Thai Tan Tien Resort

This is the second time I have been to Phu Quoc, last time we loved our Resort which was in the sam area (Than Kieu), but it was unavailable this time, therefore I looked to find something similar and was not dissapointed in finding Thai Tan Tien......and we all agreed that we actually preferred Thai Tan Tien....LOVED IT!!!!!! It is slightly unfortunate that there is alot of construction work going on right next door at the moment, which spoils the vista and adds a lot of construction noise from around 7am through to about 9pm or so....This didn't bother us, as we wanted to get down to the beach early and then we didn't go to bed until after 10pm anyway...I really hope that the new building is not some Multi Storey montrosity that will mean an influx of people to the lovely private beach which at the moment is fairly sparsely populated.. We had a cute air conditioned Villa next to the lovely pool, which has a nice outdoor Pool shower also, breakfast is included and the pineapple pancakes were delicious!!! The restaurant is reasonably priced and the food is ok, but the staff are friendly and helpful, We were impressed with the service, we were allowed to check into our room early as we arrived around 10am, and as our flight was at 3:40pm they allowed us to keep our room until 2pm at no extra cost. The beach is a very short 30 second walk accross a bridge and the sun loungers are free for resort guests, the beach is lovely. We were able to oganise private tours with the resort staff themselves (snorkelling to the surrounding Islands and to the cocnut prison and fishing village) for much less than the organised tour companies...The only negative I would point out as that the bed was super hard and made sleeping difficult for both myself and my husband and we are not old...I would suggest softer mattresses and better pillows maybe. Would definitely recommend this place to couples and small groups of friends visitng Phu Quoc (looking for a smaller resort with more character and great beach and sunsets), and we will definitely be going back!!!!!!! I really hope places like this dont get pushed out with massive development going on and the bigger well known resorts now moving in.... Would have given it 5 stars if the bed had been softer and a bit more comfortable.
