We had a really bad experience at Shena Resort. Long story with a cancellation. Anyway; the guy at the reception was rude; he seemed to not understand a word of english but at the end he understood what he wants; laugh at our face and called us crazy. His boss was even worst; agressive. And at the end we never got the money they were supposed to give us back.

 I work in a tourism industry and i ve never seen such an attitude like that from a hotel; i was really shocked.

I WILL NEVER RECOMMAND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE. Vietnamese people are really nice and welcoming people but NOT at Shena Resort.

Don t go there. Very rude staff. Bad experience

I have stayed in New Siong Bungalows for nearly two weeks in the middle of February. 
Pros:  1.Good wi-fi. 2. Room’s  well  equipped(though an aircon was very noisy)
Cons: 1.Hotel has  no direct access to the beach . You have to go via muddy & stinky road, very dark at night time.  Besides  New Siong   has not  it’s own beach.  There is no any shadow on the beach to hide from the baking sun during the hot day.     All umbrellas and sunbeds are the property of another hotels and it's impossible to occupy them neither for free no for  money ,  as well as use a shower  or toilet.  The beach in the area is too crowdy.  But the sea  is really nice ! 
3. The hotel  actually  has not ANY territory, no garden, no veranda, no place to sit outside the room.
4. There are renovation works  holding in New Siong, dust and noise all over the place. No possible to snooze at midday.  It was also very noisy till midnight or even later due to bustling billiard players in the lobby. So  ear plugs are must. The dining area was littered with garbage and construction material, so it was impossible  to have breakfast in such insanitary conditions.
5. The main problem of New Siong is its staff. They are very aggressive and rude, especially their manager so called Sindi(vietnamese girl who evidently hates all the guests). Besides, she is a liar. She's promised me from the very first day that the renovation works "will be finished tomorrow" , (though they were still  lasting when I  leaved ).  She also promised me to make a discount for inconvenience caused due to repairs, but not a penny  was back.  Another  guy at the reception was also rather rude and hostile.  They both shouted  all day long.  They are not of those people with whom you want to communicate again. 
Overall I would definitely advise to avoid this hotel. There are a lot of better hotels there for the less price. 
PS. I was trying to shift to another hotel from the very beginning, when I see the situation in New Siong, but they refused  to return me my money or shorten my stay.

New Siong Bungalow

I stayed 2 nights here and I was planning to stay longer but after two days changed the hotel.
First of all, they sent me an e-mail saying they will pick me up of for free. Nobody showed up so I had to take a taxi. After I arrived, I tried to ask why they didn't pick me up. I say I tried because Communication is a serious problem here so be aware of that.  The guy paid me the taxi fee which is good. During the registration they wanted to keep my pass so we had a quarrel as I don't want to leave my pass with whom I cannot communicate. He got furious and I asked to call the manager who can speak english. She said they have to keep my pass and send to police but this happened to me the first time in vietnam after 2 weeks. Hotel is clean, rooms are nice but keep in mind you can get the same for half of the price. No hot water early in the morning and after around 6:00. Internet worked one day  but the next day didn't. They are still doing repairs so forget early morning sleeps. The way they manage this hotel sucks which is very rare in vietnam!

Not a good value for money and forget communication is

We were there in the Christmas season and decided to book ahead of time - we called a lot of the recommended backpacker-category hotels and found out that they were totally booked, so we decided to go with a hotel that was a bit more expensive.  This was a great choice- the hotel manager is a super-friendly lady who speaks fairly decent English, they met us with free food and drinks & did our laundry for free! I'm not sure who the other people who've written reviews dealt with at the hotel - the other receptionist (a guy) doesn't speak any English and was super confused when we arrived with our booking confirmation, but we used the (free) wifi and the Google Translate app and cleared everything up in about thirty seconds - when he spoke to us via the app in Vietnamese he was super nice.  The hotel room was very nice, the location was great (the beach is right around the corner and there are a few really decent-priced restaurants on the bach right next to the beach access entrance), the free breakfast is ok (the food - including the coffee/tea - were western-style and not so great), and the service was absolutely great - as I said, she even did our laundry for free!  The room was super clean, although the bathroom in the room had a frosted glass wall which was a bit weird.  One downside - the hot water appears to be heated by solar heat or the tank is just a bit too small, because in the morning (right before the free breakfast) there's not a lot of hot water.   We showered in the evening after going to the beach anyway so it wasn't that big of a deal for us but if you are a morning showerer it's something to consider.  
Compared to the other hotels on the island, I think the price was ok - you can pay a lot more and have a lot less!

Great! Hotel manager is super.

The place is quite conveniently located a few hundreds meters from the beach. It is very basic, yet the rooms were spacious, air conditioned and nicely cleaned. The place is new so it all feels quite fresh. The bed is alright, and the bathroom features a shower not a bathtub. The staff does not speak a lot English but they are extremely nice and will help you with anything you need. The older lady (owner?) does speak it, so for anything vaguely complicated refer to her. No much by way of facilities (it had WiFi), just a decent room a step away from the beach and a 10 mins ride away from main town with markets. You get breakfast with it: only a few a la carte options.

Only stayed here one night in high season (Christmas), and booking it only a few days in advance when accommodation on island was limited and prices had risen. This might not have made these bungalows best value for money. We stayed at similar places in Vietnam for a sixth of the price. But here you are in paradise and I guess paradise has a cost!
