As a couple, worth upgrading to a garden bungalow. Minimalistic, quaint, with a good quality mosquito net - you'll be very familiar with local wildlife by the end of your stay. 
As the only guests staying, the gate was locked and we were left to our own devices. 
The owner frequently pops in and shows a can-do attitude. 
Peaceful location for An Binh but forget about the floating markets.
Free bicycles. Hammocks. Nice breakfast. Scooter rental is possible at your own risk. Insist on a helmet that fits. 
The use of the next-door pool is a definite highlight. 
Very sweet puppies to play with.

I stayed here with a group & loved the simplicity of the place. Clean shower rooms and toilets. Excellent food, smiling staff - beautiful, unspoiled, natural surroundings - away from the crowds for a relaxing stay.

Great hospitality...

rooms look decadent with lots of stuff in need of repair. mosquito net had lots of holes. rooms are a bit open air, expect (like me) bats flying around your bed at night and lots of mosquitoes. wifi wasn't working

Even thou i've talk to the owner before hand to make sure we would meet, because i went on a assignment as  tour leader to find spots to organize tours and i wanted some tips to do smtg else beside the customized tours of 'rice paper' / 'coconut candys' etc. just when i arrive he says he's on a wedding for the day (could had said before). so tells me 'next day morning!'. sure, until 11am he wasn't there and even when i met him, took 5minutes before leaving forever. He couldn't care less. the atitude of "i don't give a sh*t". 

All the prices are overpriced (if u've been to other similiar spots before u'll understand). the whole atitude of the place and other people was a bit the same looking kind tired of doing that work. there's almost no options for food in an binh, so they overprice, even thou for me the real problem was the frozen spring rolls (you can ask whatever u want, but please, deliver quality at least), the worst ones i ever had. reflecting the general atitude, you can guess there's not much love in that food.

if he's not there, all the tours he runs will be with someone who's hanging around on the spot, so expect almost no indications/english. they will point and threw some key words. again, tours are super overpriced, especially for the quality.

There's many homestay's around (and in Ben Tre) with lovely vibe's, with super extraordinary food and with people that really care for their business's and are willing to do that extra mile to hand you a superb experience (and without over pricing). this one, was probably good once in a distance past, my experience felt like a bad quality rip off.

worst homestay in vietnam

Wonderful little guest house, wonderful staff and very helpful.
Food is simple & nice, rooms are clean, many bathrooms and showers - also clean.
The hammock and chill atmosphere was wonderful and we ended up staying 3 nights instead of one..
The floating market is indeed non existent anymore, the owner told us that in advance before we booked the boat tour. It was still a wonderful tour, it also included a candy factory and that was awesome.
 We tried booking though Phu the owner a second tour the next day, to see the rice fields but for some reason there was a misunderstanding and an inexperienced boat driver came, got lost a little in the tiny rivers, dropped us off to see a ceramic factory but really there's nothing to see there. The trip ended after 2 hours instead of 4 and didn't include the rice fields, but Phu of course apologized and reimbursed us.
Yes, there are mosquitos (but they have a very effective mosquito net) and once in a while you see an enthusiastic fruit-bat zooming though the hall, but they're not harmful and I thought it was cool to see nature as it is. 

It's a wonderful peaceful getaway, highly worth it! 

Charming guesthouse!

There‘s NO point to stay at An Binh, there‘s nothing to see and to do. Just a waste of time and money!
Pictures of An Binh on google are mostly fake, there‘s NO beach on the island!

Owner is helpful. Room is noisy and not dark at nighttime. Plenty of mosquitos and bets.

Why to stay at An Binh

The staff are very helpful and friendly. The place is kept immaculately clean. The Homestay is in a lovely location very peaceful and quiet, might be a little out of the way for some though. Food was very tasty and very reasonably priced. 

Great place to stay!

Rooms are simple (well, normal for the price) but clean. Nice place with a lot of charm. Ideal to chill out and visit the region but boat, bicycles (take them to get lost in the nearby villages) or motorbike. It is more a guesthouse than home stay. Still the family is very nice and will support you in organising your trip. Nice place to recommend 


Simple but Nice and great service 

We stayed a 6 days in the Mekong region, and in retrospect it was better to skip this town and homestay. The homestay is more like a guesthouse, quite big and not personal. The owner though is very friendly and English speaking. The rest of the staff does not speak English. This could be improved. The quality of the food was poor (we had menu 5): dry chicken and tasteless cury and noodles. The setting is nice. Thy organise a boat tour to the floating market, but they forgot to say this one has almost disappeared with the arrival of new bridges and motorbikes.. also the tour leaves at 7am, too late to see (what is left of) the action between 5-7 am. The tour coats around 10 us dollar per person for 4 hours. Probably the market is non- existing next year. The rooms are good and there are many clean toilets and showers. The walls are not attached  to the roof so we had some small batts flying in our room late in the evening. They provide free bicycles wich is a nice way to see the surroundings. So in conclusion it is okay, but not the personal homestay experience you are maybe looking for. Compared  to our boat trips in Can Tho, the one in Vinh Long is better to skip. 

Disappearing floating market and not really a homestay 

We first stayed at this homestay for one night as a stop off between Saigon and Can Tho. We loved it so much especially because there is free bike rental which is essential on the island and no other hostel or homestay we have stayed at has ever offered them for free! To add to that, the owners and staff are so lovely and friendly and make the stay very relaxing! The location is also perfect and the breakfast very enjoyable. All this meant we in fact left Can Tho early to come back for 2 more night before we went back to Saigon. 

So good we came back again!

As we are a touring couple, getting to the island and then the homestay wasn't much of a chore for us. Once we got off from the ferry, there was a clear signage on the standing post near the ticketing counter directing us to the homestay. Note: the location on maps.me isn't accurate- use google maps if need be. About 1.5kms away from the port, we found the homestay. We really enjoyed the peacefulness and relaxing vibes here. The mosquito net in our room was a bliss to have! But make sure you put on a considerable amount of mozzie/ bug repellent in the evening! Breakfast is simple but good for us; fresh coffee, baguette with scrambled eggs (Viet style), butter, strawberry jam and some fruits. Had one of the best sleeps here!
