We went for the weekend 16-18th of February 2024 as a family and all I can say is WOW!!
From the day we arrived till the day we checked out, the staff were exceptionally friendly. McLan and Valentine were incredibly helpful throughout our stay. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, the meals were good, the scenery was just out of this world. I’ll definitely be going back in the near future.

Absolutely amazing

Very friendly staff and excellent food!  Dinner and breakfast were on point, and the best meals we have had so far on this 10 day trip!  We were here for just one night on our travels, I wish we could have stayed longer to do more exploring.  Very clean, no AC so summer night did get a little warm but the views are unbeatable!

Delicious Food & Gorgeous Views

I stayed at this lodge several times in the 1990s and took many friends and family there, it was always my favourite in whole of Zim, we all thought it was wonderful.  I have just revisited this most perfectly situated lodge with simple but beautiful accomodation and facilities.  The staff were welcoming and friendly. But, oh dear, what has happened to the maintenance and restauration ?    Much more needs to be done, especially to bathroom tiling and fittings and some bedroom furnishings,  and the pool looked very uninviting.  As for the meals, stodgy, too much on the plate, lacking in imaginative preparation and presentation.  Such a pity !  I still loved it, but it can’t compete with it’s neighbours in Matopos like that.

Happy to be back but disappointed with some things.

The staff was soo welcoming..love the tranquility of the place and the activities. We really had a wonderful time. The food was amazing and enjoyed the rhino tracking and the tour of the village. It was awesome!!!!

Ceejay from the reception welcomed us very well..she was very friendly and very professional.

What a gorgeous place. Sadly we only had one night here, wish it had been more. The staff were really lovely, very attentive and smiley. The rooms were fabulous and very well appointed. The food was absolutely delicious and catered brilliantly for me as a coeliac with plenty of gluten free options and managed to reassure me of no contamination, to which they succeeded! The whole experience was truly magical.

Wonderful

It was an amazing experience staying at this lodge and the management and staff were very welcoming and friendly. The rooms were clean and cozy with all the amenities provided. The views were stunning especially sunrise and sunsets. We saw wildlife around the lodge too. 

We would highly recommend this lodge to all who would like to have a break away in the bush!!

Amazing Experience!! 

What a brilliant find - the park is not huge and this lodge is nicely in the middle. You really do feel like you are in the bush properly. 
The biggest asset this place has is it’s friendly staff.
We took a guided Rhino safari on foot, just do it, you will not be disappointed.

Brilliant location - but the staff are the real gems here.

After driving around the park, we decided to pop into Matobo Hills Lodge for a day visit. Such a warm welcome by all the staff, staff so friendly! Stayed for a delicious lunch in a beautiful setting. The burger was very good. A first visit and won’t be our last. Hope to stay there soon. 

Day visitors 

Fabulous experience. The setting is gorgeous, the staff is so incredibly gracious and friendly, the rooms are big and clean and comfortable. Our guide was Dylan, and he seemed to make it his personal mission for us to have the best experience possible. Plus, he was so knowledgeable -- and passionate -- about the wildlife and vegetation. Frankly, each member of the staff deserves 5 stars. Loved it and would highly recommend. - Leslie and Mike

One of the highlights of our trip - fantastic

Remote location sculpted into the rocks of the Motopo hills with views of the impressive granite outcrops and a bar lounge with views of the greenery of the valleys. 18 exclusive double/family rooms. Lovely guided walks, if you're lucky you'll see the black rhino. There is a black eagles nest on the rocks behind the lodge. The baboons howl in the valley. There are no lions. A 4x4 car is recommended to access the lodge on the sand road particularly in the rainy season.  Lovely breakfast buffet on the patio. Take your costume to swim in the rock pool.
