Able Guesthouse Dongdaemun

The owner seemed friendly and nice enough but i think maybe the definitions of hostel / guesthouse /hotel is not clear.  The rooms are renovated and clean but the staircase, living areas - common areas are musty and dirty.  The whole building smells very musty.  There's free wifi here and the location is fantastic i would admit.  Smack in the middle of dongdaemun.  Price is reasonable but if you want a clean place i wouldn't stay here again actually.  IF you jsut need a place to sleep and go shopping at dongdaemun then this is the place for you.  The free breakfast is a loaf of bread and jam.  Even the 3 in 1 coffee sachets are dirty and sticky.  There's something wrong with cleanliness here because the reception area is also quite dirty.

Rooms are clean enough but corridor, common area - VERY DIRTY

For me, this guesthouse is more of an Airbnb where you rent a furnished room for a certain number of days. Aside from the incident where the owner (Mr. Hong) charged us with a no show fee (which was resolved easily), our stay was generally ok.

What I liked about this place:
1. Great location (areas of interest within 500m)
 - bus stops 6001 (Incheon Airport) and 6021 (Gimpo Airport) are a few meters away from the guesthouse
 - 3 subway lines (Lines 2, 4 and 5 - Exit 10) are also walking distances
 - at least 5 shopping malls (Lotte Fitin, APM, Hyundai City Outlets, Doota, Maxtyle, etc) within the area
 - Dongdaemun market, Dongdaemun Design Plaza, Dongdaemun Gate and Seoul City Walls are also within 500m from the guesthouse
 - plenty of restaurants and street food
2. Located at a quiet side (away from the hustle and bustle) for that good night's sleep
3. You can cook inside your room

What I don't like:
1. The rooms are located at a separate house a few meters away from the owner's house (where you will get the room key and pay). Both houses involved going up an alley with a not so gentle slope from the main road.
2. There is no elevator for those in the upper floors.
3. Weird orientation of shower in bathroom - facing the door. And since there is no shower curtain/wall, you will have a very wet door/bathroom area including faucet and toilet.
4. No control for the heated floors which resulted in a stifling hot room (we stayed during winter).
5. Outside noise (next door guests, hallways, stairways, etc) are audible inside our room.

Value for money guesthouse in great location!

i was in may with my friends and all will be good. Room not so large but inside was all what you need. Also have bedroom inside so it`s more good. Near have much shops and cafes, also near have subway so this guesthouse have good located

Very good guesthouse

Good price comparing room, facilities and great location. The airport limousine stop is in front of the hostel so it is very easy to get to and from the airport. Right in Dongdaemun shopping area. Dongdaemun Design Plaza is just opposite. The underground is very near and there are 3 lines so it is very convenient to get to anywhere in Seoul. Mr. Hong, the manager is very helpful and kind. The only disadvantage is the towel is small size. 

Definitely come back again next trip.

Nice room in great Location

Convenient location, just 5 minute walk to Metro Station and Dongdaemun, opposite to the new Design Park.
Safety is not a concern even at midnight.
Rooms are nicely decorated, with separate bathroom. But it's quite small, and cleanness should be improved a little bit.
Free jam and bread available.
The owner speaks English. He's nice and helpful.

Nice Hostel

Room was small with limited space. 2person unable to walk. The space is only small space from bed to toilet. No towel provide. Toothpaste n shampoo available.Location is great . free wifi. We stay ground floor, can hear people talk outside. Not good quality sleep. pillow is like can buy with $1 dollar? it is a sponge pillow.only the quilt can accept. Night market just outside the guesthouse street. Not suggest to stay here if r not supplier, because wholesale market selling clothes at the price not low and u have to buy at least 3piece. It is better to buy at goto mall. If you take bus from airport can see the hostel easily but it is more expensive than take train. Near subway station. Mr hong can speak good English , friendly n helpful. He allow us to put our luggage during our stay at nami island n mt sorak. Nothing missing.
