We recommend a visit to Welcome to the hotel on TF1, the room we stayed in leaves to be desired moist in the bathroom, shower that leaves piece, moist on the window curtains and dust on the walls.

Hotels to Avoid

Friendly home, proper breakfast served in a nice dishwasher. but unfortunately a hotel that's not maintained at all. We had a room with bathroom curtains that were originally white, but there they were between the dark gray and black spot. Teared room curtains, a sink drain that was probably never sealed, bathroom tiles dropped to the wall like on the floor, a fake bathroom ceiling that smells of a rusty liquid, a renovation that wasn't finished of the room windows tiles... a really nice renovation attempt made by amateurs... even if the demand is very nice (which is normal), it's a hotel for people to sleep, but a very clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean, clean.

one night no more

We had chosen this hotel for its proximity to the train station and from this point of view we were not disappointed: 5 minutes on foot. The reception was also very good. Except for one thing and there we should have been wary: the hotel manager asked us to set the note on our arrival (7 nights) and before showing us the room. When we arrived (third floor without elevator) we discovered a room like sixty years old not renovated. Furniture disappeared, smell of dust and moisture. A kind of toilet seat made of carpet. Wall leaking the sdb room with the paint that starts in a lamp and moisture.

It's a horrible stay.

Very nice reception, everything I've been told: restaurant advice cultural information, ideal location: located just near the train station so very easy to find, very close to the centre, nice rooms, in short I recommend ++++

Nice and three pro

The +: - The smiling and welcoming staff - The ability to leave luggage on site even if the room is not yet available - The ideal location between the train station and the city centre The -: - The dog crutches in the gravel in front of the entrance to the building. We did better in terms of welcoming. - The noise of the neighbours above, because of the grinding parquet - The bedding: lack of tightness, and grins at the slightest movement! - The cleanliness: the room is not vintage, but squarely cradly. The carpet has not been vacuumed for weeks (months!) and has therefore been covered with chaps, also with simple haircuts, stains and shaves.

The staff is welcoming and smiling, but the room is unfortunate.

Stayed here with some buddies of mine while backpacking. Owner and her daughter (if they still own it) were very nice. The owner almost felt like my distant french aunt after we left. Very sweet lady. Was a great location and prices were more than fair. The town was probably the worst part. Good for history but not for backpackers looking for a least a little nightlife while takin in the history of the town. Everything was closed by 7. No fridges anywhere to keep ur beer cold. And the train station steakhouse didnt even have steak sauce. If you do stay in Rouen This is definitely worth a look though if your looking for a decent room to just sleep in and maybe rest halfway through the day of walking around.

Backpack stop

The hotel as a whole presents itself as a steady place in time, narrow stairs crinkling (no elevator) old doors with strange retro keys. The mid-sized room, I would say almost large for French standards. The bathroom was so small that it was difficult to move. The most beautiful note of the hotel is the staff, or rather the two managers who are extremely kind and available.

Hotel of old times

Needed to catch a very  early train from the Rouen gare, so i booked for 2 nights here. Arrived at lunchtime on Sunday and left my luggage.

Given a room on the second floor - up narrow triangular stairs. Double bed and a small single.

Taken aback by the old light grey carpet having strips of rough brown mats to walk on. So one needed to wear sandals or slippers as these hurt one's bare feet.

The old small TV had a very dirty screen, which I cleaned up. Only 6 channels offered.

Otherwise the bathroom, though quite worn, worked fine. 

The 2 youngish men were both very pleasant and helpful though. One spoke good English.

From 07.00 on monday , noisy building work took place across the road where a new hotel and apartments are being developed. Old style windows are single-glazed.

Do like Rouen though - previously i stayed at the Mercure near the cathedral...

Only worth staying there for a day or 2

We quite enjoyed our four nights here. Had booked single rooms but upgraded to two doubles for only three euros a night each extra. Singles were very small. Doubles spacious. I had to ask for a clean shower curtain as the one in place was very dirty indeed. Wifi was great!!  The lovely owners were only too happy to assist with luggage on the steep and narrow stairs.

Very convenient to the train station. Ideal as we travelled out somewhere every day. However do take the time to have a good wander in Rouen. Beautiful half timbered houses.

The hotel is old but OK if you don't mind dodgy plumbing. The shower head wouldn't stay in place and I managed to spray water for miles! The toilet either flushed constantly or needed the dustbin filled with water and tipped in to the loo.

Quaint

Its a quiet expansive hotel for what it is... The yound man welcoming us was very nice and gave us good adresses in town. The hotel is near the train station which is helpful if you arrive by train but beside that, its dirty, several parts of the room were almost falling apart and it was very noisy. 
I only recommend if you need to stay near the train station and dont care about money.
