As other have stated there should be zero to evaluate this property. Or perhaps negative points as the place is really terrible. I have stayed in pretty horrible accommodations and A-Apartments win. 

I booked through Booking, and for the first time I got something that should not be offered in their platform and didn’t respond correctly when asked for a refund. I was planning to stay in this hole for 26 days for job related activities. 
When my team saw the place it was, took me out. Nonetheless, booking was not willing to support a reimbursement of unused nights. Also, not the owner who claimed this pigsty was clean.

The only thing that was a nightmare and is more fault of Booking than the A-Apartment team is a format I had to send. Without this I could not get my keys. Unfortunately, I sent several times the format-with-information, but A-Apartments would fail to get them. Only minutes before the need to check in, I asked for an alternate email. This worked and I was sent the PIN for a box to get the keys. 

My first impression is that the hallways look like a horror movie. They are super dusty with spots on the walls. Many are red. Although it is allowed not to smoke, the tobacco stink was too strong. There are no elevators, so I had to move all my stuff alone. 

The room was super small. Calling this an apartment is an overstatement. It is not even a suite. Probably the term studio would be less deceiving. Once again, there were some furnitre but everything was covered in dust. Some of the furniture was in bad shape and all the kitchen appliances were ready to cause vomit. 

I complained but I was stated that it was clean. Internet was also unreliable and was not able to connect to work for several days. For phones it worked but videos were too slow. 
After being there I went to buy disinfectant towels and some cleaning products to use certain areas of the apartment. Had to spend other day cleaning and buying more products to try to leave this place livable. 

Bed sheets were stained and gross. Mattress was super uncomfortable. Besides, before leaving discovered it had gross fluids. I got two cheap towels and never ever got something changes. Even if I was there for a week. 

I let the pictures talk for themselves. Just take this message, if for any reason you are considering staying in this place: just don’t do it. 


Worst Place Every

The key code gives me the date of my arrival. The Wi-Fi doesn't work. The screen is not perfectly clean.

Weight

Wen't here with a couple of friends, and was really dissapointed. 
The place was dirty, a lot of dust everywere, including the feather lamps. 
There were rips and dark spots on the sofabed, the toaster was disgusting, and the bathroom trashbin was full when we arrived (with used sanitary products).
And the wifi was also not working. 
The only positive thing was that it was in walking distance to the city center.

Not worth the money

I mean it’s a chocolate museum on the river it’s fantastic. Super neat museum lots to see and can make your own chocolate bar with all the fixing. Definitely would go even if just for the view and gifts.

CHOCOLATE with a view

Booked on Booking.com who I will NEVER use again after this experience. 

I really wished I had read the reviews but booked in a rush. Everything on the listing is described at 1 location, the booking confirmation sent also has the location as listed. But then you get a 2nd email from the host who has a poorly written email and we didn't realise it was at another location across the city until we tried to get our key from a lock box and had to phone the person up. He was an extremely unfriendly and rude german man who tells you you need to read your email, I said we were at the address on the booking confirmation! Had to pay $15 euro to get in a taxi and over to the other location - which we did not book - and what a messed up place we walked into. 

Firstly the 'lock box' for the key was NOT out front of the location, but around the corner on the other street so we had to call and listen to this rude person again help us find it.

Second, there is no room number on the door. So it took us ages to figure out. Also you have to go in a security door from the main building, then an old lift to get you up to your floor, a 2nd security door, and then your room. If there were a fire at the apartments you would be trapped as you need a key to unlock your door to get out of your room which is extremely unsafe. 

Third, the massive HOLE IN THE HALLWAY WALL WITH A VIEW and peep hole RIGHT INTO THE BATHROOM. So anyone walking by the hallway can watch you do your business. After discovering this we called the host again who said there was no hole, we ended up in a yelling match and hung up the phone twice on us. He said what do you expect for the price. Definitely not a hole in the wall for people to see you that's for sure. 

So now that this man would not help us, we called booking.com. Well, after 4 hours back and forth on the phone, sending them photos, being on hold, transferred, etc they came back to us with a pathetic reply stating they could give us $15 euro credit as well as stating "We understand that you are not happy with the condition of the
apartment and would like to bring to your attention that the review
score is 5.5 out of 10 based on 863 reviews, which means that there
is definitely room for improvement." Basically, they said that it is not their problem. 

BOOKING.COM DON'T CARE WHAT THEY SELL ON THEIR WEBSITE, AS LONG AS THEY GET THE MONEY STRAIGHT AWAY ITS NOT THERE PROBLEM AFTER. With the hole in the wall and totally different location this entire place is a rort and we will be looking into reporting this to higher authorities. 

Also there are many other things that were not great in the room including the towels provided were only small hand towels, room is very hot and the door locks you in.

DO NOT BOOK!!!! TOTAL NIGHTMARE

Although the apartment wasn't bad, I felt totally deceived. They have many apartments and they advertise them as if they were all in the center. Totally false. There is only one in the center. The rest are far away. It's totally misleading advertising. Access without problems because you read the many comments people make about it and clear all my doubts from here. Nothing recommended. You waste a lot of time traveling.

 A misleading location.

We were booked for a three-day stay, and after two hours we left this mess, and we were contacted, but we couldn't talk to the very unfriendly lady.

Worst apartment there ever was.

We wanted a short break between xmas and new year so booked through booking .com. the website lead us to believe we were booking the pictured accommodation but in reality as we later realised we had been allocated one the other side of the city from where we needed to be. In the small print when we received the details stated you need to bring linen but that being vague we attempted to ask the owner who was uncontactable. Having received the confirmation we realised we had (like many other unlucky people) been totally mislead would have to take extra luggage on our flight to carry said linen and stay in a place not of our choosing and so we requested assistance from booking .com. They unsurprisingly managed to contact the owner who blatantly refused to either change the booking or refund the deposit and indeed after we made the decision to cancel took the full payment also.
Please be very careful if you use this company and also double check the website for hidden or misleading information. I would also recommend checking on trip advisor as if I had done so I would not have gone anywhere near this particular booking. It appears we may have lost all our money as there are different rules for accommodation booking which allows unscrupulous operators to retain your money. I also feel that booking.com website is not entirely blameless albeit they have to my knowledge not broken any laws, but they are in effect assisting this person in causing the same misery we have endured and I would like to hope that this is something they would address. Suffice to say we did find a nice hotel right in the old town and will put this one down to experience.  You have been warned!

A-parment A-big mistake

Accidently reserved apartment via Booking.com and which was cancelled immediately (within three minutes according to Booking.com).
I requested reimbursement of the cancellation fee (which was the full amount of the reservation) or a reinstatement of the reservation.
Neither emails nor phone calls were replied to by the agent. Only the Booking.com customer service was able to get a reply: no reimbursement nor reinstation of reservation (even though the apartment was still available at the same price).
I felt that an honest mistake was not considered for a commercial gesture by the agent. Reading the other reviews now, as my subject line suggests, be very cautious when booking with this agent, as the agent is neither reactive to individual requests, nor customer service orientated.

PROCEED WITH CAUTION: No customer service

We were in Cologne over the weekend, but we didn't want to stay here. The apartment was not as it was shown in the pictures at the booking. We found mold, flying mold on furniture, dirty mattresses and beds and insects, so we immediately fled to another hotel. I only advise everyone to leave their fingers. We will have legal consequences examined.
