Booked a night via Agoda and the pictures are NOT what you actually get. When I arrived at around 10 pm for a night's stay, the lobby was pitch black and the doors were locked. After banging at the door for a bit (out of fatigue and panic that I might not have a place to stay at for the night), the receptionist (who was asleep on the other side of the lobby) woke up, unchained the doors and let me in. The building is old, dilapidated and smells of mold. The room I got was on the 4th floor and the stairs going up are creaky and cracked. The door to the toilet can't be shut and the electrical sockets had burn marks. There were two reasons why I picked this hotel - it was cheap and (supposedly) near the Hanoi railway station. The cheap bit is true. For about USD 10/night, it is cheap. The near to the railway station is a stretch - it's at least 20 minutes walk away with the possibility of getting lost what with all the intersections you have to cross.

You get what you pay for

Simple hotel in a noicy location. Rooms were ppoor. Booked through booking.com, the description of the hotel was not as it appeared to be. I booked a De Lux single room, the room offered was a smelling small room , With a handshoer in the toilet. The room was so small, that you could hardly fit your luggage  there. I negotiated a better room , but har to pay extra. Note that when you book With booking.com, you have not paid for the room. I thought so, because it appeared as if I han paid. Run into a discussion on the issue. In spite of the the less pleasant start, it ended up well. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. Location was sentral, Nice restaurants and cafes aroung, and walking distance to Kiem lake.

Noicy location

I planned to stay here 4 nights but only ended up staying one. The man at the desk was extremely pleasant, friendly and spoke good English. He took me to my room and must have seen the shock on my face since he proceeded  to say 'well the room is cheap.' The room smelled of urine, hadn't been cleaned and the shower had fallen off the wall.

If you want a private room on a budget and don't care about cleanliness then here's great but otherwise head somewhere else!

Friendly staff but disgusting rooms

We arrived at this hotel because we had booked it in Booking and on arrival it was NOTHING from what came out in the app. Old hotel, dark and unattended. No accessories and accessories. Every time I booked a hotel I chose the option with breakfast included and at this hotel I was told that they had no breakfast and no restaurant (as Booking explained that).

It's a pity.

We just arrived here and tried to check in. It's pouring it down with rain and walk upstairs to our room where one bed has a massive pool of water from where the ceiling has leaked. The hotel itself is very outdated, and unclean. The guy also tried to convince me that booking trips through them is the cheapest company, however this is not the case in fact they are one of the most expensive! Don't book trips through them there is plenty of trip stalls who do them for way cheaper. After seeing the leak in the room we then walked back downstairs, no one really communicated anything with us so we assumed they didn't have other rooms for us. We then asked for our passports and they guy just said sorry and we walked out. No offer of help for what we do now! Probably the least helpful place we have stayed whilst travelling... 

Room ceiling leaking with rain couldn't put us in another room

In the bathroom there was endless mould, the beds were partly dirty (hair...), towels stained (but you can get others on request). It was quite loud, almost like sleeping on the street. From the ceiling it dripped in one place - like in a dropstone cave, cables hung loose around the bathroom, a socket hung loose from the wall, and the water did not flow in the sink.

Mould and dirty beds but keep cheap

I thought about letting go of this inconvenience, but the truth is that I couldn't, in May 2017 I stayed for four nights in this hotel with my family. First we thought about letting go of this inconvenience because we stayed for a period where there was no room in other hotels and we didn't want to stay on the street without a hotel. At night in the room rats sat and tried to eat everything there was food, also leaving our suitcases in the front desk a rate broke our backpack.

Located most probably right in the center of the old town where the street food and coffee shops are located. center to practically everything. If you are with kids and you need peace and quite going to bed would not recommend the place as the streets are alive till around 3-4am in the morning. 

I wouldn't like to complain too much for the price i pay but the room has the basic necessities and has no lift and i was accommodated on the 5th floor. Room was not very clean but when i requested for it to be cleaned they did the job immediately. Receptionist is very friendly and speaks English and when i requested to be changed for a room in a lower floor she was very supportive. Don't expect any luxury in the place but you have hot water, AC and even have a small fridge and a TV with English channels on it and WiFi which works fine. 

Cant complain for the price paid.

Budget Hotel, Worth the price if you want to get you own room

The receptionists are nice, they speak English, and all the time they try to get you a tour or something. They are also quite distracted. The cleaning service is every other day. The wifi didn't work too well, and the room is very noisy. The furniture is very old, and everything is a little neglected. In photos it seems like one thing but from close up, the reality is another...

Nothing from another world.

The hotel we stayed at is located on Hang Manh 24. 4th floor, no elevator, a wooden spiral staircase. Breakfast as desired. Cost depending on the number of nights and days of the week, about 17/18 dollars. After eviction, you can easily leave your things at the reception.
