The Hotel is actually a cafe with rooms but is well run, clean and well situated in the middle of the Altstadt. If arriving by car, park first in the underground car park in Josef Gorres Platz, a couple of hundred meters away as you can't drive to drop off bags at hotel. Breakfast is excellent and the service is cheerful and orderly. Staff were co-operative when I had to cancel at short notice some of the days booked.

Simple and Central

We took breakfast twice here during our stay in Koblenz. The best coffee, croissants and sandwiches we experienced. Pleasant multilingual staff added to the experience. Great location for starting the day.

Marvellous cafe for breakfast

The Altstadt Hotel & Cafe is located on a fairly quiet plaza in the old part of Koblenz. It was easy to walk down to the Rhine and the Moselle.  Our room  faced the plaza; it was small but very comfortable and the bathroom was huge with a very large tub/shower.  We had breakfast in their cafe every morning.  The staff was very pleasant and helpful.  

Great location

Super location in the heart of the old city centre. Overlooking a picturesque square in a pedestrianised area, a public underground car park nearby. The hotel being in an old building, has no lift, just a spiral staircase and if you are on the top floor with luggage, a good exercise. Our room on the top floor was small, but clean with a decent bathroom.
An all day cafe downstairs overlooking the square does breakfasts and other all day meals and drinks. Would stay again.

Reasonable value for the perfect location.

Lovely location, handy to everything, all in walking distance. This hotel is extremely old, unfortunately had no lift so quite a challenge when you have to drag cases up 3 flights of stairs to your room not an easy task considering the stairway is small and spirals. Staff are helpful and friendly. No car parking that I'm aware of. You can't park outside the hotel to drop of your luggage. So can be quite a walk to the hotel with suitcases. Charming  hotel I'm sure there is quite a history here. Can be a little noisy again church bells going of on a regular basis.

Couple of nights

Situated on the most beautiful square of the Altstadt/old city of Coblenz, this café offers a perfect terrace for a chill pitstop :)

Selfservice with friendly staff behind the counter. 
Good offer concerning drinks and snacks (Kaffee und Kuchen).

Great for people watching.

A drink with a view :)

Spent one night here prior to boarding a Viking river cruise.  Having warned the hotel of our very late arrival time (because  of a cancelled flight), I was given a code which gave access to both the outer door and our room … all worked like clockwork!  The room was clean and comfortable and had lovely views over the Danube. The staff were friendly and the  breakfast very good.

Helpful Staff, Good Location

So before you go looking for a 'Hotel' it's not... So you need to look for the Cafe, and then ask at the counter, the rooms are up a spiral staircase, they do have their own entrance to the side but no 'reception desk' this is not a major problem so don't let it put you off.

The rooms were nice and spacious and clean. you do get some noise from people outside in the square at night but not too much to be an issue, and you are really in the centre of things.

There is a good underground car park close by Tiefgarage Görresplatz.

Not a Hotel

This “Hotel” is actually a cafe with rooms so forewarned is forearmed. It is centrally located within easy reach of the ricer, Schloss and city squares.  Check in is via the cafe but there appears to be a key safe if you arrive after the cafe has closed 18.00 when we were there. 
The real problem for travellers with suit cases without wheels is it is situated in a pedestrian area.  The underground car park is a couple of hundred yards away so make sure you travel light or have wheels on your bag.

Hard to beat for convenience but without a lift or a porter it was a struggle up the spiral staircase to the second floor with out portmanteau.
