Came to Quebec City for Carnaval. Chose this hotel for the location and price and it delivered on both fronts. Right in the middle of Old Quebec, we could see Chateau Frontenac from our window and were across the street from parking and surrounded by restaurants and shops. 5 minutes to the river and 5 minutes to Carnaval site. 

Very helpful staff and cozy accommodations. Room had bed, TV with Roku, sink, desk, chairs, dresser, closet, and lamp. Soap and 2-in-1 shampoo provided as well as towels and face cloths. Bathroom was close and had everything you need. Check in and out was a breeze. Clean all around.

Do not book this accommodation if you struggle with stairs, as there is no way to get into the building otherwise. We stayed on the 4th floor and the stairs were steep and uneven but we didn't mind it and it added to the charm. Ceilings can be low in some places. 

Only lost one star because of the bathroom, it was difficult to access the toilet without ducking or hitting your head on the sloped ceiling, and the bed was a little uncomfortable. 

Amazing deal in the heart of Old Quebec

Amazing location,  within 10mins walk of everything you will want to see and explore. Close to sights and restaurants. In front of the city's most popular restaurant "La Buche". No street noise at all, on a quiet street. However walls are so thin you can hear everything inside the hotel. People talking, flushing the toilet, walking past the room, walking around upstairs, watching tv, everything. The door might as well be open it is so loud. Double room was very small. Shower was decent, hot water at all times, good pressure. Bed was comfortable. Heating inside was adequate but not modern style. It's an old building. Reception staff were pleasant but not interested in more than the basic interaction. Hotel has a small common area with a fridge, microwave, table and couch.
Very strong and consistent WIFI
 Hotel easy to find and great communication regarding check in procedure and payment etc. Very professional in that way. We would stay again but would also like to try a new place that's bigger and more comfortable. 

Amazing location, average hotel

Very very convenient location on Rue St. Louis.   It is quiet - the only noise I hear is from  people walking outside.  The room is cozy - small but has everything that I need - private bathroom, tv, fast internet.  Room can be cleaned if you asked.  I am happy that i stayed here.

Comfortable Stay

Excluding the fact the walls are not sound proof and that I got woken up at 6 am by an alarm coming from the last room at the end of the hallway; my stay was great. The tv of our room wasn’t working but we weren’t there to watch tv anyways! There was only one wall plug in our room to charge our phones which means maximum 2 devices at a time. Although it was a shared bathroom, it was clean and we had an overall good experience considering the price/quality.  The receptionists were really nice thanks for your great customer service!!

Overall good stay

Ok this is an AUBERGE not a fancy, ritzy hotel.....It was exactly what we look for....basic and clean with parking and access to the Old Town.   The Chinese family that seem to run this AUBERGE are as kind as could be:   she got me a pass to the parking garage DIRECTLY across the street ( you have to go in and out every 24 hours as that is the limit..drive around the block and come back...) The cofffee in the waiting room did not look inviting, but I wasn't waiting there!  The young lady gave wonderful directions.   The keys(??) can't remember open the door after 10 pm.     But they live on premise......Our room was on the first floor...again boutique hotel of European fashion means 2nd floor about 12 steps and no elevator in this type f auberge...Our room was simple but clean....had its own shower and sink but we shared toilet with 6 rooms: never saw anyone once!!!!  No problem at all.....We had trouble working the tv and the heat and the girl came right up to the room and showed us.   You talk about location....WOW.  The parking garage is directly across the street ( have to go in and out every 24 hours....)and you are 6 minutes walk to the water/Frontenac Castle...which has the funicular between Old and New towns     We ate a wonderful breakfast each at at L'Omellette(have all meals every day) ..if go out of the hotel go right down 3 shops and there you are!!! cheap and GREAT!  Keep in mind we like simple and cheap and safe.........have no regrets here....you can stay in the Frontenac for $600 per night and be 5 minutes away.......The price fits the facility.  We usually are out from 8am to 8 pm seeing things...could care less about the decor!  The parking garage is DIRECTLY across the street.   has hair dryer and towels.   remember to tip the room maid.....

In the old city and only minutes walk from Chateau Fontenac and the funicular,
Surrounded by restaurants, bars, quaint shops for us it was ideal.
The steps are tough but that is typical of all these old boutique hotels.
If mobility problems request a low level room when booking.
We had a shared bathroom arrangement which was never a problem and our room was quiet and very clean.
The reception area provided free coffee and seating which was nice.
Very nice hospitable staff..........highly recommend

Loved the location....

Situated within 5 minutes from Chateau Frontenac on St. Louis Street, this auberge is located within close walking distance from the Ursuline Church, School, and Museum. 
The street has ample restaurants and eateries including a small grocery store around the corner. 

The steps to the reception are quite high, and if your room is on the second, third, or fourth floor, you will find them narrow and uneven. Not great if you have heavy suitcases. The carpet needs changing. 

Our room had a private bathroom. It was comfortable with a queen size bed. The bathroom was large but bring your own toiletries. 

The service was good. Coffee and tea were available at reception but the vending machine was not working. 
 


Great location for a short stay in Old Quebec City

A fine family operated quaint hotel.dedicated to the feeling of being at home.    Location is everything for L’Auberge Saint Louis along with the most delightful breakfast imaginable.     Will return very, very soon.

Superb location

Stayed for 3 nights early October.  Luckily we had room on ground floor and only had to walk up one small flight of stairs. Probably the best thing about the room was that the bathroom was new therefore very clean.   The actual room was very cramped, quite claustrophobic.  Bed up against wall, hardly any room to put luggage.  The light didn't work, the air conditioner didn't work.    Having said that, the hotel was in a terrific spot.   You only had to walk outside (through the broken front door!) and you were in amongst everything.    Found it very strange that you had to pay upfront as soon as you checked in, which isn't really the norm. Would I stay here again - probably not.

Location best feature

Even though this place is dated the location can't be beat. We had a room on the third floor which at the end of the day seems like way to many. We had a window looking out onto the street which was wonderful. The staff was wonderful and the price was GREAT. It is only a few block from the waterfront. Lots of shopping and things to see.
