The room was dirty, broken shower door, broken blinds, really outdated, overpriced. The location okay, it’s close to the city centre, however even then it’s not an ideal area, dodgy men lingering outside, clearly drunk/ on drugs. As a young woman travelling alone i felt incredibly uncomfortable walking to and from the centre through this street. 

Not worth the money 

If you’re here for the big game, it is a place  to sleep near the sports stadium and that’s about it.  But we’re not sports fans.  Just wanted to be near the train station and Castle.  Very small room with a tiny shower.  There are stubs in the shower wall where a shelf once was.  As it is, your shower materials are on the floor by your feet.  The sliding doors that enclose the shower make a very narrow opening for entry.  There’s a light above the sink.  It doesn’t work though.  Between 11 pm and 4 am you’ll hear the partygoers loudly pass by.  No toilet paper holder. It sits behind you on the tank top but it’s very cramped to reach it.  There was nowhere to lay  a suitcase.

I’m still tired from getting so little sleep.

Positives .. bed was comfy.
Negatives.. room was tiny, grubby, blinds were broken and hanging off (man did fix them quickly).Room suitable for hobbits as low ceiling, en suite was tiny. Could hear people using the toilet and being sick. Furniture in room was old and tatty. I know its a budget place but i would be embarrased to let anyone stay in the rooms.
The milk and coffee s did not get replenished, if we had not had to call for blind to be fixed we would not have seen anyone.So bad we left one night early and went elsewhere.

Worst place ever stayed

horrendous, the whole place was dirty and shabby and just an unpleasant place to be, made way worse by the paper thin walls and the drunken fellow guests. 

only stay here if your looking for somewhere to crash and your on a tight budget. 

Paper thin walls and an unpleasant place to be

Great location in the heart of the city.  Immediate area was ok.  

Apartment had a nice bathroom and the kitchenette was ok.  

The bedroom was a different story and was dirty and unhealthy as shown in the photos.  I was supposed to be there for two nights but shortly after arriving I decided to book an alternative hotel and left not long after arriving mainly due to getting over a cold and not wanting to be exposed to apparent mould and dirt. 

I informed the property management having left and requested a refund, have now been advised that it’s not possible due to their cancellation policy and wouldn’t refund £150. 

Poor decision by the manager of the property. 

Its rare if at all that I complain and raise such poor conditions but the apartment I was allocated deserves such comments.

Disappointing apartment due to uncleanliness

It’s a budget guest house and does not pretend to be anything else. The room was basic but had the essentials, and was clean. The self service log in worked without problems, and the room was quiet. Perfectly acceptable for a short stay. But parking is a big issue, the nearest parking is a 10 min walk away and that car park is very expensive, which negates staying in a budget hotel! But a good choice if not reliant on car parking, as the location is very central and not far from the main train station.

Good choice for a budget stay

Despite the location being excellent for visiting the Principality for the WWE event, we had trouble entering the property to begin with (given the wrong pin code in our info email). Obviously all the b&bs and hotels bumped up their pricing to factor in the WWE event but we felt the price increase was not reflected by the standard of accommodation on offer.

The bed was clean but one of the legs (middle left side) looked like it was going to give way any second, there was a horrible urine-like smell by the main chair, the TV barely worked (remote certainly didn't, anyway), the window blind was half-broken, there were odd damp-looking patches in the carpet, there were large broken tiles in the bathroom, and last but not least the SHOWER DIDN'T WORK AT ALL. A basic feature, I'm sure you can agree.

When we tried to call the helpline (on which we managed to speak someone almost instantly a few weeks beforehand) no one picked up at all.

Taking into account the HUGE price bump for the WWE event, the issues with the room were awful. It felt like a room where the necessary basic checks had barely been done and it was just cashing in on the event. Luckily the location is excellent, but that doesn't detract from a staggeringly poor experience.

Also, something I hadn't quite realised when booking the b&b is that there are no staff on-site at all (or at least we weren't greeted and received no assistance or guidance whatsoever). This wouldn't have been a problem had there been any response at all on the helpline.

We can't speak to the other rooms across the two numbered buildings, but if you get Room 9 (Building 1), AVOID.

Awful facilities but great location

This was a nice little place to stay everything is central to where I needed to be and go too, the town centre is literally less than 10mins away and the train station is also.

I traveled down for the WWE Clash At The Castle Event at the principality stadium which was right opposite where I was staying, so I didn't have to travel to far.

The room was spacious and very clean, toilet and shower(nice and hot too) & was very clean aswell.

Overall enjoyed it here.

Good little place to stay near to everything, 

The location is great. A short walk to Cardiff Castle and the city center. 
The room was a little depressing. Shower drips, floors looked unswept, water stained ceiling tiles, desktop was dirty and there was no top sheet just heavy comforters. Also no parking. 
Access was simple and the view from the front is good for people watching. The room had all we needed to manage for 2 nights. The beds are comfy and I enjoyed the seating area in our room.

Cant beat the location.

Excellent location 5-10 min walk from the centre, but far enough for a quiet stay. We booked a double bed with ensuite; the bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious. Great value for money compared to other hotels and guesthouses in the surrounding area. TV had streaming options such as YouTube and Netflix. Only negatives were the bathroom window was stuck and would not open, and there was not quite enough toilet roll provided. Overall a very pleasant stay and would definitely return.
