Situated by the Thermes de Constantin, L'Atelier du Midi is run by a very friendly hostess, has comfortable beds and serves a solid continental breakfast on the lovely roof terrace. The river is close by, as are many of the places that any visitor to Arles should check out. It's also easily accessible on foot from the train station.

Well located right in the heart of old Arles

We spent only a night in Arles on our route from Uzes to Aigues Mortes and further to the Languedoc. 

Given we were in the midst of a sweltering heat wave,  Laurence had proactively reminded me they don't have aircon before we arrived, but thoughtfully provided us a fan and a mini-fridge when we came.The Atelier du Midi is basically three rooms (funkily decorated with photos and souvenirs from her travels, particularly around Morocco) that are part of her house, accessible by a separate entrance.  It's about 10 mins walk from the station (free parking) or about 5 minutes from paid lots nearby - we had been provided very clear instructions as were driving.  The location smack in the historic centre, makes everything easily accessible by foot once you get there (Laurence provided us a map with many suggestions).  Breakfast is served in the charming terrace.   Great value for Arles.

Comfortable overnight stay in Arles, friendly hostess

If you follow Laurence's directions from the station you will find the BnB very easily.  10 minutes walk and I had a large bag (20kgs) with rollers.  Laurence was very helpful and carried my bag up to the room and down again the next morning.  I would have loved to stay another night but had time constraints.  Breakfast was on the terrace which was delightful.  Basically a continental breakfast but very nice.  Stairs are narrow and windy but that is common in Europe.  Right in the midst Arles so walking to all sights is really easy. I had time to see all the sights but it would be lovely to stay a few nights and just wander around beautiful Arles.  It is not a luxury place but is very French and delightful.  Lovely to stay in a true French home instead of hotels.  Laurence kept my luggage until it was time to catch my train which was so helpful.

Perfect stay to explore Arles

The B&B is easily found, after a 10 minute walk from the train.   Laurence greeted me, and showed me to the room which was home for 5 nights.  Quite small, it was up a flight of stairs.   Another flight up is the outdoor terrace where breakfast was served.   Breakfast is typically french "peiti dejeuner" (continental), and pretty good.   My only complaint is Laurence denial of a second croissant.......that seemed petty to me.   The B&B is well located for walking the town, and as relates to the room, other than a "single" sized room, the warmth meant that the window had to be open overnight to allow any available cool air in, and that meant also allowing in the street noise from only 10 feet below!   Scooters and trash tucks are very noisy.  But, Laurence was generally very helpful, and her price is hard to beat.

Fine location, and a friendly hostess

A perfect location from which to visit the attractions of the Old Town of Arles: everything is within easy walking distance, and the nearest car parking is by the river Rhone which is 2 mins walk away. Plenty of good bistro-style restaurants within 5 mins walk. The 3 bedrooms are prettily and tastefully decorated in a Mediterranean style (Provencal meets Moroccan meets Spanish), and the bathrooms are fine without being luxurious. The staircase is steep and winding so it would be hard to get big luggage up to the 2 bedrooms on 1st floor [2nd floor for US]. The breakfast room up on the 2nd floor is charming and the open-air terrace in summer would be fabulous. The typical French breakfasts were ample and generous, prepared by the owner who is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Doesn't take credit cards.

Great place to stay in historic Arles

Very friendly and helpful owner, she knows Arles extremely well.  The hotel is very difficult to find and can not be approached by motor vehicle.  You will need to approach on foot.  The B&B is on a corner, and once you find it, it is easy to find again, but the first time can be a challenge. There is a (small) paid parking lot for motor vehicles, located near the Baths of Constantine, several hundred meters distant (next to the Rhone River), so be prepared to haul your luggage to the B&B.  If you have roller bags, this will not be easy because of the cobblestone streets in some places.  There are only three units here, one on the ground floor and two upstairs.  The staircase is very steep and narrow, so its best if you do not have a lot of luggage or large, heavy luggage.  The rooms are small and relatively basic, although artistically furnished.  The breakfast area is on top, with a terrace and is very nice.  You can only walk around the inner city anyway, so this is a great location for doing just that.  There are some restaurants relatively nearby although not immediately adjacent. Great place to stay if you want to experience Arles as it was a 100+ years ago.

Heart of old town Arles

This quite old B&B is very centrally located with easy access to restaurants and attractions nearby. The owner was very helpful with suggestions of where to eat etc. The rooms are very basic with no air conditioning but perfectly fine for a night or two.
