Very hard to access... the way driving up to the top was tricky! My dad drove and he complaints a lot about my choice here.
The bed linen smell like sheep. Maybe that's because they are on a farm.
The two little girls checked us in, looks like family run accommodation. I really wanted to rate this place higher but there was no signal! No phone signal, no wifi, if you want to stay away from the world, then its the place you shout go haha

Nature!

This place could be run so much better. It’s situated high up the mountain with a great view in a spacious cabin. But everything else was disappointing to say the least. Bed linen costs money, bath towels cost extra, self cleaning was expected, all fine. There was also no hairdryer, and the WiFi did not work the night we stayed. When asked about the WiFi after trying to find the connection for 10 min, the owner simply said it’s broken, sorry. By not stating up front to set the proper expectation this made it feel like a hide-up hoping we wouldn’t find out. All of these are mere inconveniences by themselves, but when combined together without informing upfront the stay became a bad experience.

If the owner intends to run this as a real business, the extra mile of helping travelers feel at home is really not going to cost that much relative to the positive return they’ll likely see.

Could’ve been a great stay

This was a well priced alternative to Flåm.  The generous space was a nice find.  The hostess was helpful and friendly.  The apartments are a little tired, but are good for five people. There is a bottom double bunk, which is nice if you are a couple rather than separate bunk beds.  Good price.  It is about a 25 minute drive from Flåm along a narrow road.  It is near the lookout point, that is worth the drive anyway.  Great views from the balcony. (In the photos)

Simple accommodation. 

The challenges start with finding the property.  There is a clearly-visible sign on the main road with the property name, in front of a gravel road.  The gravel road quickly divides in two directions.  One direction leads to a large house with an imposing gate blocking entry to it -- doesn't seem to be the right place.  The other road, it turns out, leads to a dead-end farm field.  Upon returning to the gated house and getting through the gate, found the property street number on a door with a key in it and assumed the key had been left for us.  Opened the door and discovered I was in the owner's private house - very disconcerting for both of us.  We had asked for towels and linens to be provided.  Owner said they weren't ready and that the credit card terminal for charging our room was somewhere else at the moment (? ) but that she would bring the linens and the terminal to our room shortly.  At 9:30 PM, I walked back down to the main house to discover that the owner had forgotten.  Linens were then provided -- worst towels ever.  Small and like sandpaper, even though there is a 100 Kr per guest charge for them.  Bed linens were also uncomfortable.  Owner was somewhat friendly, but also very fond of telling us what we "must" do:  we must clean the cabin before we leave; we must put the used linens in this specific place; we must put the garbage in this specific place; we must close the gate, etc.  Felt more like grade school than a vacation cabin.  Cabin was reasonably comfortable (all beds are bunk beds, but that is clear in the listing) with a very nice view.

Not guest-friendly.  Not recommended, despite excellent view.

Nice little vacation home with spectacular views. Plenty of room for our family of eight.  We had to pay an extra 100 NK per person for linens, as we did not travel with our own.  And be aware that it is a six mile drive up a narrow winding one-lane road above the village of Aurland!
