I actually like this hotel quite a lot, despite having some reservations after reading some of the reviews here. I stayed in a single room at the end of the hall - and the rate was quite attractive. The room was spacious for one person, and everything worked just fine - including the windows which came with a mosquito net and could be locked with no problems (anyway, I was on the third floor, it's impossible to climb in from the outside). The air conditioning was cold, and I had to switch it off sometimes. The breakfast room was large and well lit with a nice buffet area. At dinner time, the hotel offered a buffet ticket (of different foods nightly) at 59 BRL only. It can get busy though. I didn't use the pool; fitness centre was really an outdoors exercise area. The staff were kind and nice, and some of them spoke English. The tour desk was great, and I used it to book a trip to the Argentinian side of the falls. It was quite reasonably priced at 400 BRL all in. They also do complimentary transfers to IGU airport, and shopping trips to Paraguay (100 BRL). The only thing that could be improved was the wifi - it didn't always work, and you couldn't really stream things with it. There is a 5 BRL onibus (line 120) just outside that takes you to the city, the airport and the falls. Overall, I highly recommend the hotel and would stay here again.

Highly recommended hotel in Foz do Iguacu

The hotel is conveniently situated near the airport and the falls. Parking is free and there is plenty of parking spaces. Those with kids would be delighted with the pool, water slide and playground. We like the spacious hotel restaurant, which serves a hearty breakfast with a variety of cold cuts, warm dishes, breads, cakes, muesli and fruits. Dinner at the hotel restaurant is also good. The souvenir shop in the hotel is a gem, as the prices there are lower than other places (especially the official souvenir shops at the attractions). Our room is clean, quiet and comfortable, and wifi is ok (not too fast but sufficient for emails & social media). One advice: please bring mosquito repellent.

Good restaurant and souvenir shop

Both the decor and furnishings of the rooms look like the old days in the Soviet Union.  There was no hair dryer in the room.  I was given another room that smelled like chlorine, no bedside lamps.  There were only 2 electrical outlets and a good distance from the bed.  I asked at the reception for a bedside lamp but no one brought it. Disappointing

I stayed a couple of days in November, the personnel was very kind and the treat to tourist was very good, when i asked questions to the people in the reception gave me information and tips very helpful, the room that i got was very big and very comfortable enough to disinfect the clothes and put it in a different place in the room far from  the bed, the pool close at 10 Pm and from over there you can get food, there was a restaurant that offer breakfast already included in the price very delicious, if you want you can eat in the hotel but keep in mind just can consume what is inside NO outside, the dinner was very delicious, there was a small store to buy souvenirs inside the hotel. the hotel is very close to the Parque das Aves and the Iguazu Falls entrance, in overall this hotel exceeded my expectation and it was very close to the airport. the only bad thing but is not that big deal that the center of the city is a big far but you can ask in the hotel a ride for a price or ask Uber. Thank you very much for your attention and make my stay comfortable.

Nice place

I travel since i'm 16, visited tons of hotels, hostels but this one was one of the very worst experiences i've ever had.
1. All rooms have access to neighbors, some doors not closed so me and my friends experienced very negative emotions with it having random people WALKING INTO YOUR ROOM in a MIDDLE of a night. 
2. When addressed to the reception desk, answer was: "We will send someone to close the door". WELL IT NEVER HAPPENED
3. I must admit food was not bad, some of it was good.
4. Check in was another nightmare, instead of letting us check in they made us wait for an HOUR while everything was paid and they admitted that it was paid.

DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL

I won't recommend to anyone

It was a nice, looking good hotel, with an attentive and friendly front office staff. The room bathroom and the bed very good. 
The food for breakfast and buffet for dinner very good, too. We have been to the Iguazu Falls only for one day/one night stay. Arriving at "Aeropuerto Internacional Guaraní" Ciudad del Este, Paraguay - one hour trip by taxi to the hotel. No problems at all by the border. The hotel has shuttle service to the very nearby Brazilian "Aeroporto Internacional de Foz do Iguaçu" - only 5 min. drive!
We recommend the "Hotel Colonial Iguacu" for visiting the Iguazu Falls, there was a nice garden and hugh swimming pool too, + small pools - but no time for us to use it :(
Nearby the hotel there is a beautiful bird park and more.

It's a good hotel  and near the park entrance in walking distance if you like :)

Nice entrance and entrance hall, professional receptionist. Ok room, having the best times behind but good for one or two nights stay. The colour of the wall painting was rather annoying and created somehow sad atmosphere.  But that's not important for the sleeping itself, it just creates unpleasant ambience. There is also an open swimming pool available for the hotel guests. The restaurant offers the bufet dinner - pay fixed amount and eat as much as you can. Wide selection of hot and cold meals.
The breakfast was very rich, not only sweet things but also scrambled eggs, sausage, salami, cheese... more than enough.
We found very good two things. The position of the hotel - just 15-20 min walk on the side of the main road to the entrance of the national park. But safe enough.
The hotel also provides free shuttle to the airport leaning every 30 minutes. It is just about 5 minutes drive.
All in all good price/quality ratio with some pleasant extras.

Maybe one tip - we arrived to the argentinian Iguazu Airport in the morning. We took a taxi which drove us to the argentinian National Park ( waterfalls). We agreed with the driver that he would pick us up at the entrance later in the afternoon and drive us to hotel Colonial ( cca 30 min drive). We left our luggage in the locked box near the Souvenir shop by entrance and paid like 300 pesos for the box. Than we spent sufficient time in the argentinian NP ( cc 6 hours ) 
It was super because we did not need to search any other transport later. Smooth crossing through the border in the taxi.

Very good option...

We stayed two nights in the worn out place. We got a fairly good bed and and a hot shower, which is already an excellent performance compared to other places we stayed in Brazil. Wifi was good, ac was not too noisy but hard to control (too cold or not adequately cooling). Only passive ventilation in the bathroom, thats not nice: mirrors damp and its a bit smelly. 
The hotel looks like it was originally built in the 60s or so. Don't look for sound proofing, there is none. Oh yeah, windows won't lock, its just like that everywhere in this hotel. Called the front desk: what if there is theft? They claimed to take the responsability if that happens... yeah! 
The breakfast is well above brazilian standards including glutenfree and lactose free options (2 or 3, no miracles but still). 
Staff at the front desk is generally helpful and has a reasonable command of English. Staff in the restaurant (breakfast or for the optional buffet in the evening 42 brl) is utterly careless and speaks portuguese only. No single effort from them.
I found it interesing they send someone to your room at check out to verify your mini bar. Haha!

Ok-ish

This place is within walking distance of the park entrance gates.  The staff are attentive and the rooms comfortable.
The selection for breakfast and dinner is impressive and tasty.
A lovely big pool to enjoy along with mini pools and slides for children.

Great location for Iguazu falls

I finally worked out this hotel and am now ok staying here.
The rooms are old and basic. It’s motel quality and cheap. 
The breakfast is ok. 
The evening Buffett is 38 reales per person and is catering stock. 

This is better than the San Martín on price and quality.
But don’t come with grand expectations. 

It’s ok.
Free shuttle to airport. And close enough to the falls to walk, 
It would save you money staying here compared to other nearby hotels. But it’s nothing special. 

If a complete overhaul, remodelling and new menu and quality of food, this would be a great hotel. 
It’s just tired.

Tiago on the front dest was excellent. He welcomed us well. Remembered our rooms and details of us. And accommodated our needs. 
Five star receptionist in a 3 star hotel.
