Castlemaine House B&B

Castlemaine

I stayed in Castlemaine House with my family for three days while travelling around  Kerry. Our hostess Myra made us feel welcome right away and nothing was too much trouble for her. Both our rooms had a private shower/toilet unit attached. The house has a cosy ambience and the beds are very comfortable. There is plenty of parking space. For anyone touring Kerry by car, Castlemaine is a good base.

A lovely place to stay.

We had initially planned to travel farther inland after driving the Ring of Kerry and Skellig Ring counterclockwise in one day but wanted to have time to enjoy the peninsula. Changed our plans and booked the Castlemaine House. There's not much happening in the town but stopping was a good idea. Myra was gracious, our room was very nice, and we were able to choose smoked salmon as part of our delicious breakfast. Castlemaine House was a fine choice! Griffin's Restaurant is only meters away for dinner.

A Real Jem!

Castlemaine was an extarordinary experience thanks to Myra. We stayed for four nights touring the area. Every morning she would literally spoil us with her marvelous breakfast and ask about our plans and give her valuable advice. Every evening she would greet us and ask how our day was. The room was immaculate, comfotable and quiet. Thanks Myra, all the best.

Home Away from Home

Castlemaine is like your home away from home! We made this B&B our "home base" for touring the Ring of Kerry and Dingle Peninsula. Myra, your hostess is great! After a late arrival she phoned a local restaurant to see if we could be seated. She is so sweet and helpful when planning your day trips! Breakfast is fantastic so go hungry. We can't wait to visit again and this will be where we lay our heads!

Great B&B to Make You Feel at Home!

I stayed here last spring with my parents and loved it! Beautiful clean rooms and a delicious breakfast. The place was spotless and the beds were very comfortable. In my room, the bed had an electric blanket perfect after a rainstorm. The hosts went out of their way to help us with whatever we needed. It was a good base for the ring of Kerry if you have a car. I cannot say enough how great the stay was!  We did a trip driving all over Ireland and stayed in many different places, but this was by far my favorite.

Wonderful!

This is a great friendly b and b with excellent breakfasts and a great host in Myra. The location is ideally suited to touring the ring of Kerry and the dingle peninsula. I would highly recommend Knightly bar in the village. home cooking, fantastic service and the locals are friendly.

Castlemaine house

Having driven all the way from Cork we were desperate to find a room.  
The host was very welcoming on such short notice and was eager to help us settle in.
Breakfast the next day was a lot.  The choices were plenty and so was the amount of food.  There is no need to leave hungry.

My only complaint was the excessive smell of incense in the building. 

If you need a fair priced place to stay, this is it!  Also, a great location to get to Dingle and the most beautiful ocean drive you'll experience in Ireland.

A good place

We arrived here earlier than check in and Myra greeted us with a smile and allowed us to leave our bags in our room before we headed off to do the Dingle Peninsula. We chose this b&b for its position for doing both the Dingle and the Ring of Kerry. Castlemaine is a small village so doesn't have a lot of amenities if this is what you are looking for. We were lucky enough to be here for a weekend when there was live music on at Knightleys pub. Myra and Michael were lovely hosts....thankyou for the stay
