Me and my friend had a very memorable stay at Chana’s homestay. It is conveniently located w.r.t Angkor archeological area. The homestay is beautifully designed by Thomas (co owner), nestled in the woods. Channa and Thomas are great hosts. They provided us with many helpful tips and information about the area, helped organize transportation and guides. Thomas is an excellent baker and would prepare fresh bread for breakfast everyday! Channel is a great cook if you desire Cambodian food. They have 3 adorable, warm and loving kids with whom we had a great time. It was really nice to have a feeling of coming back home after a long day exploring the awe inspiring monuments of Angkor. We had a great time thanks to Thomas, channa, Amanda, Anita and Anton. I would recommend this homestay for travelers seeking a unique and local experience away from the noise of crowds.

Beautiful homestay

My 66 year old mother and I stayed here for 5 nights in September and enjoyed our stay throughout. Channa, Thomas and the kids made sure our stay was one of the most unforgettable of our six week trip, we are still talking about it! 
Thomas' knowledge and suggestions of the area made for a smooth days in and around Angkor and Siem Reap while Channa's welcoming demeanor made us feel right at home. The children were friendly, well spoken and quite sweet (shout out to the to dogs as well who saw us off and welcomed us back on our days adventures). 
A few of our highlights:
-Channa's home cooked traditional meals!
-Mr. Small our driver (that Thomas arranged) was superb- he anticipated all of our touring needs.
Location- 15 minutes to Angkor and 15 minutes to town proper
-Engaging conversations with Thomas about Cambodia etc. We left feeling that we had a better understanding of the culture and the people, I have since read several book on the topics discussed.

International teachers this is a great choice for you if you are looking to take in Angkor for a few days. I hope to go back soon with my husband in tow!

Perfect!

My husband and I stayed here in March of 2016.  Channa and her husband were wonderful. So helpful with securing a Tuk-tuk driver (Mr. Chin) and helping us plan our temple visits.  Mr. Chin was outstanding at finding a hotel pool to use for the price of a cocktail and restaurants that took VISA.  We had breakfast with Thomas and there lovely children every morning.  We learned so much more about Cambodia and it's culture because of this home stay.  If you want the ultimate cultural experience you must stay here.

Best Experience Ever

Channa, Thomas and the children were very friendly and welcoming and conversations with them were so interesting.  We appreciated being in the peaceful setting well out of the town, and enjoyed the sights and sounds of the countryside though it was quick and easy to get to the heart of the town by tuk-tuk.  The meal Channa cooked for us was amazing and the bread Thomas baked fresh every morning for breakfast was delicious.    It is quick and easy to get to the main temples of the area from here.  We have some very fond memories of the family and their pets.

Perfect place to stay for our first few nights in Cambodia

Overall I had a good time staying with Thomas who is Danish and Channa his Cambodia wife and their three lovely kids. Channa is a very good cook making tasty local Cambodian food daily. Food is bought fresh from the local market each day. Joining the family for khmer styled dinner is U.S. $ 10.00, initially this wasn’t made clear, so you’ll need to check first, rather than just except an invitation to join the family to eat.  Breakfast - if included, is home baked rolls with cheese and coffee. It's a lovely house, although the area is quite secluded, down a single-lane dirt road, about a 15 minute drive north of far from the crowds of Siem Reap, so taking a return trip to town for food by tuk tuk will cost you U.S. $10.00 anyway.

The main house has two rooms and a bathroom upstairs with a sitting room in between, with the family's kitchen downstairs (their bedroom is in a separate building/garage?) My review relates to the room in the main house The room was nice and spacious. Bugs and mosquito’s are quite a problem, however, the bed had a net and mosquito coils were occasionally given which helped a lot. The room and bathroom were basic but clean and plenty of hot water. 

In one review on line reads - ‘It needs to be made clear as you arrive that bikes are charged for, not lent out’ I got to use the bike free of charge. 

In another ..  ‘We had a very good time in the home stay until the point when the owner wanted to charge us for a breakfast that we never ordered. When he saw that we were not happy with it he asked us to leave (we already paid the homestay).

The only criticism I have really is that, they do seems to be quite ambiguous regarding the charges - so its best to ask first, to avoid any unpleasant surprises - to be honest I was surprised getting charged US $ 10.00 for a home cooked meal which I thought was pretty steep.
