Although I had a confirmed booking for May 11, for which I had to pay in advance, the hotel manager sent me an E-Mail three days prior to the planned check-in date advising that the hotel will be closed that week and therefore, he will not be able to honor the booking. Following this note, I could not get anyone on the phone, nor did I get any answer to my various E-mails and Faxes that I sent to enquire details and to request my money back. A TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE BUSINESS PRACTICE !!!!

Cortijo de Ducha needs New Management !

So glad we chose Corrijo de Ducha. As soon as we arrived we were thrilled with what we saw. A wonderful Andalucian Cortijo with a courtyard and artefacts. A truly rural setting with amazing views. 
The staff were very pleasant. The rooms were lovely and comfortable. The aircon worked perfectly, very important in August! We had lunch in the quaint restaurant and Juan Antonio the waiter went out of his way to help us choose the meal and the wine. The house wine was exquisite. After lunch we went for a swim in the large pool. 
We booked the Hammam in Jerez which is the best of them all and well worth a visit. The inside is a replica of the Alhambra in Granada. 
A helpful addition to find the hotel is to take the turn off 628 on the N 1V motorway as they dont mention that on their address. 
We will definitely recommend this hotel to friends 

A charming typically Spanish Cortijo

first, thanks to all the staff,all very nice,welcoming and helpfull,including the restaurant staff,we started or trip with this hotel for 2 nights, it was a fantastic experience, room was very clean and comfortable, the hotel itself is just beautiful (paintings,building...),the swimming pool area is heaven, it was a real treat,a holiday feeling. if you need to be disconnect with the outside world it is an ideal hotel, we just loved it. the restaurant was a wonderful experience,everything we tried was very good. the breakfast doesn t have much choice but it is ok considering that you want to save yourself for lunch in their restaurant. the location is fantastic, of course if you want to go visiting around you need a car but if you need to rest and to have a great time (a quiet one) it is the right place.
thanks again to all staff, we hope to come back next year and for a longer time.

just perfect

The hotel is simply good and very clean. Lovely pool area. If you go swimming past 8 pm you just have to fill in a paper you're doing it on your own risk as the lifeguard leaves.

We did find a gekko on our room but it left us in peace. Did end up checking my shoes before putting them and closing luggage so he wouldn't get in though. The room was a good size and clean. The light in the bathroom however was not very strong. One evening the power also went off and was not restored untill we told it in the morning.

Breakfast was not 'wow' but decent. Apparently we did get more then when my parents went during low season. They did complain about the breakfast back then.

The restaurant is good and we ended up dinning there twice. The first evening the service went smoothly and we were done in half an hour even! However the next day it took even 20 minutes to get a menu card offered! I got slighly annoyed as my parner has acid reflux and can't eat late. They just start serving at 9 pm which was already way late for him. They should be more flexible with the dinning hours. It is Spain but just opening at 9 pm is a little too late in my opinion.

No other remarks. A well earned 4/5.

Simply a good hotel with a good restaurant attached

Had business to do at the Jerez airport, and the proximity was not the only draw. Don't be scared about this fact because the airliners land and take off quite far from this property, and the traffic circuit for the resident flight schools' single and twin engine aircraft is supposed to be a few hundred meters out. In short, it is a quiet and even tranquil place! One of the most enjoyable things is to sit in the courtyard in the evening, watch the sun set through the gate and enjoy a fabulous steak and an ice cold beer! If you have a few hours to spare during daytime enjoy the pool, although you may want to stay there a bit longer in the evening when the heat is gone but the pool gets closed at 7pm. There have been many postings about the location, but in my view the distance from the city is an asset unless you didn't read these postings and expect a city hotel. And since the hotel is a re-modeled farm - which farm lies in the center of a city? Definitely I must not fail to mention the friendly, attentive staff. Especially when staying there for more than 1 night the service gets very personalized and homely, in a great setting. Besides, WiFi is available too. I agree with a previous posting that the hotel has some potential to market itself better as the place it truly is, but then perhaps some of its draw (tranquility) would be lost.
