If WIFI is important don't stay here!! After travelling for 17 hours and looking forward to catching up on news and emails I arrive to find the small print on their welcome leaflet says they ' Offer LIMITED and INTERMITTENT acces for guests to check emails and search the internet'. I'm not a teenager who needs my internet acces limited.  For NZ$159 per night, this is an absolute rip-off.  I would not have booked here, to stay in what is a basic donga, and no WIFI. So now I'm having to use mobile data to do the basics.  And if you like reading by a dull yellow / brown light, well you'll be happy with the lighting. otherwise bring a torch. Unimpressed? Sure am!

"LIMITED and INTERMITTENT" internet access.  You're kidding me?

In our basic cabin we had everything we needed.  The kitchenette was well stocked with utensils and dishwares.  Very clean and the beds super comfortable.  We also enjoyed the pool on those hot Darwin afternoons.

Highly recommend

This park is directly in the flight path for the international airport in Darwin.  Our first night was interrupted continually up until at least 2.45 in the morning with overhead plane travel.. it is also THE most expensive caravan park we have stayed at at $75.00per night in Australia......truly exorbitant for nothing more than we have stayed at anywhere else.   No concrete slab, prickles  underfoot.... I get the no grass, it's Darwin in the dry, but for that price, you would expect weed management... we have moved our van to the burbs ..much better. 🙂

Overpriced and noisy. 

Accomadation cabin was fine, bed comfy had everything we needed. Park was clean and tidy. Had 2 x pools, jumping pillow for kids.

Close to airport so could hear planes taking off. Bit out of town not too far though.

About 10km out of Darwin it didn't take long to get to the CBD. The local bus stop is just outside which we used a couple of times although they don't run very late at night for an evening out.
We learnt after the first night that we had to buy ear plugs to get a descent nights sleep as the noise from the airport and the Stuart Highway day and night is not good.
The van park sites and facilities very good. 

Discovery Park, Winnellie

Located out of Darwin City, it suits people with cars that can still get into town or families just wanting that caravan park experience. Fine for solos- very safe and clean. There is an hourly bus just outside the park that takes you into Darwin City. Less times on Sunday. I didn't mind the airplane noise, mostly from the local RAAF base (didn't notice any commercial planes although the Darwin Airport is also nearby). Overall, I was happy with the stay at Discovery because I came during busy Darwin Cup time and could not get an affordable hotel in town.

Good location outside Darwin City

Centrally located not far from anywhere. We based ourselves here for a week. Check in was super easy. The staff were lovely. Amenities were clean & fresh. 
The kids loved the 2 pools & the jumpy pillow. It wasn’t until the last few days that they discovered the games room. 
We found the park very dark at night with minimal street lights working, so pack a torch. The main road through the park in bitumen, but side roads are grass.  
The park is super close to the airport which is convenient, however the airport runs 20 hours a day & night. So the noise is constant, great for those plane buffs, but pack your ear plugs. Overall a great park to be central for days trips in & out of Darwin.

The staff go over and above and are so responsive, so helpful and so proactive in helping make the stay a good one.

excellent customer service

We picked this park basically due to reviews and comments made, and were not disappointed. Very good park, clean with ablutions and other amenties clean and in good condition, Only issue is that toilet cubicles could be bigger so you doint have to straddle to bowlmto close the door, We found all staff we dealt with to be friendly and very helpful. Our site was a good size and easy to get into. We were their during Operation Pitch Black and were woken every moring just after 8:00am with the sound of screaming jets fighers taking off. It was awesome and we have plent of videos and photos. Caravan park is very close to airport runway which can make it noisy when the airforce take off, but we loved it. Location was a bit out of town, but we thought it was perfect. 15 minute drive tothe centre of Darwin. Loved our stay here and we will definately be booking here again when next in Darwin

Lovely Park in great location

Suits people with caravan parks or cars but also people who flew into Darwin. Use 1 bus into town each hour - Bus No 8 but must be back by last bus at 9.20pm, or use ride share after this.
Clean and tidy cabins with air con and fan. Good to air in afternoon with the breeze that comes through.
I was worried about being close to airport but the plane noises were not a concern, but close to RAF base which unexpected to know that fighter jet planes go overhead in the day time. Nil overnight issues.
Suits singles, families and couples.
No local shops for groceries but again, you can travel by bus to the local shops 15 mins away. Cabins have cooking facilities
