Booked Dunedin Heritage Q Apartments in Queen Street.  This apartment was a real health risk from mice droppings and rat urine. They give stock platitudes as answers in relation to the complaints.  These are not luxury apartments and if children or babies were in here the diseases they could encounter could prove fatal. The same for those with health issues. The apartment was filthy and no facilities to use as such. Our apartment had an open door, couldn't lock, out on to a filthy  bird droppings and other crap. This is where the flies and mice are coming from. They are unscrupulous operators who only take the money, provide platitudes to comments and complaints and certainly don't take environmental and pest control seriously. Would you live in your own house with this. I've screenshot the previous complaints so all in the same timeline. Let me be clear, these people don't care, don't give them your money and risk your loved ones health.

No accountability for disgusting apartments- real risk to people.

We had 3 nights booked for June 2020 which due to covid we had to cancel. They would not refund our deposit,telling us we could put it towards a future booking and that they would be taking bookings from Sep 20. Neither ourselves or Booking.com have been able to get any response from them to re-book. Initially we had an email saying we could use the deposit for future but since then, there has been no response from emails sent and the phone numbers are not working. So basically they have stolen our deposit along with I suspect many other peoples!

Two Bedroom Apartment - Holyrood

Positive: The property was close to the bottom of the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, close to Palace of Holyroodhouse.

Negative: The property was NOT as pictured in the photographs. It wasn't clean starting at the front door; this was the case throughout the apartment, from the bathrooms, to the kitchen, the air vents, the linens and the moldy milk pods in the fridge. One of the exterior doors was "secured" with a bolt in the drywall. We were travelling with our children, so when we checked in that night and discovered that, in addition to these issues, the toilet didn't work, we decided to leave and check into a property we'd stayed at before: Old Town Chambers (please see my review of this property - it was exceptional in every way).

We have just returned from a two night stay here. I would not return. We stayed in one of the penthouse apartments. This apartment is not a luxury one! The place looks nothing like the pictures. It was clean but very dated and uncomfortable. The beds were tiny, the shower was tiny and only one bathroom had a shower. I just found it really poor. The location is not great either. 

Not what was expected.

We stayed in this apartment for 3nights this weekend. Five of us booked our trip away in this 3 bedroomed apartment which sleeps 5. When we arrived our luxury stay was far from this. Only had seats to sit 4 in living room, headboards were full of rips and  bin was falling to bits in the kitchen. Shower in en suite was really poor and had to be detached to work . We still had a lovely time, place was clean but far from the luxury we were promised. Tried to pass on to the lady we gave keys back to but she felt we were unreasonable to ask for 5 seats in living room as there were places to sit on floor . Enjoyed our break but would not stay again or reccomend.

Dunedin penthouse apartment

We booked through bookin.com and there were no specific pictures for each apartment. We rented the three-bedroom town apartment. Well the apartment is OK. But the showers are small, bad water pressure. The beds are to short and really small, the rooms are small so not really any room for two suitcases, and the decor is dull and out of date. Our opinion is that we won’t rent here again, but the stay was OK.  The location was ok, and it was a quiet neighborhood. Also we waited over 20 minutes outside from the office in the morning when it was supposed to open at 10am, at 10:25 we figured we would just come back later. So maybe someone really likes this apartment, but we didn’t really like it, and probably wont rent here again. 

Not what we expected. 

Beautiful appointed flats, everything you need is catered for.Have been a few times and would certainly return and recommend.Locations are ideal too plus parking is a bonus.Picking up the keys was easy too.

Excellent

This is a great alternative to a hotel for half the price. Well appointed with two bathrooms, sitting room, dining room and kitchen. There's a Tesco express in the same block and pizza express opposite. Easy walk into town and train station. Highly recommended.

Long weekend

When we were looking to book ‘Dunedin Apartments’ through Booking.com, we could only see general reviews and could not see one relating to the specific apartment The photos were deceiving because they were a mix of all the apartments, which seemed unclear to me. It was the same when we looked at reviews on Trip Advisor. Since Dunedin rent several apartments, I thought people may find it useful to have a specific review. The one we stayed in was a 3 bed (5 people) flat on the fifth floor of Gentles Entry. It was a good apartment, very warm, clean and spacious. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. There was road noise in the mornings but night time was reasonably quiet, considering you are on a main road. It is only about a 5 minute walk from Royal Mile (look it up on Google Maps etc) Very close to a Tesco Express with an ATM and opposite Pizza Express. Recommend! 

Gentles Entry - 3 bed apartment 

Stayed in Edinburgh for 3 nights and we had chosen the Dunedin Apartments for my family of five. Never regretted the decision as we simply love the apartments. We stayed in 2 separate apartments, one in Blackfrairs and the other at Gentles Entry. Firstly, the apartments are huge and spacious and they are very well-equipped. You can find all the necessary appliances such as washing machine, fridge, utensils, cutlery and microwave in this apartment. This serves us well especially if we need to prepare a meal or two for the entire family. Secondly, we collected the keys from St Mary’s street. Good thing is that we were given a colored-printout detailing very clear instructions, map and pictures on how we can get to the apartment. The apartments are reasonably priced making it a value-for-money stay for us. I will certainly recommend this to any friend who’s visiting Edinburgh and if they are staying near Waverley station.
