Probably the best value for money in Split. Relaxed, sympathetic owner who makes an effort to make sure everything fits and really cares. You feel very good. Family pleasant atmosphere. The guests are all very friendly and considerate, which I think is due to the owner who cares that everything goes well. Everything very clean and well maintained.

Relaxing family hostel

Stayed here for only 2 nights but would definitely stay again. Kitchen is pretty much fully equipped with fridge/freezer, oven and hob, microwave, crockery and pots and pans etc. The people were really friendly and we had a room with a balcony which was a bonus! Its about a 25 minute walk into the centre but that didn't bother us. 

Great place! 

We wouldn't have stayed here if any other place were more affordable in Split. For the price of 47€/night I expected more..

The shared bathroom is a joke, since you share with everyone else and it is shower, toilet and washing machine in one room! So getting in is kind of a lottery.

The room is very basic, the free towel is an old hand towel, our aircon was only working with loud cracking noises over and over. So had to switch of at night.

There is parking in front of the apartment, distance to the city is rather 35-40mins by walking. Staff was polite, but only spent as little time as possible for us.

All in all not recommended!

Don't go if there are other (affordable) options

We arrived at 6.40pm (I emailed and said our arrival time would be 5.30pm however was delayed due to the coach but had no response anyway) to find we had to wait an hour for our room to be ready which was not ideal. The hostel is roughly two miles from the promenade and up a hill, however is in a quiet location and is easy to find with google maps so we did not find the location a problem. Our room was clean on arrival and had working air con, however it was not explained to us that this would cut out after certain usage. Our beds were comfy and there are wardrobes. The bathroom was always kept clean and tidy however is very busy and usually in use as it is the only bathroom / toilet on the floor which could have over 10 people staying on it! The kitchen and dining area was clean and had everything you need. and was also a sociable area to talk to other travellers which I enjoyed. The wifi is very slow but free. I found the owner difficult to talk to however the lady who worked 9am--5pm in the day was incredibly friendly and helpful, spoke amazing english and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and at home. I can't remember her name but she really changed my opinion of the hostel and was just so so lovely.

Okay hostel

For some reason I just couldn't get along with the hostel owner. Possibly because of the language barrier, but either way all together for me was not such a pleasant stay. It's also about 30 min walking to city center.

Not so nice

We stayed here for 12 days and found the staff incredibly hospitable, always making us feel very welcome and like we were coming back home from a long day of exploring the beautiful Islands and National Parks of Croatia. There's a well equipped kitchen with an oven, a hob, a freezer and a fridge which helped us save money as we cooked our own food. A good distance from the Old Town (20 minute walk) which can be quite expensive and the surrounding areas have less tourists so their prices are lower which is great if you're on a budget as we were. Also a 10 minute walk to the beach and 30 minutes to the harbour and bus station where you can get transport to the majority of the attractions, islands, excursions and national parks. The place was very clean with air conditioning in the rooms and windows and a door to the balcony which was great in the middle of summer. There's storage for clothes and personal items, a dining area which is great for socialising with the variety of travellers, and a bathroom with a shower. A huge thank you to Bruna and Goran for all your help, advice, hospitality and compassion you shared with us during our stay which included changing our beds and washing our clothes as we stayed longer than most travellers, recommending locations and travel advice, picking me up from the airport and being there every morning to clean and wish us a good day.

Great Value For Money

We had booked two nights priced at over 70 euros: a poor quality price ratio, a four-room bathroom, a poor fan, a very badly conditioned bunk bed and a tenant who doesn't declare his customers and asks to be paid in cash!
