I would live here if I could. It’s right on the beach, you can hear the waves booming and see the spray shooting up from your room, or walk along the path and enjoy it even closer. Room was comfortable, not fancy but clean, and there was *real coffee* and *real half and half.* Truly my favorite place on the coast.

Couldn’t be better

The good things first:   Very spacious room with fantastic views and beds were comfortable.

The negative:  The overwhelming musty smell (thankfully my husband had a can of Lysol fabric spray).  Also, I didn’t pay attention to who, but front desk staff just seemed bothered by us when we’d go up there … just not welcoming … and the motel was not busy at all (I think there weren’t even 10 cars in the lot).  Also, we didn’t like that there are no windows to open to hear the ocean except for those super mini windows that we’re assuming are  for air flow.

Has so much potential

Another great stay at the fireside! What more can I say? The room was clean and ready to go, the bed were comfortable, the room seemed to be a decent size(we had a non view room) and you are right by the 804 trail (a nice walking trail right by the ocean with spectacular ocean views!) plus I like having a tub on the chilly coast. They have DVD players, small fridge, and a microwave, and an extensive DVD library in the lobby. This place is quickly becoming my go to in Yachats!

Another great stay at the Fireside

Awesome location right on the beach.  Beds were comfortable.  Hotel was clean and staff was very nice.  Pet friendly.  Nice trail into town as well as walking trails along the beach.  Nice quiet location.

This is so much better than your usual roadside motel. Excellent spacious clean room. Location and view are outstanding with views of the ocean and a coastal walkway right outside. Good facilities and check-in and parking bays right outside room. Lovely area with Cape Perpetua so close. Just wished we'd stopped a bit longer!  

Great place to stay in Lovely Yachats

Easy check in.  Lobby has a nice gift store with some food items for the in room microwave.   Friendly staff, clean, comfortable and quiet room.   Many rooms are pet friendly, which were looking for.  They provide towels, surface covers and poop bags in a Doggy Guest Bag.  Convenient dog walk area across parking lot with more bags and disposal can.    Great view of the surf crashing on the rocks through large picture window and we had a  covered deck with outdoor chairs and table which would have been put to use if the weather was just a bit warmer.

Great, clean, comfortable room with a fantastic view!  
We stayed in the ADA no pet room and it was exactly what we wanted.
The walking path just along the ocean was a great way to watch the ocean and relax.

Small roadside motel in charming SMALL coastal town. If you are looking for a not too crowded weekend beach retreat in OR, Yachats and the Fireside just might be the ticket. It's very different from Seaside/Newport/Cannon Beach but just as expensive. Motel review-If you are wanting an ocean view room don't go off the pictures on their site, call and ask some questions. You can hear the ocean from all the rooms but most just have a partial ocean view. There are 2 separate buildings on the property that contain their rooms. Also keep in mind there is not a walkable beach in front of this motel, it's very rocky with no sand beach but there is one close by that you can drive to. While this might be a bummer for some it does make for more dramatic waves and crashing ocean sounds. Stayed in their family suite, which was very large, with full kitchen (fully stocked), 1 bath, 2 separate sleeping rooms. Also, a queen sized pull out in the LR. The only thing about the layout that I did not like was that you have to go through the bathroom to get to the main bedroom and that it has a pocket door. The other room is just off the entrance, and it has 2 single beds. Everything you need to cook in the kitchen and one of the best coffee accessories I've ever seen at a motel (real Sweet N Low and cream). Above average sheets and towels, more like you would find in a nice hotel. Room was very clean and mattress on the main bedroom was above average for a motel. 3 wall heaters kept us plenty warm and noticed there is a mini split AC for those summer stays. While they no longer offer a complimentary breakfast, they do sell quite a large selection of food in the little lobby/gift shop. For this particular room I do wish they would remove all the carpet and just have the laminate flooring that is in the kitchen as this is a dog friendly hotel. I would stay here again, give them a try if visiting this charming area.

SATISFIED

The Tufted Puffin room provides a beautiful view of the ocean through a large picture window and only a few steps to the fantastic rocky coast! It helped that it was a sunny, beautiful weekend with the Celtic Music Festival in Yachats, but it is not necessary! The walks along the shoreline were entertainment enough at any time of year!

Not that this place need another rave review, but I'm going to give it one anyway. I love these older hotels that have been kept up. Character. Right on the water, balconies that you can actually get out on and play cards. Walking distance to town  It was great.I'd stay here again
