I have stayed here many times before due to the convenient central location of the hotel. The rooms are basic but spotlessly clean and they are serviced daily. You get a private balcony overlooking the shaded courtyard. Plenty of water pressure gives a good shower and the beds are comfortable. The Wifi is excellent. A basic breakfast is provided with a selection of foods. There is also a courtyard bar and a vending machine. Parking is also available should you have a hire car. Carmen and her son George are friendly & enthusiastic hosts and always seem to be available to help and provide advice and assistance. English, French & German is spoken along with Catalan so no language issues. Thoroughly recommended.

Great budget hotel in a grand setting.

El Hostal Plaja, is a family-friendly hostel with 16 rooms, which are located in the patio - garden of the family's former cottage. And they are quiet, away from the noises of a foot. It is located in the center of Palafrugell, in a pedestrian zone only. They also offer a very good breakfast buffet. In addition to a very good treatment, attentive and familiar by the entire staff. A place to repeat.

A family hostel in an old couple's house,

We had a very good time with the concerts at the beginning of the evening. Me Plaja speaks very well French and is very supportive: we have had a lot of advice for our hikes and other things. Breakfast is good and price/quality ratio very good. If you park in the nearby paid parking lot for several days, you have to check out for 1 special rate. If you do like us, you will pay 19€/day while you can pay half less!!!

It's a very friendly stay.

A family-friendly, caring and attentive treatment by your hostel is the first thing you get even before you arrive. It is a hostel in the center of the village, surrounded by a square where you can easily park. This hostel is located in a mansion of an old family that was devoted to trading cork and that the current generations dedicate to this beautiful hostel. As a good hostel the rooms are not special but stand out for their cleanliness and comfort of the cottages.

 FANTASTIC

During our trip on the road we stayed 3 nights at the Hostal and we liked it very much. Clean and well organized rooms, private balcony, very quiet despite the central location. There is also an indoor kiosk used for evenings and concerts. Breakfast varied and abundant, strategic location for all the beaches around the Costa Brava. Be careful to enter right up to the Hostal because there is the ZTL, but the housewife is so efficient that she communicated our license plate to the street police. The housewife speaks fluent Spanish and French and a little Italian is an all unskilled person who takes care of the structure in an excellent way. If we had to return from these parts we would definitely leave.

Not to be missed

Hostal Plaja is very centrally located in a charming building. I was very warmly welcomed. The hostess is ever so nice and helpfull. The location perfect. Rooms simple but very clean. Nice breakfast.Very good quality for your money. I will certainly come back. 

Lovely place to stay

The hotel is beautifully located. In the city centre near the main square.A Spanish façade, the simple but pleasant rooms overlooking a well-kept patio.The owner is extremely kind, the breakfasts are very rich (sweet and salty) very reasonable prices even in high season.For the car nearby parking is almost free.I recommend this establishment

A week between Palafrugell and Tamariu

We enjoyed a very pleasant family aperitif, refreshments, beer, and a delicious Aperol, an excellent location in the centre of Palafrugell, attention of 10+.

The terrace is excellent.

We just stayed for 1 night in room 217 on the second floor, a spacious room with 2 bedrooms together, everything very clean with ventilator and TV, the small bathroom the perfect shower, also has a small balcony that gives the patio interior well cared for. The treatment with Jordi was kind and cordial, willing to help and give advice. The breakfast buffet very right with bread with tomato, stews, potato tortilla, yogurt, homemade sweets, orange juice no nos gusta nada, the best of the Nespresso cafe, excellent. I recommend this accommodation for its quality price, we will return.

Quiet and comfortable.

Beautiful building and stunning courtyard, very friendly and welcoming owner - lovely surroundings, just off the main square- will definitely go again! Quiet and secluded and peaceful place to sit and relax in.
