Great hostal, location is superb! Don’t forget to check out the rooftop. What a view.. Myriam is a great host, super friendly and makes a mean gin-tonic. Luggage service with shower, even when checked out in the morning

Super nice hostal!!!

The Ritzi is perfectly located in a quiet lane close to the centre of town and a few hundred metres from the sea and the cathedral.  It is a very good base for exploring Palma's old town.  There are masses of bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity.  The Ritzi itself met with my expectations.  It is simple and oozes old Spanish character.  It is entered via a gate and up stairs to the first floor (there is a bicycle hire place on ground floor).  The interior has old wold charm and rooms are likewise and everything is simple and uncluttered.  The bedrooms are basic in traditional style and clean with plenty of bathrooms/toilets adjacent to the bedrooms (we had a good shower and washbasin in our room).  Breakfast is taken on the first floor in a simple and traditional dining room.  The standard of the breakfast surprised me - much more than I'd expected, but all very simple and staple choices.  Simple and comfortable but  a little more expensive than you might expect.

Heart of Old Town

It is a hostel and that is what you pay for and that is what you get. However a bonus is the breakfast which is fine, you will get a croissant, orange juice, coffee, tea, cruesli, jam, bread for toast. 

The kitchen and bedrooms are very clean. Though, very warm inside but a fan helps a bit. There are enough bathrooms, it was fully booked but we never had to wait, there was always a bathroom available.

The only thing is the matresses, they really urgently need replacement! 

Recommended for this price with breakfast bonus! Location is great as mentioned in other reviews.

Value for money

You won’t find a lot of places like this in the city center, especially for those prices. It doesn’t have any meaningful facilities. Not every room has a view on the old town, so thats worth inquiring about before you book. The breakfast is quite barebones (no fruits!). 

Tip: do not order through booking. They usually have some more rooms that are not on booking.com.

Great location and good value for your money

Hostal Ritzi is perfectly located in one of old town’s picturesque laneways full of bars and restaurants. The hotel is very basic but clean and has no extra facilities to speak of although it did have wifi. The staff person who greeted us was very friendly and helpful. A simple breakfast of croissants, toast, cereal, juice and coffee is provided in a dining room. The guest room was tiny and the private bathroom with a shower and basin was very tight. The shower was almost unusable as the shower curtain let water out everywhere. It is probably a better option to just use the shared bathroom which was just outside the door as that was larger and had a proper glass shower screen. If you have heavy luggage or mobility problems this is not the place to stay as there is no lift and we had to lug our bags up 3 flights of stairs. But if you want to be in the centre of a great location in beautiful Palma, at an affordable price, this is the place to be. 

Fantastic location in Palma Old town

First of all, it has a great location, near the center, shops and taxis stop.
The staff was super kind and friendly, so we got no problem with that.
As cons, the bathroom is not fully isolated, and the toilet and shower are too close to be comfortable there.
We did not have time to have breakfast, so  can't sa much about it.

Decent but with flaws

We stayed here for six nights & really loved the location.It is in centre of Palma on a beautiful narrow street which is very lively in the evening yet not very noisy.There are lots of restaurants on the street & around.It is very close to the cathedral.We had a nice room with private bathroom & balcony.The place is very clean.& the staff is friendly & helpful.Thanks to Monica who helped us & gave good information about the area.The breakfast is basic but good.I would certainly recommend this place.

Excellent location

The location was really excellent, near good restaurants and very close to the cathedral and shops. Basically in the best area of Palma. Liz is very kind and a great host. The breakfast was simple, but good. If you are luck enough to have the breakfast on the terrace, the experience will be even better. No noise allowed after midnight. Can bother locals that live in the building. Even talking in a low tone, we had some locals very rude asking us to shut up.

Good value for money in the best area of Palma

We stayed there for one night heading for the airport. It was very clean and the location was excellent. You just stepped out in the mid town of Palma and just a few minutes walk to the cathedral and for those who like shopping it is even a better location. It is located in a charming narrow street and on a Saterdaynight we were surprised there was very little noise. Very friendly staff. Very good value for money. I recommend taking a room with a bathroom and paying few euros extra as we did. It is a hostel and it is simple but clean with excellent location.
