Well lets review the positives. The location is excellent only about 15 minutes from the motorway exit for Massa. The restaurant is EXCELLENT and the main reason we returned. 

But the rest is fairly dismal to  be honest. This hotel could use a massive refurbishment. Everything is worn out and tired and almost nothing works as it did or should. 

The first dismal feature is the Managers who really dont wanna be there, mother plus daughter and son, all three are unhappy folks. So it really goes from there, you have the impression that they just want to milk the business and then get the hell out so NO investments are made period.

Shame as many things could be good.

It's a very clean and spacious hotel, dated rooms, but it's a three-star room, naïve room division.

Cleaned and split

Comfortable hotel near everything very quiet and clean and the gentle and very available managers. Every morning they change the bathroom towels, the good and abundant breakfast, the Council 😊👍and if I come back from those parts they definitely returned to that.Hotel.

A hotel that makes you feel at home

We stayed at the hotel for one night on the Via Francigena, the least comfortable of our six stages, and incredibly the most expensive.

Uncomfortable

We stayed in 2013 in February for 1 night. We were looking for a hotel at the last minute to spend two days in Marina di Massa. We opted for this Alberto three stars for the good figure of 85 € for the double room. Small hotel with an unclean appearance (maybe the entrance door gave this impression) but then we reconsidered... After booking a double we found ourselves in a triple (spacious, dignified bathroom with bidet and closed shower). A good flat screen TV, air conditioning and blades ventilator. Our room had the mosquito factory broken but we did not have insect problems.

Hotel without claims but good

We stayed for one night at the end of September. The reception from the owner was like this, the gentleman was much more courteous and available. Breakfast at 5 Euro extra, we didn't enjoy it, so we can't judge. The room was spacious and clean, although dated and a little cold. I couldn't find the remote control to turn on the heat pump, so I guess it wasn't there. The refrigerator didn't work very well.

Okay for a very short stay.

Stayed just one night driving thro Italy from the south of France and the stop was great. Only about 15 minutes from the motorway and easy parking nearby and the room was fine, dated but large and clean.

We ate in the joining trattoria and the food was EXCELLENT, and great value too.

BUT. The three staff members that we met at reception did not really want to be there. Mother checked us in slowly and reluctantly, her son was on duty in the evening and he did not really try too hard to help, and then daughter took our money the next morning without smiling or talking. 

Like people who own the property but do not really want to. They were all dressed in clothes that had seen better days too.....

Basil Fawlty is better....

The hotel may have a somewhat dated appearance, but inside it is well rebuilt, the rooms are spacious and well maintained, clean and with adequate comfort for a few nights. We were in 4 friends at the beginning booking on Booking.com, but on arrival we arrived in 3 that, the very kind receptionist offered us a room equally spacious but made for less than 4 people, saving us something, and breakfast? Offered by them. (Otherwise I think there is a 5€ supplement) They also offer the restaurant space, but we preferred to dine in other restaurants with typical dishes of the cave.

Cheap and cozy hotel in Massa Carrara!

Very quiet hotel, fair price (breakfast not included), clean and spacious room (presence of a third bed and also a small desk), convenient location because halfway between the station and the center.

Great for work.

Hotel just a few steps from downtown Massa, spacious and clean room. Gentle staff. Good quality price ratio. Unique flaws in the walls of a very fine room, you can hear any noise, from the neighbor's shower to the voices to the doors closing. For us it wasn't a big problem either because we slept everywhere or because the hotel wasn't full.
