Hotel Cota 1400

Went here twice this year and definetly will go again this year for skiing! It is a good choise if going to Sinaia for practicing winter spots, altough at 2000 metrs high it is always easy for the weather to go bad! 
Pro's for this hotel: easy acces to the slopes, good food, big rooms, free parking for guests, the lobby

Minuses: avarage cleaning services, restaurant is not looking very good, dirty walls in the rooms and restaurants, extra taxes at reception if paying with vacation tickets.


A good choise for winter sports lovers!

The hotel is old and in need of repair: old furniture, no shower cabins. The dining in the restaurant is normal and varied. The strongest part of the hotel is its location in the center of the Sinai ski resort.

Excellent location for winter sports

I was at the restaurant on Tuesday 18 December 2018 at 13.15. I was the only customer, no food at the kitchen. I was pleased with salami and cheese; after 14.00 there was someone who was dissatisfied with the inactivity of the kitchen and started to scream and injure. The buffet in the parking was also closed. Below 1 km was in the past a charming mountain chalet (Bradet) renovated after 1990; and this is now disbanded. When I was young, it was a joy and some luxury to go to Cota 1400 - now abandonment and desolation. The road was covered with frozen snow, and was quite dangerous (the road belongs to the town hall in Sinaia). No pleasant memory from this day.

For a romantic getaway, we decided to indulge in some exploration of the wilder parts of Europe. Helpful local friends led us to this little-known hotel, on the slopes of a mountain near the royal city of Sinaia. 
It can be reached by car, on a deliciously tortuous road where you can encounter friendly bears, hoping for a crumb of bread or an apple!
The hotel itself is a communist relic, this much is true: but the apartment we rented was very nice, with big bedroom, sunny airy living room and an enormous terrace overlooking misty valleys and rocky crags. 
Hot water at all hours, clean rooms and bedsheets, absolute silence at night - you could only hear the owls hooting in the forest. We admired the mountain peaks under the silvery moon, enjoyed the peace and shared a bottle of tasty Romanian wine on the terrace... what more can one wish for? 
Food was delicious, huge portions, good wine, helpful local waiters, very cheap prices.
All around there are great places to visit - both by cable car and on foot. 
Don't choose this place of you want fast wifi, bars and jacuzzis. 
Do come here if you appreciate unspoilt nature, endless peaks and forests, clear skies and birdsong at sunrise, and the opportunity to spend quality time with your most important "other"!

Romantic hideaway in the heart of the mountains

Huge communist building, not to friendly staff. 
I visited this hotel in interseason, and it was empty.
Maybe in season , when it is full you won't notice all the bad things.
It is a ski in ski out, but not sure if you can reach it in the winter by car.

Christmas 2017 in the mountains of Sinai!

A hotel with an enviable location with a remarkable view and a very low fare, justified by a lavish breakfast, but otherwise nothing special, a hotel without infamy and without praise.

Other information:

I am surprised to see a single hotel alone on a mountain, with a Telecabina only 50 m away.  
Acceptable rooms with nice colouring and a good room temperature. Clean bathroom and towels. Hot water. Nice price.
What else could you wish for ? 

Great food and great view

A very nice place to relax and have a good view of Sinai and the cable car ride up or down is simply spectacular.

The hotel is located in the best possible location, especially if you want to ski or otherwise are a mountain lover. Over the clouds you can find this hotel with incredible views of the mountains and the city itself, 1400 meters above the city. Lifts to Cota 2000 are within a few minutes of the hotel. Cota 2000 MUSS can be easily experienced, whether in winter or in summer. The hotel itself has been renovated, the rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are modern. Fön should borrow at the reception, which are not in the rooms. You can get mainly Romanian television but there are some foreign films in Romania that can be broadcast with soap or a different English-language or English-language delicacy. The hotel is easily accessible, and you can easily get a fresh taste of the food from the hotel, or you can have a quick snack or a quick snack at the hotel, or you can have a quick snack or a quick snack at the hotel, and the restaurant is available for a price of 40 euros or less.
