This hotel should be closed down. When we arrived there was no one at reception. The building itself is terrible with no banisters on some of the stairs and open block work on the walls. I had to leave with my family and find another hotel. The manager could speak Engish at the start and then pretended not to be able to speak English 

Worst place ever 

This place is like ruin,  every thing is broken and falling apart
The swimming pool is dirty. Manager not available for days 😕. If you want to leave you can't, the place have fake positive reviews in booking.com


My worst place ever

I wouldn't recommend booking rooms in this hotel ! I had booked a room at Diva Hotel since March 5th with all the confidence that I'd have to deal with a reliable manager who respects his clients. It was very important for me to stay in that location, as I was attending the salsa festival at Varna Free University in August 11th-13th which I had been already paid in advance. The university is near Diva hotel. But when I arrived at the hotel to check in, the receptionist, who barely spoke English, couldn't find me on the guests list, so I called the manager who said he had to accommodate me in another hotel 15 minute-walk away from Varna Free University because of some problems with the rooms and made me understand that there was no other solution to the problem.So he took my luggage and drove me by his car to Strandja hotel. But when I tried to reach the V.F,University I realized that it was very far, about 30 minutes by foot, there were no cabs, no buses .So, the next day I returned to Diva hotel to change the hotel but the manager was unreachable! He didn't even want to talk to me on the phone to hear what complaints I had. All this ruined my short vacation and of course I couldn't attend all the activities of the festival because of the long distance I had to walk two or three times a day.
So, if you have holiday plans at Diva, think twice...it could become a nightmare!

Vacation at risk

We hastily checked in here because the nearby Hotel Rai, our original hotel for the week's holiday, had cockroaches! Though there were no 'roaches here, it was not much of an improvement. The reception area is strange and looks more like an old, abandoned storage facility in a warehouse. There are no lights and simply lots of old fridges, pool tables and chairs crammed into a dark room. Absolutely nobody was on reception and we had to call a number to alert somebody, who seemed rather startled when I rang! The girl who came and saw us seemed friendly enough, but spoke little English and they did not accept card. Shown to our room and it was not ready, even though we checked in at 3pm... the girl told us that somebody would come along at 6pm. Nobody arrived. When somebody finally did arrive to 'prepare our room', after 4 hours with no loo roll in a dirty room, we were provided with the most bizarre bed covers I have ever seen (photos provided - you've got to see them to believe it). As a 26 year old bloke, the idea of spending the night under pink, princess covers that are designed for an eight year old makes me rather uncomfortable. This place does not even provide towels! Bring your own towels, really? The bathroom is hideously decorated in all pink... is this the idea though? Complex diva? So everything has to be pink themed? Who knows in this place... it's bizarre. The pool is okay but very small and getting there requires you to walk through a load of dark corridors that reminded me of a scene out of Resident Evil or a Silent Hill. Just waiting for a pink zombie to jump out at any second. During my brief visit to the pool, we found a cockroach (second hotel on my holiday for these fella to appear) in the water and kids screaming at each other from the fourth floor down to the pool... safe to say it isn't peaceful here. The cockroach was dead - even they couldn't stand it here and they can withstand a nuclear holocaust. This whole places feels like it was hastily abandoned following some kind of mass evacuation of the area. Every floor and corridor is littered with old furniture. Tables, chairs, arcade machines (darts and that punch bag one on the third floor) fridges... you name it, they've got it piled up here. The total length of our stay was less than 7 hours (2 of which were spent in a restaurant) and we couldn't hack it any longer and left at 11pm. Would've told somebody we were leaving but there was nobody on reception.... and even if there was they wouldn't be able to understand me. Having had shocking experiences at Hotel Rai (next door) and here, we decided to simply book the 5* Grand a Hotel London in Varna. Which was as wonderful as this place was dire. If you want to know what it feels like to stay in a post-apocalyptic world, in an abandoned warehouse and sleep under an eight year old's bed covers... then by all means stay here. If not, avoid like the plague. This dump needs demolishing. All I can say is... thanks for the hybrid leopard and giraffe print pillow case, which I kept as a perpetual reminder to never stay anywhere near here again.

Bizarre, bizarre, BIZARRE...

So, we made a reservation from august 10, 2017 up to august 14, 2017 at Diva Complex from Golden Sands, Bulgaria. 
The reservation was made in March, 2017.
On august 10, we presented at the reception of the hotel, in order to check in.
We found a receptionist that spoke a monosilabic english.
As soon as we mentioned our names and the reservation’s number, she picked up the phone and she made a call.
We couldn’t understand the discussion, because it was in Bulgarian. 
She interrupted in order to ask us what was the price of the booking and then continued talking on the phone.
After she hung up, she told us that we had to wait for the manager.
Being asked to tell us if there was something wrong with our booking, she practically refused to talk to us…..kept saying from time to time : “the manager will come”….
Meanwhile, she was checking in other tourists (arriving later than us).
After about an hour (while we couldn’t prevent ourselves from noticing that the lobby sofa was full of holes), the manager came and told us that there was a problem with the electrical system in the half of the resort and he will have to take us to another facility.
We told him that it was critical for us to stay in that area (Varna Free University) cause we were taking part in a salsa festival which was taking place there.
He said that unfortunately, at that moment, there were no accommodations in that area, but he will take us to Strandja hotel, which is situated  at a 15 minutes walking distance from Varna Free University and very close to the beach.
He put our luggage in the car and drove us to Strandja. 
As we arrived at the hotel, he took our luggage to the reception, talk to the receptionist and left in a hurry, without asking us if we like the location or not.
After we checked in, we went outside, in order to accommodate to the area….
Briefly, we discovered that the facility was way too far from our points of interest (more than a half of our walking distance from VFU  and approximately 20 minutes walking distance from the beach); besides that, the route towards VFU leads through a rough climbing terrain (with areas without light during the evening).
Or course, we couldn’t see all these aspects as we were driven by car…..
Since the location provided by the manager was bellow the standards of the one that we booked, the next day we came back to Diva complex, to talk about these details to him.  The receptionist refused to contact him, telling us that we are not of their concern anymore, cause we are not their clients.
So…also we booked a convenient room in march, we were compelled to remain at hotel Strandja, separated from our friends and  walking the distance from the hotel to VFU or to the beach several times a day.
At least, I can say we came back home “fitter” than ever!!
So if anyone plans to have his holiday at complex Diva, Bulgaria, Golden Sands, Chaika area, forget about it, unless you want to find out that you have no room right in the moment when you want to check in.

TO AVOID, BY ALL MEANS

Because of a disadvantage of online booking, we were transferred to a nearby hotel in the same location, however kind and efficient, the hotel was not bad at all, as we saw.

It's a nice place.

Me and my boyfriend spent 1 week in this hotel . The staff was not speaking English almost at all. Rooms were nice and clean . We had housekeeping everyday and every 2 days the housekeeper was putting roses on the pillows. The outside pool is not so big but is ok if you are too lazy to go to the beach . The closest beach is Kabakum beach , 15 minutes of walk from the hotel. Our deal included 2 meals everyday but food was not good . In the morning was like a buffet, not so many choices but you could find something for a sandwich. The second meal was not eatable. I've ordered a chicken soup and they brought a soup with some kind of ham instead of chicken, and my boyfriend ask for a vegetarian pizza but he got instead a pizza with the same ham that it was in my soup. In the end we decide to go to Varna , wich was 20 min of drive and had great dinner there . 

Bulgarian holiday 

My wife and I stayed at this hotel in mid-May 2017 for one night.  We had a meeting at the very nearby Varna Free University, and a friend of mine who is a native of Varna recommended this hotel to me.  It is now called Complex Diva, but unfortunately Trip Advisor lists the hotel only under its old name.  We did not know what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised.  The free shuttle brought us from the airport to the hotel (quite a distance), and we were given a suite without extra charge even though we had booked only a room.  The suite was comfortable and clean, and the free wifi connection worked very well.  The hotel permitted us to keep our things in our room until after we were done with our meeting at the university.  The walk to the university is only a minute or so.  Suffice to say that we were very happy with the hotel and will certainly stay there again when we need to be back in Varna.

Very good place to stay, now called Complex Diva

We've been out with a friend and a three-year-old child. It's not too big, it's not comfortable. But there's everything you need, it's perfect for a budget vacation. That's where the minus ends. The area is very beautiful, well-kept. It's a wonderful clean pool. It's a nice little playground for children. But perhaps most importantly, it's the exceptionally friendly attitude of all staff.

It's a wonderful little hotel for a quiet vacation with the kids.

The hotel is good enough. The big plus is, of course, breakfast, which was included in the cost of living. The Swedish table with a great selection. Also for breakfast there are fruits and baked goods. For 10 leva you can have lunch and dinner. For lunch I won't say anything. The dinner is again a Swedish table. After dinner I went out with a full bowl. Besides, they serve free wine or beer. The cleanliness: clean enough. At first glance the room is very good. But if you look at it, you can see small streams on the ceiling, a little tired walls, not very comfortable bed, cleaned with rust. But I'm close, it's quite small minutes.
