I don't even want to talk about what it was like anymore. The owners are arrogant, antipathetic and running away when it comes to bringing up a problem.

Running away

Lovely hotel with friendly staff, in a fantastic location. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The only thing I could complain about would be that the walls are very thin and there wasn't a bathroom door but these weren't major problems for the short time we were there. Would definitely recommend staying here if you're on a bit of a budget.

Hotel Raecks

We had a great time there. The room was smaller than i thought but clean and cozy.  The bathroom was spacious and okay. The staff was very friendly and helpful.It is very well located.Many bars and resto around.I enjoyed my short stay there.

Well located and friendly staff

I lived the experience only of the bar; after a birthday party along the canals with a boat, we came here for drinks and sweets Parade from 19 and 22 pm. Drought beers were very tasty but the range of choice was not so broad. Personnel was kind. I enjoyed it.

After party

Hotel and bar look beautiful when you arrive, but room is much smaller than we anticipated, barely larger than the beds. No storage space, only knobs on the wall. We asked for a double room and had 2 single beds pushed together, not ideal. Bathroom was terrible. Peeling paint, no plug for the bath or sink, wobbly toilet, and worst of all, Mould! Shower curtain and bathroom tiles were mouldy. On the positive side, beds were comfortable and breakfast was pretty good. 

Lovely hotel, disappointing room. 

The hotel is located in very good position close to the city center and nightlife. But the floor was sticky and there was a bad smell in the room. Absolutely not a valuable choice considering the price paid

Nice position, smart staff but not so clean!

Great location, great staff but not much else going for this hotel. The rooms were dated and just about clean. We thought we struck lucky getting a room at the side of the hotel as it was noisy, unfortunately the room next door decided to party. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. However reception staff intervened quickly which was great. The staff were helpful but the hotel was not worth the money paid. I wouldn’t return to this hotel. 

Great location and staff, that’s about all

I had a week to work in Amsterdam - and I had two colleagues with me. Since Amsterdam is very expensive, I looked for an alternative and then I found this house. Haarlem is a really very nice neighborhood - and here sitting is also money. The shops and restaurants are all walkable and you really have to feel comfortable here. The rooms are convenient. The hotel is slightly alternative, but more towards Old 68/ Jazz. Across the street is a parking lot, everything is easily accessible, staff friendly. So I would definitely recommend. But I'm still waiting for the bill that should come by mail today (about 6 months).

Overall personal and nice

I stayed at this hotel only one night and I admit that before I left I was somewhat suspicious of some opinions that I had read and which I now consider to be lacking in reality and objectivity. The first thing you encounter when you arrive is a young, enthusiastic and extremely friendly staff. I had read that the hotel has no elevator, but it is not. All floors can be accessed by both elevator and staircase. My room (individual) was small in size but was unpolluted and very comfortable. The bathroom was small, but functional. Perhaps it would need a small refurbishment. The location is excellent for walking to any point in Haarlem. The hotel has a fine wine bar/café in which the possibility of enjoying a lovely tasting by a competent and friendly person can be enjoyed.

Comfortable and centrally located.

Very good breakfast and very cozy, catching up a little bit with the rest. The hotel is expensive and the rooms are very soundproof. If you have partygoers as your neighbor, it's better to party with them than try to sleep.
