Me and my friends stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and were very dissapointed. We stayed in this hotel a few times before over the years. The staff was not nice (only two waiters were friendly), they were rather rude, sublime and slow. Throughout our stay we felt unwelcomed. The pool was full of algae - one day they put algaecid in, but the pool was not cleaned after. The restaurant was very expensive, about twice the price compared to previous years, the same goes for rooms. Chicken breasts on grill cost around 800 din (app 7€), but just 500 m away the price is 400 din (3,5€). At check-out I had to fight over a reciept, because they did not want to give me one. They said: “yeah we already gave one to your friend, why do you need another one” and I am talking about two different reciepts (two different rooms).

Would not recommend.

The restaurant has a beautiful setting, but the food was awful.  The mixed grill tasted off, as though it had been prepared in rancid grease.  The waiter failed to check in with us after serving the meal, and then argued with me when I complained.  I could not cut some of the meat with the knife they provided.  They ended up charging me for what was an inedible meal.  I complain at restaurants once every five years, but this one warrants it.

Right on the river, beautiful views. Excellent service. Fresh river fish on the menu. Local wines ( which is a treat). Short drive from town centre Sremski Karlovci. Plenty of safe and free parking.
Highly recommend.

Beautiful Sunday lunch

My company has organized its annual summit in hotel “Dunav” and I’ve been in charge for organization of this event so I think I can see their service from more than one perspective. 
First impression: this hotel & restaurant has a million dollar terrace! A wonderful view on Danube River, huge space both indoors and outdoors, lots of contents for kids. Staff is very kind, they have experienced waiters that know a lot about wines and can advise you where to buy and what to buy in Sremski Karlovci, which is informal “Wine capital” (on mountain Fruška gora there are more than 160 wineries). Restaurant has their own tamburitza orchestra that additionally improves good impression you’ll get by tasting excellent food and wines. They have variety of wines, but table wine is also excellent (Riesling, bought by the local supplier). Regarding the food I would recommend both veal and lamb roast but personally I think you will make a great mistake if you don’t order the fish. They make excellent fish stew, and their carp and catfish are remarkable! 
Hotel facilities are quite modest. Rooms are not very spacious, but they are clean. Everything is in a good condition. Don’t expect plasma screen, but rooms have refrigerator and safety deposit box. Hotel offers Wi-Fi but I never used it so won’t be judge of that. Since I was organizer of this huge event I have chosen “worst” room for myself and it completely met my expectations. 
What can I say: I saw lots of effort and lots of love that employees built in this hotel. Although it is 80km away from my home I am planning to become a regular guest. Sremski Karlovci is charming little town, and “Dunav” is a good place to take a break from weekly dose of stress. Go there, I am most certain that you’ll fall in love with this place as I did.

Cozy place, excellent food and a million dollar terrace

If you are looking for unique Danube experience, stay in this hotel or come at least for a lunch. I would recommend Dracula stake :-) The view is magic especially during summer days. You can visit Sremski Karlovci, picturesque town at 5 min walk from this hotel.

This restaurant is perfectly located by the quiet yet beautiful Danube river. It is very spacious and decorated with a lot of plants and flowers. It has a unique and unforgetable ambient because of live music (tamburashi) typical for Vojvodina, and some beautiful swans who are "resident guests" of this hotel, and you can feed them from the balcony of the restaurant. Portions are enormously huge and ultra delicious! So make sure that you're starving before you head here. The dishes I would specially like to recommend are: chicken breasts in the sauce of 4 cheese, chicked breasts "a la Danube", and fish stew. Service that we were provided with was extrodinary, the waiter was so polite, kind, quick and well-informed with the content of the menu and the complete hotel offering. He had such well-manners, hospitality, and charisma, and very high professional ethics that we had to ask for his name - Boris. So, congradulations to management for having people like Boris in their service. All in all, the impression is unforgetable!

Extraordinary service and great food

I have visited hotel restaurant twice and both times service was great. Stuff is nice, friendly, professional. Food is really great and by descent price. Portions are big, so two persons can share one meal. Everyone can find something: fish, meat (pork, beef, turkey, chicken), all kind of salads, sweets, even vegetarian menu.
Be smart and ask for a table on the terrace, view is spectacular!

Great restaurant

What a gem in Serbia! Friendly staff, most speak English, and those that do not, try pretty hard to help out. The food is excellent and the view of the mighty Danube is amazing. Our room was big enough for four and did not feel crowded. Take trip on the wine route and stay here!!
