Super location. Frau Mandl is the best in terms of customer care. Brilliant breakfast, cosy atmpsphere and very friendly rooms. Close to the Danube river. The wine is fantastic, lot of nice places where you can stay and drink some wine. Anytime back!

We were excited from the very beginning of our stay. The owner welcomed us so kindly and smiling all the time. Room was beautiful and big enough. Breakfast with great atmosphere and fantastic food on the terrace... can´t wait to return.

Everything worked perfectly even under some limitations given by Covid-19 regulations. The owners were able to accommodate great to it.

Hardly can be better

Family hotel, and as such you feel more at home than in hotel.
I had the honour and privilege to meet the whole family as well as the pets, and enjoy some nice chats and play with dog and cats.
Hotel is facing the Danube river, yet you would not be disturbed by traffic. 
Gorgeous view on the Donau gorges and river, even though the weather was not the right one for taking pictures. 
Ideal for strolling into the village, or take a walk along the Danube. 
The pier to catch the boat is minute away, so is also the ferry across the big river! 
You feel the family touch everywhere, from hall to room, to breakfast room, and ... you get a fantastic "Stube" to taste the local Wachau wines! Don't miss this opportunity to indulge (especially in a rainy day) into a full bouquet glass wine (bottle).. Clearly don't drive afterwards!!
Excellent breakfast, with the locally grown Marillen (apricots) juice ...lovely for the connoisseur.
Flawless wifi, if needed after a full immersion in nature, wines, and hospitality.

Lovely stay in Weissenkirchen

Of the mother and daughter hostesses of this hotel the mother is very hospitable and charming . The daughter however appears to be quite abrupt and more concerned with efficiency than hospitality . The rooms are lovely the breakfast excellent . Be advised parking can be difficult when at full occupancy . There are quite a lot of stairs and rooms facing the road a bit noisy .

Efficiency should not be mistaken for hospitality

We arrived here late one afternoon for a three night stay.  We were greeted by Marilies and shown to our room.  We could see the Danube from our window.  The first thing I wanted to check was the mattress.  It was just right for me in firmness.  The room was a nice size with two chairs for sitting and reading.  The room was not large but it was laid out well.  Everything was nice and clean.  The breakfast room had a good variety of choices for breakfast.  Did I say that I loved the mattress?  You cannot go wrong by staying here.  They take pride in their hotel and taking care of their customers.

Wish we could have stayed longer.

We do a lot of research before booking any hotel, but this time there were too many choices of small unique lodgings to decide. Our friends of Austrian heritage recommended this hotel, having stayed there before. 

Not able to get a booking online for the dates required, I contacted the hotel directly. They emailed me immediately and we made our booking for 3 nights. 

This 4 Star hotel is located immediately across the street from the Danube, just a few steps from the ferry that crosses the river and a few more steps from the landing for river cruises. There’s a small Spar supermarket in the block behind and quite a few places to eat and drink within walking distance. 

Marlies and her mother were very welcoming. Marlies gave us booklets of information in English about the area and the daily boat trips, saving us time by recommending that we take the boat right from Weißenkirchen rather than driving to Melk or Krems and leaving our vehicle there. She also provided recommendations for local restaurants and made a reservation, securing us seats in the terrace directly along the Danube. 

Our room was very comfortable with 2 armchairs, a desk, large closet and good-sized bathroom with a shower and full-sized hairdryer. Please note that there is no elevator, so you’ll have to carry your bags up the stairs, although assistance had been offered. 

Breakfast was the highlight of the day. There was always a hot freshly-prepared egg dish, lots of local buns, breads and pastries, cereal, cheeses, cold cuts, many jams, yogurt with several toppings, and a big choice of juices and drinks. The tables were covered with cloth tablecloths and someone was always at the buffet checking to make sure the food and drinks were not just available in quantity, but that pitchers, cutlery and assorted small dishes were in their proper place and at angles to ensure easy access. Marlies was very precise!  

Highly recommend this unique lodging!  

Great Wachau Experience 

We stayed three nights in September and enjoyed our visit very much. Marlies and her mother were gracious, welcoming, and helpful with advice on side-trips. The breakfasts were outstanding, the room was comfortable, and the location is excellent--just up from the river and ferry landing. We followed Marlies' recommendations on dinner and had good meals in the village. She also encouraged us to take the ferry across, walk down a few kilometers to the ferry at Durnstein, and then explore that interesting location before taking the bus back to Weissenkirchen. Excellent advice and nice excursion.

Nice hotel, even nicer owners

My husband and I recently stayed at the Hotel Garni Donauhof, and couldn't have picked a more lovely place to finish our vacation. We do much research when we are traveling overseas, and we picked a gem of place...Marlies and her mother Gisela were the most welcoming hostesses you could ask for, and their attention to detail for their hotel is superb. Our room was lovely, so comfortable, with a large ensuite bathroom. The breakfasts were out of this world...a huge selection of everything you could think of and all presented on beautifully prepared tables.They made you feel like you were royalty, and to start your morning in such a way was the best. The location of the hotel is just what we love; a little village where you can walk, run, hike, visit the village church and then of course, the Danube is right across the street! But the best part of the hotel, was of course the hostess, Marlies. No one wants to get sick when they are on vacation,but I arrived with a major tooth problem, and Marlies was instrumental in getting me to 2 Dentists while I was in Austria. Her concern and her mother Gisela's concern for me were so kind, and indicative of the wonderful persons they are that run such a terrific establishment. No need to look further than this fabulous hotel/ B & B...Hotel Garni Donauhof!

Lovely hotel in the heart of the Wachau Valley with gracious hostess!

In the middle of the Wachau valley a few steps from the river. The rooms are small but very cozy and there is all you need for a short stay in Wachau. Very comfortable beds. Breakfast is very tasty with wide choice of local seasonal products. The owners are very nice, always ready to help and recommend where to go. We enjoyed our stay at this place. Ask for garden view room (so that you don't hear the cars passing by). A perfect starting point for biking&exploring the valley.
