Delightful hotel. Very central, 50 meters from the market square. With parking (to book!). Large enough rooms, tastefully furnished, comfortable beds, bathroom with sink or shower and necessary for cleaning, soft towels. Very rich and varied breakfast, sweet and salty, with fruit, vegetables, salts, cheeses, jams, cakes... Very kind and available staff. The only negative note for which I do not give the maximum: there is no elevator and the rooms are on 3 floors.

We arrived to check in when the Levites were read to us for rules of conduct, and we were confronted with prejudice, even though this was our first visit there... a no go... we were shocked and mega amazed.

I'm not going anywhere.

Actually, it was a nice three-star hotel, unfortunately we had unpleasant guests in rooms 16 and 19 at night. We were completely bitten by bedbugs. The reaction to the complaint was:

Help, totally messed up.

The hotel is very central. You are in the historic old town in a few minutes. The rooms are, forgive the pun, old-fashioned, but clean and reasonably equipped. The breakfast booked was also sufficient, the service staff was always very nice and competent. Unfortunately, there are no hotel parking spaces, so you have to park in the car in the car park.

A charming weekend in Bamberg

From a hotel in the immediate vicinity of the city centre, you would expect much more, but... after going up to the 3rd floor, without a lift, I found myself in a warm room without even a fan! In return, however, there were two bottles of mineral water (obviously more than lukewarm) as a welcome homage (sic!) at a cost of €2.90 each!

Disillusionment and lack of style

We were there for dinner to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The service was extremely nice and friendly. The cook didn't have his best day that evening, but the food was good overall. The price-performance ratio is okay. I'll give the roast a second chance on occasion. I recommend everything!

Good-natured cuisine in the heart of Bamberg

The Wilde Rose is situated in the heart of the old town in Bamberg which is a world heritage site. As a consequence it is in a very old building and the rooms are not the most modern, however the room we had was large clean, comfortable and quiet (especially as there is a bar/restaurant downstairs).
There is no lift and no tea and coffee making facility in the rooms, neither is there air conditioning, although the thick walls of the building keep it fairly cool.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful and checking in was quick and easy.
The continental breakfast buffet (no fry ups here) is really excellent, with fresh meats, cheese and fruit and all the usual cereals.
There is also a tray of fresh fruit in the hallway for you to help yourself to.
The hotel is twinned with a nearby beer garden and therefore has its own beer which is very good.
If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay that isn't too fussy or fancy I would heartily recommend the Wilde Rose and would not hesitate to stay again.

Old world charm

On my second visit, I noticed some improvements. If I still had stains and a lack of bright light in the bathroom on my first visit, this time the bathroom was bright enough and the ceiling was stainless. The renovation work was still going on (the hallway when I arrived) - I don't know why this takes so long. The staff was very friendly again, especially the staff at the restaurant, where I enjoyed a good and varied breakfast again.

Location: pedestrian zone island city, very central rooms: single room, fairly newly furnished, quite small bathroom: fairly new, attractive breakfast. decent selection (included price) staff: friendly, helpful quiet, at least on Good Friday. clean. sections: no elevator, food smell from the kitchen (not in the room), WiFi quite mau. In particular, good price-performance ratio.

Great location, nice room, good value for money.

We wandered the streets of Bamberg looking only for a pub. There are lots, I hear you say, but only if you know where they are.
We spotted Wilde Rose from a distance, almost hidden behind a VW truck. It was serendipitous (won’t hurt you to look the word up) that we found it at all.
They brew their own beer, I understand. The Weissbier is certainly as good as anything from Munich but that's all I could fit in. They cook an excellent regional cuisine that took up the remaining space..
I recommend Wilde Rose for either beer or food.
