We were very impressed with this quiet hotel in Winterthur. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was great! The owners/hosts were very friendly and helpful. The location is in a very quiet area, with no "road noise".

Chaming hotel ... lovely owners... quiet location.

The hotel was once a country estate owned by a mercenary leader of Napoleon, as I heard. I was received kindly. The rooms are simply furnished, not to mention old-fashioned. I was very surprised that there are still rooms furnished like this. Well, it was clean. The bed was good. Very quiet. Beautiful garden and a great walk along the Eulach. A big breakfast in a hall like a gallery. I would say for one night it's okay.

A comfortable retreat

The rooms are clean, but a little worn out. Breakfast is fine, nothing special. But I wouldn't book with breakfast again. Marmalade was partially dried. For one night okay, but nothing more.

All right for a short stay.

We stayed a night here and found it quiet, charming, comfortable and clean. There was a sweet welcome when we arrived, a feeling of informality, and we liked very much the colours and design of our room. The beds were very comfortable.The fittings were practical and well considered. The breakfast was varied and copious in choice. The atmosphere was very cosy. The owner had bought paintings from all over the place when travelling and they make it very joyous. Parking was easy and close to the entrance. The only shortcoming, typical of Swiss hotels ( usually much less pleasant than this one) was a lack of a fan or air conditioning. Apparently the latter is not legal in Switzerland.

Very good quiet well designed hotel

Very unfriendly host, which was very irritating as a guest. Breakfast was not ready at 8.15am correctly, but furniture and laundry were consumed. Dogs are allowed. Quiet location. Parking in front of the house is convenient.

Never again

It is a small, family-owned establishment. The reception is neat and warm. The couple speaks very well French. The rooms are very clean and the price ratio is excellent. Breakfast is plentiful (salted and sweet) and quality products. By bus or car, the centre of Winterthur is a few minutes away.

A charming little hotel

If you carry little luggage, it is advisable to reach the Hessengütli Hotel on foot along the Eulach River walkway. A wonderful walk, especially in the evening before bedtime. The hotel used to be the estate of Mr. Hessen, a mercenary leader who is said to have been in the service of Napoleon I. The rooms are simple furnished but comfortable. Good beds. Quiet location. Wi-Fi connection. Rich breakfast in a room that comes as a picture gallery. Scenes from all over the world, including Chinese and South American realism of the 1960s. A large gallery of genres that used to be used as a dance gallery. Nice reception, cheap prices.

Landgasthof near the city

The Hotel Hessenguetli has definitely seen its best years. It's easy, from the point of view of the facilities, to match the two stars. So small rooms, small bathroom, good bed, but the room completely without atmosphere. Quite unpleasant, the curtain would have deserved a laundry once. The breakfast room is large and bright, but the furniture is as unpleasant as the room facilities. The key is the pictures on the walls in the breakfast, a wild style mix. Breakfast was ok.

Small hotel, okay for one night.

If you like the quiet and immediate proximity of the city, the cleanliness and the family's hospitality, Hessenguetli is the ideal place for a weekend stay, and we recommend the small restaurant nearby, which is run by Italians and offers excellent pasta.

The charm of a starless hotel

This hotel is quiet and not far from downtown Winterthour (3-4 minutes by car, 10-15 minutes on foot). We had a very large room that was arranged in a simple but very clean way. Very good bed. For breakfast, there was everything: charcuterie, cheese, egg, Viennese, various kinds of bread, yogurt, various cereals, fresh fruit, tea, coffee, juice... The bosses are adorable! We made the Technorama and we recommend this hotel.
