The service here particularly from Julia is off the scale. The beer and other drinks are value compared to many places in Saalbach. She really looked after us as we did go there most nights. She advised us where we could sit as we were not eating. Brilliant🤩

Julia is a hero

Perfect location and all the must-haves for a skiing holiday - comfortable rooms, generous breakfasts catering to every taste, and excellent ski store which produced toasty warm boots every morning. We also enjoyed the sauna and hot tub to soothe aching limbs - swimwear optional so you have been warned! No residents lounge but always room for games at a dining table if needed.
Four-course dinners were traditional and very generous on the meat front. But it’s fine to decline a course. And we found lunchtime salads up the mountain held off the scurvy 😉
So many ski hotels are so focused on “processing” residents at either end of the day that they neglect to treat us as guests. The lovely staff made us feel so welcome every day and really contributed to an excellent holiday

Traditional, friendly and … close to all lifts!

We had diner on the terrace of this hotel. Very friendly staff. We ordered schnitzel with fries and got so much schnitzel that we actually couldn't finish our plates. Tasted all very well. Value for money

Great Schnitzels

We have just spent a week staying at Hotel Mitterer and were delighted with our choice. It is an ideal venue for a skiing break, a very short walk to the three main lifts, and at the heart of Saalbach. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the little spa very welcome, the food was plentiful and very tasty, and the staff kind and caring. There's also a sense of history here, as the hotel has been run by the same family since 1950s, and the people that stay have often been coming back year after year. It is a modest hotel, without the swankiness of other Saalbach hotels, but with an honesty and pleasantness that you may not find elsewhere. Thank you Mitterer staff for a lovely week.

A lovely family-run hotel, very central and good value for money

This trip was my third time in this small family-run hotel in Saalbach & I like it more every time!  The staff are very friendly & there is a nice homely atmosphere around the place.  Guests return here year after year and although we are relatively new to The Mitterer, we‘ve already met people again from the previous two years! It‘s cozy, traditional and just perfect to “come home to” after a day on the slopes!! 
The rooms are not overly spacious, but big enough (balconies on some) and are spotlessly clean. Prices also very good! Can’t wait to back in 2021⛷⛷

Perfect ski holiday hotel

Great value for this fairly modest hotel that ticked all our boxes for a group ski holiday in Saalbach. Great location just a few minutes walk from each of the three gondolas up the slopes, middle of the high street for apres ski. Loved the skiing and the apres. Rooms were quite small, but clean and beds were comfy. Good breakfasts and fairly standard Austrian fare in the evenings. If you’re looking for a good value, clean hotel, this may be the place

Great location

Kicking off a week of snowboarding, we stopped at Mitterer for a schnitzel and beer. I had a delicious schnitzel and a Weizen. Good, friendly service and comfortable seating. Prices are fair too. Well recommended!

I stayed here using the hotels apartments.
The apartments were first class and very convenient to the ski lifts.
The owners were very friendly and welcoming, organising us some food basics as the supermarkets were closed due to a bank holiday.
The owner even drove us to the medical centre when my wife was suddenly taken ill.
Will definitely be staying here again.Close to lifts, restaurants, apres ski but very quiet at night-perfect.



Great service

We booked half board plus lunchroom. When we were going to dinner, the restaurant was closed. There was no lunchroom either. So we asked the chefs that the restaurant doesn't open until the main season and it would be a mistake for booking.com to offer dinner with us. The rooms and bathroom are small but at least very clean. The quality of sleep is also good. The location is perfect, of course, all the elevators can be reached in a few minutes. The sauna will only be turned on from 4:00 to 6:00 PM!!! The sauna itself is small, up to four people can sit. Max. 8 seats. However, there are only 5 beds to rest! The others do not have to stand. We will certainly not come here anymore.

All too small and unfriendly bosses

Rooms and bathrooms are quite small, but convenient and clean. Sauna and restroom in the basement, also small. Breakfast buffet and dinner very good! Chef and all the services very friendly, attentive. The location of the hotel right in the center of Saalbach is great, all trains can be reached in a few minutes on foot. Of course you can also hear the nightlife, not quite optimal for holidaymakers. Very good price-performance ratio!
