This hotel was a nice place to stay in, but after entering a nice, warm room at first, the furniture was VERY low-end, only to be thrown away! This hotel made me feel like a roadie, besides, at breakfast there were only single men. The pool was completely green, you couldn't even see the bottom... in short, a hotel with little interest.

A low-end road

I still don't understand why people go to Croatia. This little town of vodka, in the late spring, it's cold, desolate, very sad. No one around, almost all closed. I found this hotel on Booking. Even though I was the only guest, or maybe one of the few, they put me in a lounge. Even if I was alone, it would have been nice to give me a double bed.

Pizza good squid fry exceptional and prices in standard recommended especially for those who have a large ducal family and very welcoming staff even if they do not speak Italian highly recommended

The reception personnel is helpful and polite but the restaurant staff is awful. 
A couple of times they served us dessert during the main course, also they took us main course while we were still eating it but turned to salad at the moment.
During our stay (7 days), we would pick between 3 dinner dishes for the for the next day. It was always pizza which is fine, the rest is basic (usually pork and some form of potatoes). Small portions, taste okeish, presentation horror. Selection of food for breakfast is fine,  but the salami and cheese were left at the table which is not cooled so they would get all greasy, fruit is a bit old, caffee - the cheapest kind. 
Rooms are small but relatively tidy. Could be cleaned better. The walls are so thin you could practically hear the person in the next room breathe.
Poll is nice.

Poor value for money

Room with 3 simple beds whereas we are a couple with 2 children (precision the 5 year old girl does not count for them), nice decoration. Parking with small places difficult to park. Small dej in proper buffet but no specialties, resassort difficult so not all disposal. Right pool. Restaurant waiting more than average, menu imposed and we discover the price only at the end. Service at the head of the customer, we did not have the right... Excentric and difficult to park in the city center, it is better to go there on foot (25 good minutes).

I just don’t get such good rating, cause we entered in dirty room. Dirty carpets, dust, someones hair in the sink and on the floors, balcony never touched, window glass full of someones fingerprints... They just changed bed sheet. 
Room where they served breakfast was sooo hot that salami and cheese were all shiny from fat and they have worst coffee. Bread slices thick and old more than a day. Fruit is leftover dessert from yesterdays dinner. 
And for dinner, beside poor choice (pizza always!, and most often pork and potato) one time we got cold fish and lasagne, one time we were waiting for pizzas but they gave us dessert before it and it was ice cream! 
Personnel... most of the time they are polite but something is missing.
And the pool! The brightest part of Hotel Orion! No objections:) 



Don’t get the good rate

My first visit to this hotel was a wonderful experience, from accomodation,food and very
pleasant staff,always at your service,for anything you need,highly reccomended,especially for families with small children,and if you are looking for peaceful adriatic  oasis

Accomodation

This was the 2nd time in Vodice in 2 years, and both times we stayed in Orion. The hotel is a basic apart/motel style, good enough if you have no extra needs, just a bed. The rooms are tiny, the beds are a bit old, but cannot complain about the cleanliness. I had some mosquitos both times, now I was prepared to fight, with the spray. The dinner was simple (based on half board) but tasty, the breakfast was easy, the juices were tasteless... anyway, I think the price/value balance is okay. Big disadvantage that there is no elevator, not easy to climb up for older or disabled people.

Basic accomodation, good service

Our first ever visit to Vodice and Croatia in general. It would have been great if not the ORION HOTEL. We would strongly discourage anyone to stay there. Many reasons for that. Starting with food...the only pleasant thing there was pizza, otherwise the choice we've had within half board was tasteless, boring (tomato and chicken soup alternate days?!) and you could only choose from 3 set menu options (where only main course was specified: otherwise it said "soup" and "dessert"- pretty much lottery!).  Breakfast buffet was also very basic (lukewarm eggs and frankfurters). 

Then....you are basically not allowed to do anything at the pool area: no flip flops, mattresses or your own soft drinks allowed! We were surprised we were actually allowed to swim. The older women who appeared to be the owner, took one of our friend's drinks and thrown it behind the fence!! OUTRGEOUS! She was a nightmare- yelling at us and other guests in her own language, pulling faces etc. We also found it embarrassing when she verbally abused her staff who was actually serving us at the time!
Pool opening hours were random- we were told it was between 9-21, and to our dissappoitment, we found pool being cleaned at 10 am, and when asked the staff how long would it be- she said "until it gets cleaned".
Our room was very basic, 2 stars rather than 3 (shower cabin was broken). 
There was a...."gym"??! In the shed outside- full of spider cobs and dust, all dirty and out of service (which could actually be dangerous!)



PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW!!! IT CAN SAVE YOUR NERVES and ££!

The hotel is ideally located, just outside the city and a few minutes walk from the center. Spacious rooms and beautiful infrastructure (large pool and lounges). Where the bat hurts is at the level of service and maintaining a minimum of compliance with certain rules. The pool water was finally messy or dirty because people did not shower before bathing... People (and not children) were dipping loudly in the water while it was forbidden. The sheets were dirty and the soundproofing makes it desirable and, cherry on the cake, we passed the vacuum in front of our room at 7am! Dommulo this hotel would have access to the bathroom but I don't recommend using them so obviously in the final corner of the cake.
