Rachel and Tim were excellent hosts, and their Family Room was the perfect fit for our family of four. This was one of the few lodging options that fit us well. The place is quaint and beautifully situated on the river. The lounge area downstairs was great and allowed us to store some items in the fridge. Breakfast each day was great and the team provided answers to our questions. Would definitely stay here again

Quaint place for family of four

Wow! We're on day 2 of our stay here and I just had to leave a review so I don't forget later... Lol.
This hotel is great!! The location is incredible and our room 201 overlooks the river and stunning mountains all around! Beautiful view.
Very clean room. The whole hotel seems renovated, from the large wide spiral stairwell that's beautifully tiled, to the room itself with its wooden floor and beautiful bathroom tiles.
The room is a nice size with plenty of room for your things (unless you travel with 8 full size suitcases. In that case you may have a problem 😄).

The bathroom is small but wonderful. There's actually a medicine cabinet with a mirror! Can't remember the last time I had a medicine cabinet in a hotel room! The shower is nice and hot and has a raised ledge so water stays inside!

*They don't provide conditioner so take into account and bring your own.

Breakfast is nice. Great bread, good eggs, great coffee, and all kinds of other things.

The ladies that run the place are SO nice. Very responsive via email, accommodating, friendly... What more can you ask for??

Bottom line - great location, super clean, looks newly renovated, good breakfast... Would highly recommend! 

Fantastic hotel! 

Had a lovely lunch with our local friends who took us here.  Lovely food and drinks with beautiful service from the Aussie/Suisse owners. Great position away from the hustle of town.  Highly recommend the goulash and soup for lunch.  Will recommend.

Lovely experience

In the afternoon we had a coffee and a fine local craft beer. We had a nice cheesecake. It had a nice terrace, thankfully we still had a place. Very friendly and friendly service. I highly recommend it, especially since it's out of the tourist rush and still not far away.

Fine and cozy

Just back from an Amazzzzzing 8 days in Switzerland, 7 of them spent in The Aarburg Hotel. Can't fault the place in terms of comfort, accessibility to the Alps & friendly staff. Their continental breakfast was enough to fuel me till lunch & there's no shortage of food shops around for picking up picnic bits. Lots of people dropping by to their cafe & food looked great. Would have liked the option of an earlier breakfast (8-10am currently) but it was only a very minor issue for me. Located in the nicer part of town about 20min beautiful walk along the river from the train station. It was lovely to sit out by the river in the evening & watch the world (& ducks) go by. Stayed in their only single room which was located at the front overlooking the river, a great place for people watching in the evening. No TV in the room but it didn't bother me as i spent very little time in the hotel. No regrets staying here & i'll be back once the legs have recovered after all the hiking!

Fantastic location and outlook,  friendly, helpful and efficient staff.  Lounge area great for meeting up before heading out for the night. Breakfasts ticked the box with choice of hot and cold foods.  Gluten free options covered

Room with a jung view

Absolutely fabulous small hotel with the most friendly, helpful and kind staff.  Bedroom was spotless, well fitted out.  The bathroom was small but shower was powerful, albeit the shower tray was a little slippy.  We had a river view which was just lovely. Breakfast offered a good selection and everything was very fresh.  You have a key for the side door so when the cafe closes at 7pm you can come and go as you please. There is a residents lounge which offers tea/coffee making facilities, a microwave and a fridge so you can pop in anything you want to keep cool.  We had a couple of drinks sitting on the terrace watching the world go by which was very relaxing.  We took the bus from the train station but you could walk. This hotel is very well run with the most friendly staff.  They really are wonderful.  Well done and thank you.

Fabulous hotel with the best staff

Lovely little hotel in the centre of Interlaken. Stayed for a few days with our three teenagers and had a great stay. Beautiful setting overlooking the river, really couldn’t beat sitting in the cafe in the sunshine enjoying a coffee. Oh, and the food, what can I say, amazing. Everything we had there was brilliant - eggs Benedict and the berry French toast were particular favourites. But possibly even better than the food is the amazing staff, friendly and helpful doesn’t cut it as a description. They really did go above and beyond and provided excellent recommendations and tips for things to do/go too. We will definitely return. Interlaken itself is just stunning and so much to do and see locally.

Fabulous hotel, excellent food/coffee and staff

This place is an utter disgrace .
I booked it to celebrate my 70th birthday . I lasted 3 hours before I left .What the owner Tim doesn’t tell you is that the whole Hotel is locked off at 7.00 pm It means that apart from staying in your room with only a bed or spending time in what is described as a residents lounge llike you would find in a care home you have to walk about Interlaken in evening .I would not touch this place with a barge pole .Owner Tim puts in minimum effort for maximum return .

Disgraceful place

The coffee in the morning was amazing! Loved the expresso and the eggs. The location is great, we got free public transportation and great tips to our visit. The linen and towels could be better, but overall was a pleasant experience that made interlaken even better
