Coolest hotel i have  ever seen with mesmerising view  with pool, hygiene ,cleaness,   You can visit with family also its very familiar hotel also . Room service are good  great food , clean pool and many games to play 

Great hotel

Great location 3 1/2 blocks from Plaza Grande and 1/2 block from Santa Lucia park. Quiet respite from Merida's hustle and bustle. Clean rooms and a bigger pool than most hotels in this price range. Never more than a 2 minute wait for hot water. WiFi worked in my room with the door closed.

Best Bang for the Buck

I have been staying in the Hotel San Juan for 12 years - probably 30 visits. Good location, great price, friendly staff and good, basic room. However, on my last 2 trips I have had money stolen from me by one of the maids - same one each time. The last time, two weeks ago, I came back to the room, which was unmade-up and went for a swim; came back and found the room was made-up and when I went to convert some USD I found $200 missing from my wallet. I had been watching my funds carefully because I had lost my debit card and was running low on cash, so there was no mistake. I reported this to the manager via email on Oct. 19th and have not heard back. They were unresponsive to my 1st loss in March, 2017. So BEWARE!

Many visits but a problemnow

The location is ok. The Building is old. It's near most of the places you want to see as a tourist. But .....
my rental by booking not includes breakfast. I was located at the ground floor. Maybe because of that fact, I had many Mosquitos in the room. And last but not least: from Tuesday until Sunday the Club next to the Hotel plays Music until 2am.

Music until 2am

The location is great. It's near most of the places you want to see as a tourist.
You have to deposit money to be able to use television. The hotel is a little bit old and has insects inside rooms. Electricity plugs is not availale in rooms just in bathrooms. And no drinking water.

Good location, poor condition

Not the best hotel, but not the worst. It's a few blocks from the main square in downtown, so it has a great location. It's fairly cheap and the rooms are usually clean. Last time I was there they didn't have a restaurant, maybe that's changed. The hotel is pretty much basic, WiFi wasn't the best, you had to go to the lobby to get good signal. If you're not looking for something fancy, or impressive, and want something basic just to spend the night, this is your place.

Not bad

This is very much a budget hotel but centrally located. The rooms face away from the street into the courtyard  dominated by a swimming pool. This means there's not much light inside which creates an oppressive feeling.  But you don't have to worry about noise.  In general, hotel urgently needs a facelift. Door latches and knobs don't often function, the plastic toilet seats are really cheap and the water pressure is abysmal. Stay here if you desperately need to save money. I will not stay again.

Budget Hotel

Location is good, and the staff are very nice and helpful.  The room we were given had not been thoroughly cleaned in some time.  The walls were very dirty and there were footprints on the wall in several places.  The inside lock was a bent piece of metal that didn’t fit over a u-bolt it was intended to lock on…corner room with a window that looked at a wall.

Not very clean

Very budget hotel. We needed it for one night and the photos tricked us in thinking this was a decent hotel. It is so run down and dilapidated looking. Yes, it's inexpensive but I do not recommend this hotel. Sheets and pillows were dingy and air conditioning worked but only on high setting and I either froze or roasted during the night. Couldn't wait to get out of there. Only saving grace is that it's a great location.
