It's a decent 3 Star Hotel, right on the Mall road. The Dalai Lama temple is just 150 meters away and the Main Square is about 100 meters away.
Being located where it is, it's a place of absolute convenience. All good restaurants and cafes are super close and the street has an absolute buzzing atmosphere.
We were in Room no 301, which had a Large bed and a bunk bed. And the balcony of the room overlooked the gorgeous Valley. The room and the linens were clean. And cleaning was done everyday.
We also took up the room heater on chargeable basis.
The hotel also has a nice roof top restaurant.

The biggest plus of the hotel, I must say is Kunal, who was so wonderful. He helped up arrange taxis, was a great conversationalist and helped us with everything we needed.
A lot of Gratitude to Sapphire, Kunal and the entire staff to make our stay so comfortable!

About Hotel Location :-  The hotel is located at a very prime location.  Both the main market and Dalai Lama Temple is at a walking distance from the hotel. It taken only one minute to reach both the places.

About Room:-  I booked a family suite which was very spacious and the view from the room was amazing.  As there were some minor issues in the room I requested the Manager to give me some other room.  They immediately shifted me to another room which was also very spacious, clean and with an amazing view from balcony.  

About Food:-  If your prefer home made food (ghar ke khana) then you need not have to go outside the hotel to eat.  Moreover there are very few restaurants in Mcleodganj where you can get good food and the prices are very high. 

About Management:-  The Managers of the Hotel Mr. Anil Kumar and one another manager (I forget his name) were very nice persons, very helpful and soft spoken.  

I visited Mcleodganj with family.  Our overall experience at this hotel was very good. I would like to stay at this hotel again,  if I visit Mcleodganj again in future.

Nice place to stay

Except the size of the room , there’s nothing good about this hotel. Dirty towels , dirty blankets , rude manager , only soaps in the name of toiletries . Too it all , no heating - for a heater pay extra . Made a huge mistake staying here. Would never recommend

Strictly to be avoided

The view from the hotel was soo mesmerizing that my friend and i loved to spend time just looking out of the balcony. 
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, the owner of the hotel guided us in and out even after check out.. 
Would love to stay again in the same place when i visit McLeod. 

Superb

I booked this hotel through make my trip and came all the way from Dubai after booking online, have seen pictures and few ratings of this hotel online and thought it would be a nice hotel.
As I checked in I found the most dirtiest room I have ever seen in hotel, then I called the guys to change that dirty linen of my bed.
There were no water, no glass, no fixed tv, no mini bar fridge, no hot eater cattle, no slippers like nothing as I have seen online.
Then one of the manager kind of guy came he showed me a different room which was a little batter, so I decided to move there and told them I’ll go out n they can set it.
Later I came back found no glasses so called for it then in minutes I got a call from kitchen staff SAYING WHY R U NOT ASKING EVERYTHING TOGETHER AND BECOMING VIP, hell these guys forget they are working, so the staff came told me u can complain sir n u just asked the glass only u haven’t order anything, then I offer him money for glass, then he left

Worst hotel ever!!

That was very good hotel we stayed there 3 night 19 to 22 Jan 19. We have get room no 501 really that was good room we have PA I'd with paytm heater was not include should be include @300penight but only heater rent we have paid in cash they demand for cash room rent.if you want to visit in McLeod sapphire is the best hotel

Hotel review

I booked this hotel in December 2017 for stay in May 2018. I spoke to the Manager Mr. Vikas and made 50 percent advance payment. In between I spoke to Vikas twice and not once did he reveal that the hotel has closed down. One the day of arrival we kept looking all over Mcleodganj looking for this hotel but couldn't find. I called Mr. Vikas and he gave some directions but we still couldn't locate. We asked some locals and came to know that the hotel has been closed down and the guests of this hotel are generally redirected to hotel Shivalik. At that moment I called Mr. Vikas and confronted him to which he asked whether I had received any email stated my booking has been shifted. I told him I had not received any such email. He asked me to wait at the Hotel Shivalik lobby until he makes some arrangement either at Shivalik or some other hotel. While waiting at Shivalik, we heard a guest complaining about no water for past two days. That prompted me to call Vikas and ask him to refund my advance immediately and I told him that I do not want any assistance from him. This was primarily because I had lost trust in him and his set of cronies who run either closed down or substandard hotel. I am not going to elaborate on the stress and difficulty of this situation because any one who has travelled would know how much distress this caused us. The only good thing is he returned the 50 percent advance though ideally it should be with interest for 5 months and payment for difficulty caused. Later on, I saw the place where this hotel should have been. Its currently broken and closed. Even if it opens in future or this Mr. Vikas opens a new hotel, save yourself some agony and please do not do any bookings with this fraudster.

Very good hotel.  I stayed in November 2017.  This very good money value hotel in upper mcleodganj. Service is slightly slow. Premium room is so big and clean with modern look. Bathroom are clean with modern amenities and also hot and cold water. But no laundry service. Location of this hotel is very good. This hotel situated in middle of market and just 5 minutes walking distance from DALAI LAMA Temple. 

Good location and money value hotel

I stayed here from 31st july to 2 nd august and booked 2 rooms- 302,303...perfect location of the hotel.. just 2-3 mins from the main square..stay was comfortable.. spacious well maintained rooms with balcony where u get nice view of the valley.. staff was extra polite and ready to help u anytime..will surely book this property when i visit macleodganj in the near future and recommend  this property to my fellow travelers too... nd special thanks to front desk girl( srry i dont knw her name) for her nice gesture...HAPPY HOLIDAYS friends

One recommendation for hotel please try to maintain backside of your hotel clean too... it disturbs the view of the valley from balcony at times... rest everything is good on part of hotel

Full value for money

It was an awesome and comfortable stay at hotel sapphire,  
We enjoyed our stay of three nights. 
Rooms were really spacious with good size balcony, and their food was also very delicious.
