We had booking with our good old time tested tour agent 4 month back. We had booking printed confirmations with us. We were on tour to rajasthan and reached by road after visiting jaisalmer.
 Our journey of hotel vallabh , jaisalmer started with wrong directions shown on Google map. Before reaching to hotel a day before we confirmed on phone.

After reaching the hotel,  a lady at reception reconfirmed that we are booked for 4 rooms. We were booked for 3 . Suddenly I remembered at initially 4 months ago we booked for 4 rooms subsequently we paid for 3 and cancelled one. 

Lady asked me if I want rooms on ground floor or 2nd floor. I was really excited because I came from jodhpur where we had great experience with hotel.I asked the difference and opted for ground floor. But things started going wrong. I was given 3 double beded  rooms. However I booked for 3 triple beded rooms. Reception desk answered it's busy season. We have alloted these rooms to others. But in order to compensate the mistake she offered the 4th room which any way they kept for us by mistake.

 I accepted it. After getting the room we felt that room was not clean. Blanket was torn and rooms were too small for the rates they were booking the same. But soon I realized non of the AC did work. 

Reception responded- we deal with lot of customer. You have been allotted NON AC rooms. She said your voucher does not mention AC/NON AC means non AC.  And she also said that she has done mercy on us with 4th room so we have to cooperate.We really got confused because our tour manager for these many years has never ever given us NON AC rooms even in winter. Howere, I decided to confirm with him again. Our tour operator suddenly got confused and said he has paid for AC. 

He might have made few phone calls. I was called after few minutes and told that my booking is for AC rooms. Now, by this time reception lady has started big roaring fight on mobile phone with some other customer. Though I was waiting in front of her she kept on fighting unprofessionally with local slangs. 

Now I was worried. But she agreed to make 3 out of 4 rooms AC because no other room is vacant. Now I was forced because I made all payments 4 months back. We agreed for the condition because it was 8pm and we had only 1 night stay.[18/10 22:32] Dr. Abhishek Kumar Sanyal: By this time. I saw though the AC was on it did not cooling. I tried calling reception with phone available but it was dead. I went and faced the lady again. It seems she knew this earlier. She sent someone who changed manual settings and now AC was working. Similar experience we had in my other rooms. But one of 3Ac room did work well. When informed I was told   we are making too many complains.
[18/10 22:32] Dr. Abhishek Kumar Sanyal: We thought we will change the rooms but one young boy was ordered and he went somewhere and AC was started. Then I realised these AC's are working but they do not have switch to turn it off/on. All is controlled exclusively by reception lady.
[18/10 22:32] Dr. Abhishek Kumar Sanyal: Again after half an hour later one of our room was shifted to other floor with functional room. And we realized there were many empty AC beds.
[18/10 22:52] Dr. Abhishek Kumar Sanyal: Now once we ignored dirty cushion and ash tray , we looked our empty jar for water. Now because phone did not work I again went to beg for water and asked for an extra 1 bottle so that I need not come again. Room service boy gave only 1 jar and smartly replied other bottel/ containers all are busy somewhere else.
[18/10 23:02] Dr. Abhishek Kumar Sanyal: One of my friend to the trip a last minute entry booked hotel just 10 days back for rs 900/day online. We had dinner together and shared my experience. I went to check his room. Immediately I could understand the difference. Hotel vallabh darshan was no match to it in terms of quality and services. 

Summary: I end up staying in hotel room rs2300/ day with 4 months prior booking and my friend who stayed less than 50 meters away paid rs900/day 10 days ago and had much better services.
[19/10 08:09] Dr. Abhishek Kumar Sanyal: At morning 6 am , AC stopped working. You must have realised why AC has stopped.

Good things about the place is relatively good interior and better toilets.

Apart from the cost this place may be considered ok to stay but the the administrator and rules made are not friendly and shows cheating attitude of owner.

Horrible experience

Our entire Rajasthan trip was unplanned - especially, the Jaisalmer part. We didn't have many choices - so went to this hotel as we saw some reviews on the net. It is a budget hotel, so don't expect much. But it was reasonably good with good location, food and ok service.Anyways, when we come to Rajasthan, rather than being inside, you prefer to be outside. This hotel serves most of your needs in a budget way. Overall good experience. We liked Jaisalmer (and the desert of course) very much :)

Budget hotel in Jaisalmer

During our recent Rajasthan tour we stayed here for a night.

The hotel looks fine from outside and has an okay interior with respectable reception area.

We got a rather modest, three bed, non AC room with basic amenities. The room was fine....not ultra clean but okay clean. My advice is that before taking a room....do check the room and bathroom connectivity as some of them have a funny opening inbetween which is a bit inconvinient.

We did not order any room service so cannot comment on that but the staff people seemed helpful. We did not see any lift here. So may be check your floor in case you have trouble climbing stairs.

A modest open-air roof top kitchen/eating area is available though we did not have food from the hotel as our group had our own food facility.

They also have a desert safari linkup and this was really awesome. We stayed in the desert in tents for one night. Each tent had an attached bath, toilet. A king size bed with side table. They provide all types of facilities there including a complimentary traditional Rajasthani song and dance show in evenings. There is a fully functional restaurant as well. And all of this in the middle of the desert!

When on a budget, this seemed to be a perfect stay for us. It was a good stay for us.

Affordable with basic amenities and quite clean

I am staying in this hotel in the month of October,2015.We are taking 25 rooms & personally I was in room no 212.Quality of services , location & house keeping are horrible.No wifi connection they are provided. All rooms are very small. Including all my experience was horrible.

Horrible Experience 

Good room service,goid quality of food.
Nice bathroom and saniware.
Manager Lakhanbhai is very helpful and taking care of individual one.
Rooftop restaurant and looking nice fort view and desert.
