Stayed there in a ski vacation:
1. Rooms are clean but tiny. Old decor.
2. Breakfast is simple and basic.
3. Location is so so, skibus service is ok (just outside the hotel) but prepare for walking (restaurants&shops and other skibus routes), very quite 
4. Staff - old school, family style
5. Ski room - too small.

Nothing to write home about

The Hotel Garni Almhof is a very nice family-run b&b pension, located on the outskirts of the town, about a km from the town's center. On the plus side, it's a three-story building with its own green grounds, just 30 meters from the St. Joseph shuttle bus line D, and has a very nice spa and wellness area with a dry and wet sauna, and a relaxing room plus showers. The rooms are very comfortable and squeaky clean. Breakfasts are simple but generous, and the dining room is very pleasant. On the downside, it is located at a walking distance of at least 15-20 minutes from the town's center, and as the last shuttle bus doesn't operate after 17:15 could be an unpleasant walk during inclement winter weather. There is no elevator, and again, not too suitable for elderly people. But the thing really missing is a hot tub or jacuzzi, which after a tiring skiing day is most sought after by skiers. All in all, with its modest rates and location more suitable for younger people. Sleep quality is good, which is also important. As said earlier, had there been a jacuzzi it could be the difference between good and very very good.

A quiet nice B&B pension far from the maddening crowd..

Last minute ski holiday over Christmas. So we went with what's available via crystal ski. 

The place is sparkling clean and warm. We were left to our own devices and breakfast was fresh and tasty. Great coffee and beautiful views. 

Dont know if it's an Austrian thing but the bath was so deep, loved it. 

A little dated in decor but we were always comfortable and homely. 

The quiet of the location was worth the very short walk to the ski bus. It's all very close. 

Would stay again.

Downside:

You eat dinner outside the hotel at Neuhaus hotel up the road. Although this is a more expensive hotel we didn't like it there. The waiter was an eye roller... the portions were incredibly small and you are put in the side room. Very much felt like the poor relations. Which these kind of holidays are not cheap. 

Quiet and clean 

The hotel is a short walk to the central street. But it's quiet. There's a ski bus stop 50 metres from the hotel. There's a warm dryer for ski shoes. Breakfast is very cheap and uniform: musli, yogurt, bread, sausages and cheese, fruits. No eggs. The mattress and pillow in the room were old.

It's simple, but tasteful.

We were here with friends for a night. The hotel is in a good location, it's about 5-10 minutes from the place and you can get to some nice spots quickly by car. The room was clean and there was a terrace from which you had a nice view. However, I just found it too expensive. The room was very simple to keep with a small shower and therefore the price was not okay. Also the extra delivery bed in our friends' room was really too small. It was hard to sleep on it. The breakfast was okay but here too I didn't find the price justified. The price should have been higher. In the guesthouse there is a nice little natural pool that I liked very much. The hostess is very nice.

Good location, but too expensive.

We were in the barn for the first time and we're coming back! The location is fantastic, totally quiet, 5 minutes walk to the place, right by the ski bus stop, so perfect. The rooms are top clean and cozy, the spa is a dream and the breakfast room with a cuddle room is great. The breakfast was great and fresh and there was nothing missing. But most of all the hostess is worth 5*. We immediately felt welcome and felt like we've been coming here for years. We rarely recovered so well in just one week. Thanks a thousand for the beautiful time!!!

It's just class and pure recreation!

We didn't book this hotel but got transferred here by Thomson because the hotel we had booked was full. 
We had booked a double (Austrian twin) but we were given a twin room with beds at opposite sides of the room.  Thomson mistake not the hotel's.  We asked the hostess if we could change but she said sorry the hotel was full.  However, 10 minutes later she rang to say that a double would be available a couple of days later if we would like it. 
I am glad we said yes because the beds in room 22 were the most uncomfortable I have slept - or rather not slept on.  The beds creaked with every movement. The room itself was fine with a lovely view from the balcony.
We moved to room 23 which was much better - very comfortable beds.
This hotel is very much a B and B.  Breakfast was the usual buffet with a selection of cheeses, meats, cereals, fruit and cakes - no hot food but that didn't bother us as there was enough choice.
We found the hostess friendly and helpful.
The hotel is a good location next to a meadow. It is about 10 minutes walk to the centre of the town where there are plenty of restaurants. 
One thing that surprised us was how quiet the town is at night after about 9:30.  We arrived on a Saturday evening and there was hardly anybody around.  We did eventually find a couple of bars/restaurants that still had people in after 9:30 (and didn't have accordion players in).  One we particularly liked was Edelweis.
Mayrhofen is a great base for exploring this area of the Alps.  Public transport is frequent and easy to use.  There are loads of walks that start in the town, though it is not always easy to find the start of them.  There are also lots of walks starting at the tops of the cable cars.  
Overall we had a good time. We may well go back again and if we did we would probably stayin this hotel.

Quiet and comfortable - eventually!

Very clean, neat, cozy and quiet place. Very welcoming staff at the reception feeling that you come to Alpine Grandmother's house for a visit) room with a view of the mountains, there is a drying room and a great sauna, but it works at a certain time and you have to make it up, not convenient. It is not convenient yet that the hotel is on a stretch and far from the elevators, free buses go well. Breakfast is uniform and scarce: a-la sandwich with cheese-tomatoes and coffee.

It's clean, it's cozy, but it's a mess.

A cozy place with nice people. A nice little lunch with variety. A very nice little lunchroom. Old rooms and very old bathrooms too. An excellent leisure space with sauna, turkey, relaxation space, etc.

Snow holidays

I would like to mention in advance that I liked the sitting group very much in cultivation - which is not always standard in boarding houses or garni factories. To emphasize is also the cleanliness in the rooms - even though there is apparently no room service on Sundays. Less great is the skiraum with a totally outdated heating system for the shoes - so drying is definitely not. So take care of it yourself. Sauna and fitness are also only possible from 4:30 to 7:30 and on the weekends! The blast was the most.
