Stayed one night as part of a small #intrepidtravel group tour. Lousy WiFi and breakfast. Manager was inhospitable and rude. Rooms clean and you can open the window but no bar as per their profile and dark public areas. 

Awful

Although this hotel was almost 20 minutes to the city center, it was closer to historical places like Mt. Nemrut. The service and meals were excellent which was surprising for me. Rooms were regular and average, however, bathtubs were small and not practical. There was free wi-fi but signal was too weak from our room, it was stronger in the lobby and the first floor. There was a strange and creepy man in the lobby, from the cast of American Horror Story. I did not hear him talk at all. He just stared instead of speaking. That was our communication. Other than that our visit there was not bad at all.

Better Than Expected

I saw my room  and a couple of others.  It was ok - but not spectacular.  One friends room had large chunks of the window sill that had fallen off.  Definately not a non smoking hotel.  Dinner was bad, and the 4 vegetarians were told: "Just don't eat the chicken." Dining room has a track on the floor in the entry way.  Great for a trip and fall.  Breakfast was meager even by tour standards.  Won't be staying here again - hopefully.

Needs LOTS of work

This hotel was booked by a tour company from Goreme as part of a three day package. The hotel, once, would have been excellent. The design and fittings show what it would have been like many years ago. The reception area was spacious and our group enjoyed being able to relax in the lobby. The hotel kindly had free tea available on a self-serve basis.

However, it clearly gives the impression of little maintenance being carried out in recent times. We were with a party of 18 and our room, as others, had been freshly painted and was large and comfortable.  In our twin room the carpet was threadbare and  the toilet would not flush despite repeated attempts at repair by the friendly reception staff. The downstairs toilet was used by us, and a few others, whose rooms also had problems. The gents' doors would not close and fittings were held by loose screws.
The bathroom shower had mould surrounding the mini bath and the water was cold, no matter how long we, and others, tried to get it warm.
Dinner and breakfast were OK but not memorable. I suspect the hotel was chosen on price by the tour company. I would hope there would be better options in the town.

Once a Four Star Hotel

The previous reviewer's title is spot on.  It is indeed a strange place. We stayed in the annex, attached to the hotel by going through a long dining hall.  The bathroom, unlike Lonely Planet's description, was great. It had a bathtub and a new-looking toilet.  However, we had no hot water.  So the next morning, we were given keys to a room in the main building (which had been fully booked the night before) and walked some distance to take our showers.  We were told the problem was because the hotel was so booked and the annex's water was heated by sunlight (the main building had a gas back-up).  The breakfast was decent and included some type of borek in addition to the usual Turkish offerings.  The main building had crown molding above every hotel room door way.  The annex's rooms themselves were nice enough, but the hallway was eerie - long, simple, spare with no paintings or molding, only painted numbers on the walls, conjuring images of a jail or hospital.  The restaurant across the street (slightly to the right as you're exiting the hotel and across the road) is really terrific (try the fried sultan kebab with pistachio).  For 75 YTL for a triple room, I would stay there again but insist on a room in the main block.

Stay in Main Building

I stayed here for two nights while I was using Kahta as a base for exploring Turkey's famous Mt. Nemrut. To be clear, there is nothing going on in Kahta. Few places to stay, and little to do outside of setting off to see Mt. Nemrut. Therefore, while this place was not beautiful or perfect, it was great compared to the alternatives. 
Here's the deal:
-it's clean
-the beds are comfortable
-the rooms are big and have TV's 
-the bathrooms are modern and are actually spotless - they are probably the best part of the hotel (though one morning I had no hot water?!)
-the hotel is very big - but when I was there,  no other tourists were in the entire area...
-management was not exactly friendly, but not unkind either - just a bit quiet - perhaps from not talking to anyone all day...
-the location is good for finding a place to eat or catching a dolmus to your next stop
That's it. Hotel Nemrut is an odd place - but good enough.
