I stayed here for one night for my son's wedding.  It was frankly very poor.  There was no lock on the front door and it was left insecure.  The property smelt musty and the bedding quality was poor and unmatched.  I would never stay here again.

When looking for my room I opened the door to one that was literally a mattress on the floor littered with cigarette butts

I booked to stay  here August the hotel took my money despite saying pay on arrival!! This was back in March.
I sadly had to cancel the stay due to engineering work the weekend we were planning to go.
I called the b and b the member of staff said over the phone that as its pride weekend the room would be resold due to high demand that weekend.
However the next day I am told over the phone that I would receive a credit note which I wasn't happy with!! 132 pounds has been lost due to the poor customer service I have received from this hotel.
They have been ignoring all emails and correspondance! Ignoring booking.com.
Absolutely  appalling customer service.

Afford at all costs! 

This is NOT a 4* hotel. The room smelt of smoke, the bathroom had half used mouthwash, all towels provided were damp and rolled up, the room was in a poor state of repair and is in urgent need of decoration.

This is not a suite- it’s a poor room with a cupboard with a fridge and microwave.

It would be perfectly acceptable if it were half the price and appropriately advertised as a hostel style experience.

Not a 4* hotel

Nice, friendly staff and excellent location near to everything we needed. My friend and I participated in the Brighton Trail Marathon and the lady on the front desk was really accommodating of our requests which was massively appreciated. The room was comfortable and clean. Would recommend.

So peed off with Hudsons Brighton ! After booking on Booking.com for 1 night stay in Brighton as part of my 40th birthday celebrations turned into the worst place I have ever had the misfortune of attending (would say staying, however I never stayed the night it was that bad). We arrive and dropped our bags off and then head off into Brighton, come back and the bedroom has thick dust on frames, glasses, fan etc… (was told this was fogging from the cleaning in the morning) toilet door was cobbled together, the toilet had urine stains on, the water glasses were dirty. The curtains were so creased and another curtain had been turned upside down and used as a net curtain. My husband needed the loo and shower so I went on to the landing where there was a toilet (large sign saying toilet, but apparently a tiny sign saying staff toilet) it was disgusting! If it’s staff toilet then it needs locking! The bed was dipped in the middle so when we got into bed we rolled into the middle, I tried sleeping on the floor and was so uncomfortable. It was that bad that I left the hotel and went and found somewhere else to stay! When I complained to the hotel, it took over a week to "view CCTV" and get reports back from the staff, I was made to feel that my experience was incorrect and was tried to be proved wrong on each of my points, no apologies. The cost £151 for 1 night! Have a look at the photos and decide for yourselves if you would pay that for this! AND I NEVER ACTUALLY STAYED THE NIGHT! Thanks for letting me have a great part of my 40th ruined! No compensation or anything, booking.com couldn’t refund or compensate us as they only advertise the hotel and would be down to the hotel to compensated us.

Just awful

Had an absolutely fantastic stay and owner made me feel very welcomed and at home. Most cosy bed ever and slept like a log. Very accessible to city centre. Hotel is extremely clean. Will be back for sure.

Amazing stay and best place in Brighton

a charming, original little guest house. Nicely furnished room, in a style that was a little quirky and very "unhotelchain". Check-in was efficient, and the lady there in the morning was friendly and helpful.
Nice front room with Beatles and Jagger posters. Double glazing good, so good night's sleep.
The bathroom was petite, but perfectly adequate. In the evening the hot water took a while to appear, but, provided you run the taps for a while, it always comes.
It's in a good position, too. I recommend.

quirky but great

We only stayed for one night, but would definitely use again for the same. Yes, Yes, Yes........ some of the furniture is a little tired, our room was on the chilly side (electric heater supplied). But it was clean, position in town is great.
She sells parking permits for £10 which lasts for 24 hours, we was lucky to get a space outside the digs.

Great Place to Stay

I arrived soaking wet and immediately felt at home as the owner kindly offered me towels etc to dry off. The room was cozy, small bathroom but great for the price. Clean sheets and towels. As we weren't driving the lack of parking wasn't an issue. Some lovely wee cafes, bars and restaurants within a five minute walk so breakfast isn't a worry. Our room was on the ground floor beside the front door so there was a bit of noise as people came and went at all hours but it wasn't too intrusive.  Definitely great value! 

Great location, warm and kind owner

A greatly located central place in Brighton to be in the heart of this town and a short walk to the beach and attractions. This lovely family hotel has a warm welcome and the room is well equipped and the bed is very comfortable. Would recommend this hotel for your stay.
