Baza Otdykha Kareliya

Location

Baza Otdykha Kareliya is located on the shore of Lake Onega, 85 km from Petrozavodsk, 30 km from the city of Kondopoga, 45 km from Kizhi Island and 1 km from the ancient Karelian village of Vatnavolok. The name of the village has been found in the documents since 1563, and Veselov's barn, an architectural monument of the early XX century, has been preserved on the territory of the village.

At the recreation camp

The suburban recreation center covers an area of 7 hectares and has a 500-meter coastline. The territory is landscaped with paved and gravel footpaths, illuminated at night.

Free Wi-Fi is available in the building, and 50 m from the building there is a private sandy beach.

It offers guests: a sauna, a cafe with a fireplace, a bar, karaoke and a dance floor; a guarded parking lot; a mini-shop; picnic areas. The territory also has a football field, basketball and volleyball courts, an equipped playground for upper and lower rope courses, a 6 m high wall for diving descents and ascents.

Bicycles, rowing boats, fishing rods, barbecues, and campfire equipment can be rented. Guests can arrange: in summer — karting, boating and kayaking, and in winter — dog sledding, skiing, fishing, snowmobile safaris.

The staff of the recreation center organizes excursions to the sights of Karelia and the Arkhangelsk region: Kizhi Island, Valaam Island, Ruskeala Mountain Park, Kivach Waterfall, Girvas volcano, the first Russian resort Marcial Waters, safe rafting on the Shuya River with a picnic and tasting of Karelian tinctures, Solovki Island.

Guests can rent tents, sleeping bags, mats for accommodation in a tent camp on the shore of Lake Onega. Accommodation with your own tents is possible.

Master classes, competitions, quests, concert programs, and ethnic evenings are held on the territory of the recreation center. The animators include laureates of All-Russian and International vocal competitions. Guests can get acquainted with the ethnic village of Vatnavolok, make amulets from stone and cloth, bake Karelian mini-pies, learn to play the national instrument kantele, as well as learn the legends of the Karelo-Finnish epic Kalevala.

Accommodation is a two-storey building with 36 rooms, the total number of rooms with additional beds is 86 places.

Each room has beds, bedside tables and a wardrobe. The furniture is made of pine. Private bathroom. Some rooms have a kitchenette with an electric stove, kettle, microwave, dishes and stools.

A pull-out sofa can be used as an additional place in the room.

The building has rooms with two separate rooms, each with two beds, a wardrobe and bedside tables. In the common hall there are a dining table, four stools, a kettle, a microwave oven. The bathroom is equipped for two rooms.
