Small boutique hotel with separate bungalows. Very clean and well maintained. The staff are exceptional, very friendly also very willing to help.

Many restaurants within walking distance ranging in prices from inexpensive to more expensive.

Grrt place to stay

Returned after 3 yrs, still lovely, the staff are great, though a little depleted, rooms comfotable, food is really good I recommend the grilled squid. An idea;l place to relax, great massage by an elderly lady or her husband, hard, gets all the knots. We cannot wait to go back but

relaxing time

We stumbled across Kelapa Mas while wandering thru Candidasa. We were staying at another alleged 3 star accommodation which was not up to scratch. We were able to get rooms at Kelapa mas and as it happens they were the 2 beach front rooms. Clean and large space for 1 person. It was safe and quiet. We were 2 of only 6 -8 people staying here. Staff are friendly and as helpful as possible. Breakfast was adequate. I have have much better tho. I understand the need to reduce food waste, however I would say the breakfast was on the mean side in terms of portion size. Extra $ for fresh juice which is ridiculous. I moved rooms to 3b, which was ok. However its clear that there has been little to no maintenance done to the rooms in quite a long time. The gardens are beautiful and meticulously kept, however I for one would prefer a clean room and bathroom with effective water pressure and no bugs crawling over my towel, or soap! The lock on the door was interesting as well. I trust Balinese implicitly don't get me wrong. It was disconcerting I have to say, not having what I would consider a safe and effective lockable door. Kelapa Mas advertises as a home stay. It may mean something else around the world, but we read it as you stay with a family. Which is not my idea of a fun holiday. Kelapa Mas is definitely not a home stay. It needs a bit of TLC and some modernisation to bring it up to what it could be. It was a lovely place to stay. It really was.

A Bit of  a Haven

This is the 5th place I have stayed in in Candidasa.  By far the best.

This is probably also one of the quietest places I have stayed in throughout Bali/Indonesia.  The front is close to the main road, but traffic cannot be heard as you get closer to the sea.  You can hear the waves at night from the rooms near the sea, which cover any noise coming from the town.  Also, the neighbours are quiet (yoga / ashram on one side).  The quiet nature of this place is unusual  - Bali is notorious for manmade noise from Karaoke, parties, bars, warungs, incredibly loud house music from huge home speakers on full bass, etc etc - none of that at Kelapa Mas.

The food in the restaurant is very good.  I ate there every night on this trip, never wanted to go out as the views from the restaurant is fantastic.  Breakfast is simple, but fine.

The staff and service is also excellent.

The room I had was perfect.  Large, good aircon, very clean.  Nice open shower area. There was a TV in my room, but never turned it on.

The pool was clean and the water good quality, and great position in the lovely garden and by the sea.

I 100% recommend Kelapa Mas - excellent stay.

I would recommend the rooms closer to the sea; the price is very reasonable.

Regarding this Tripadvisor entry, personally I wouldn't called it a "Homestay" as that implies something much more simple.  This is a hotel with bungalows,  And it is excellent.

Best place to stay in Candidasa

Love this place 3rd time here, staff are very friendly and helpful. 
Had a room where we could see the ocean... just  layed around

Weekend away from Ubud

This place has a beautiful garden, staff are lovely and is placed right on the shore front. I found The sound of the ocean really calming. My room was clean and aircon worked well. Their driver, bodhi, was happy to drive me around the sight, he was informative and very professional.
This place is a real Bali paradise.

Affordable Paradise

TV was advertised,there was none.The room was clean and the pool was nice,but really charging for bottled water is certainly over the top.$50 Australian for a room and of course the credit card facilities were not available.With a change of attitude this establishment could be one of the good ones.

not good value

We were lucky to get the best room in the hotel. Right at the front and in the middle, facing the quiet pool and blue Bali sea!
You could hear the waves crashing at night. Beautiful!
The bungalow was either recently rebuilt or refurbished - huge, airy and truly immaculate with neat and simple furnishings, also a mini bar.
The bed was great and the open  shower room absolutely huge! You will need to bring your own toiletries or buy some made locally, even better! Aircon was perfect.

For the price we had a simple breakfast each morning served by the sweet girls at the seaside restauranr.

Don’t be put off by Candidasa’s busy and dusty main street!
Look beyond it on the shore side and you will find the most beautiful gardens (Kelapa Mas has the nicest by far) and some wonderful accommodation with the best views!
It is a friendly lovely town where everyone needs your custom.
Be sure to say yes to a massage or to a taxi to the wonderful White Sand Beach, a short drive away.

Best value in Candidasa!

Lovely place. Right on the ocean front, beautiful manicured gardens, hot water showers and very clean.  The pool is new and you can dine poolside. The cottages are spacious and the staff are so nice.  They wear purple traditional lace kabaya and the guys - smart purple batik shirts.  Everything is so homely here.  The food is super fresh too.  There is about of care here. For me, the spacious gardens were the best thing about KELAPA MAS ( golden coconut) 

Sweet little cottages on the water 

This room was hot and mosquito-filled. There was basically no water from the sink tap, the only outlet in the room was dangling out of the wall and hot-wired to a light fixture and the walls were paper thin. There were trails of ants everywhere. The bed was painful to sleep on. The only decent thing for the room was the patio. The grounds had a pleasant pool and nice paths and greenery.
