It took us a while to find it as it is tucked away down a track, but a great location for safaris near Yala National Park and away from the crowds so very peaceful and relaxing. The service was fantastic and food just as good with local dishes tweaked to accommodate our low levels of spice. Fresh fruit and home made juice from trees in their garden was another nice touch. We had a 10 month old and they were very good at providing food for her at different times and were very sweet with her also. The pool was very refreshing with a separate shallow area for young children. Thank you for a great stay

Peaceful family stay with excellent service

Fantastic lodging located on the edge of Yala National Park. Short 20 minute drive to the entrance. A great place if you want to feel like you are on an extended safari without giving up the comfort or stylings of modern luxury hotels. 

Kirinda Lodge is definitely secluded, and as such, they provide room and board. The food is fantastic and very filling. The service is out of this world, our concierge, Nisanka, was the best! Very welcoming, informative, and helpful. 

The property itself is beautiful, and marrys modern styling with the safari theme. We saw a huge monitor lizard, a nesting peacock, and a star tortoise on the property, as well as water buffalo and wild boar roaming outside the walls. 

Highly recommend for couples looking for a romantic escape from modern life while surrounded by wildlife.

Fantastic stay on the edge of Yala National Park

Wonderful lodge offering full room and board, right next to Yala National Park. Kirinda Lodge does a fantastic job marrying modern amenities while incorporating the unique setting. From the first moment you step on the property, it feels special. From monitor lizards roaming the surrounding area, to peacocks dancing on the banks of the lake, you feel like you are living on a safari. 

My wife and I loved relaxing by the pool during the day, and walking down to the lake to watch the wildlife at sunset. It was incredibly romantic, and the food was fantastic. The staff goes above and beyond, in particular, our butler Nisanka was a wonderful host. 

For anyone who wants a truly unique safari experience, without sacrificing on comfort and elegance, Kirinda Lodge is a perfect choice.

Elegant lodge that brings modern comfort to the wild

Myself and my partner loved escaping to this calm, peaceful abode. Having a pool to swim in, National parks to visit during the day and a cosy yet luxury place to come home to was wondeful. Every evening the buffalo bathe in the lake right out the front, which you can take a stroll around or watch from the old elephant tower (also a great place for a romantic meal at sunset!)>

Wow! Such a wonderful getaway!

The Kirinda Lodge is right next to the park with a breeze that flows through the entire property. It's calm with no noise except the occasional bird and the wind in the trees. There is a spacious pool that is ideal to cool off and rocking chairs in front to doze off in. The food was yummy and rooms comfortable with ensuite bathroom. The treehouse in the front overlooks the water hole where you can catch a few buffaloes chilling. 

Highly recommend. 

A serene place to unwind

Kirinda Lodge is the place to be. We loved it here! After staying at the hotels in Colombo and Kabalana by Ceilao Villas, our expectations were high. And they topped that. The lodge is placed near the city of Kirinda which is just 12 kilometers from the entrance of Yala National Park. 
 
Driving up there, already gives you a relaxed feeling. There isn’t that much in the surroundings except nature. Unfortunately the rain that fell in Tangalle, stayed in Tangalle and did not make it here. So it was a bit dry. When it has been raining for a few days, everything turns green and there is a big lake in front of the lodge. 
 
As soon as we entered the Lodge, we felt at home. It’s cosy, has a warm atmosphere and is really open. The rooms are furnished in colonial style and the lodge has all you need. You won’t be spending much time in your room because you want to be outside. There is a nice refreshing swimming pool that we shared with some hot and thirsty Black Faced Langur Monkeys at one point. The lodge is fenced with barbwire because the elephants come really close sometimes. We waited outside the first night, hoping to catch a glimpse of them, but we didn’t see any. They did come later that night but we missed that, they can be really quiet apparently. At night, it is nice to just sit outside in a rocking chair, enjoy the sunset, the sounds of the animals and the silence. A great place to unwind.
 
When staying here, you will have your personal chef who cooks for you for the cost of the ingredients, a very cost efficient way of eating we think! You can choose from a menu but it is also possible to specify your own personal wishes, they are very flexibel with this. We even had the famous South Sri Lankan water-buffalo curd, which tastes great!

Go here when you want some rest and want to be pampered, it is also close to Yala NP!
