First of all, the place is in old town Quedlinburg so don't be expecting a new building or one that was built in the 20th century. As the rooms are at the first floor, expect stairs. I wouldn't recommend the place to those who have mobility issues or parents with small children who are not used to small creaky stairs.

We got the Charlotte room (if I'm not mistaken) and it really has that old grand feeling with wide spaces, a huge bed and a few dated armoires. I loved the feel of wooden flooring (feels good walking around barefoot).

Our bedroom faces the street and if you open the window, you will hear all the noise (even if its just one car or someone walking down the street) but its mostly silent. Its a stark contrast to one who is used to city noises. Every time someone walks by, I felt like doing some people watching because its rare.

Do book for breakfast. Although, it wasn't much (compared to other breakfast buffets we had in our trip), it was very filling and tide us through the day. The owner was very accommodating in serving us breakfast to the time that we wanted it.

Quaint house in the middle of old town Quedlinburg

What a lovely place! My husband and I had a fantastic stay at the Kunsthaus and couldn’t have enjoyed it more. Everything was just right: the bright spacious room with its attractive old furniture and decorations, the cosy sun terrace, the comfortable bed and amazing breakfast. The Kunsthaus has a really convenient location close the market square and near the castle quarter, which is one of the prettiest bits of Quedlinburg. Conveniently, a great pub (the Brauhaus) is just a few doors down if you fancy a brew. The landlady is very nice and helpful and was happy to help us with some questions and recommend some good restaurants nearby. The breakfast was huge and delicious each day, with an array of breads/rolls, cheeses and cold meats as well as a boiled egg, juice and really nice coffee. (Definitely DO include breakfast when you book.) It’s also a beautiful historic house full of character and interest. There is free wi-fi as well. I highly recommend the Kunsthaus and hope to return there again.

A real taste of old Germany in a beautiful building

We would like to thank for a lovely stay. The house and room was very cozy, clean, and nice. The house has a great location, and the parking is pretty close. The breakfast was served in a cozy room at the time we wanted it.Thumbs up!

Very nice

We picked this place because it was pretty highly rated. I was very disappointed by the quality of our room. The bed had two different style mattresses; one was lower than the other. The main wardrobe in our room was used for linen storage for all the guest rooms and unusable for us. The room itself needed an urgent overhaul and the bathroom a very good cleaning. I will let the attached pictures speak for themselves. The owner lives one floor up and we could hear every single step taken upstairs. She is very friendly and serves you a nice breakfast in the morning.

Needs a lot of Improvement

We spent three nice days in this beautiful city and we found that it was all that we like: there's picturesqueness, there's beautiful architecture, nice little restaurants with good honest food and lots to see. 
The Kunsthaus is a very nicely decorated hotel and the location couldn't be better, since it is at a walking distance from the main square or "der Markt". The breakfast they serve is good, with fresh bread (I really love German bread!), coffee, tea, fruit juice, cheeses and cold meats served in this cute little room with the old creaking wooden floor. 
The rooms are good sized with a sort of sitting room, nice bathroom and then the big bedroom, perfectly furnished with items and art works that go perfectly well with the style of the house; it really feels as if you were bringing a bit of Quedlinburg into your room every time you come back to the hotel after walking around the city. 
Nevertheless, I found that the bed was truly awful. The matress was too hard and so thin that you could feel the boards cutting into your ribs when you were lying there. I honestly think they should do something about this because usually when one stays in a hotel while on holiday, rest and sleep is important - even more than the interesting art that you can admire in your room. What I'm saying is, care a tiny bit less about art and more about the beds you offer to your guests. 

After three quite lovely days in Quedlinburg when it was time to check out, my husband had a very nasty moment with a neighbour regarding the parking arrangement that the hotel owner had (not) arranged for us. I had emailed her before getting to Quedlinburg in order to book a parking space for our car. When we got there she pointed at a garage just across the street from the hotel and told us to park the car there, against the wall. My husband did exactly that and seeing there was a chain with a sign reading, "don't cross this line", that is what he did, comply with the instructions. 
Unfortunately, the owner of the garage seemed to think that my husband had rather tresspassed on his property blocking his own car and preventing him from doing business and he wanted to be reimbursed for that. He bullied my husband and he was really very angry. He also said that the hotel owner had told him we had NOT booked a place to park our car (the emails we exchanged mysteriously forgotten) and that we could not be reached to move our car (never mind that we left our mobile phone number when we booked or that she could've left a note under our door for when we came back to our room). It was a really nasty moment that rather ruined our otherwise lovely stay in Quedlinburg. 

If you choose this hotel to stay in Quedlinburg, make sure you have booked the parking space and that the hotel owner is pretty specific about the how and where and when to avoid being bullied by the crazy neighbour.
