We decided to return to Turkey after a break of 4 years and La Rosa Hotel was our first choice having spent a number of holidays there in the past, visually not a lot has changed over that period and as expected we were given a great welcome from old friends Denis, Dwan and Hassan, Room was comfortable which looks out over the pool and bar area once in the room we never heard any noise from the bar at all. normally we would opt for half board but alas the hotel has stopped half board which is a bit of a shame we always enjoyed the quality of the food on offer during our visit the hotel was quite quiet and on more than one occasion we had the pool area to ourselves, I've noted some moanings about the hotels location but really it is in a great position ideal for a walk (downhill) into town (Gumbet) 10 minutes but a taxi back is a good idea at £1.20 worth every penny. while in town for food and drink there are numerous places that are worth a visit, while all the youngsters in TURKEY hit Bar Street we were able to relax and have a friendly drink to great music at the Juke Box mainly full of ex pats and brit holiday makers BUT !!! after 10pm every dance bar / nightclub in Bar Street turns the volume to max and the noise is AWFUL !! it can be heard the length and breadth of Gumbet not music just a noise BUT NOT at La Rosa  nice and reasonably quiet with no competing tunes, it is also ideally situated for getting a Dolmus almost anywhere you care to go from the hotel entrance to Bodrum bus station 50p, from the main road Camel Beach ,Bitez, Turgatrize. over the years we have found our way about the area but really that would not have been possible without Bilal looking after us (wife calls him her personal travel agent) I have just  read a review That I just do not recognize as being La Rosa  the people there are the greatest, kindest and most courteous you could imagine from the housekeeper through to the owner. I would suggest the person that wrote the review i read should stay at home or go to mummy's for holiday's. Anyway two weeks of blazing temperatures and lot's of sweat soaked walking (me not my wife) lot's of really good food (Bacon rolls at the cafe - next door to the Juke Box) , Annalivia,Divers the Red Dragon. For a lovely drink in the comfort of a big soft arm chair on the shore overlooking the bay try Melek bar/restaurant "GREAT" Having visited Gumbet numerous times I am able to say we have not tired of it nor do I think we will any time soon. La Rosa is a nice small relaxing hotel with very pleasant grounds looked after by Mamet, there is no pressure to do anything, yes there are rules about food and drink being brought into the hotel but the same rules apply in most hotels, if you are pleasant and polite you will receive the same in return. If you were to ask me where to stay in Gumbet I would tell you try La Rosa I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed

A return after 4 years

visited last week with my family. so sharing my latest experience..do not stay there specially with ur family. my daughter got sick due to there breakfast which she had only one day... no one guided or help me going to a hospital. they charge u for everything u want and beside that u have to follow their strict rules else they have a right to scream on you or can fight with u yes I am sharing my true experience which can be verified through there CCTV.

they don't have refrigerators in the room. they won't keep any sort of your things in fridge as I requested to keep milk (feeders bottle) which Mr. bilal (receptionist) bluntly refused to keep. even for clod water u have to purchase from them. even if u want a opener to open a bottle they refuse that we don't have. 

only jams and cheese available in the so called buffet breakfast, and it's up to them to give u eggs or not. 

the staff stands on your head at the breakfast time and it's finishes at 10 but they gonna remind u that last 10 minutes left almost they snatch plates. there is a guy name yasir (waiter) who is most I'll mannered person with rotten face who has the ability  to even have a physical fight with guests which he tried with me many time.

hotel is located at the peak on one of the high mountain of gumbet area though it's very near to main road but at least 30 mi s walk to gumbet beach.

This is a pleasant enough hotel but could be great with a few improvements. As other reviews have said it is spotless and this is one area that needs improvement. The maid who cleans does a wonderful job but she is on her own and some days she would come to clean after we had got back from the beach, 4:30 and 6pm which was to late therefore our room did not get cleaned on 2 days.
The breakfast are continental which I don’t have a problem witch but there was no fruit, yogurts or coisants and the toaster did not work unless you held the button down after 2 days they brought toast in a basket out from the kitchen which was cold and hard after this we ate breakfast at the beach.
The pool bar only had tins of effes which wasn’t really cold, better in bottles, and no lemons or limes for my vodka tonic even though there is a lime tree at the front of the hotel.
I do hope management take note of these issues as this could be a great hotel,

Nice Hotel But Could Be Better

I am just sat in the hotel lobby (no air con) waiting to be picked up, so upon arriving at la rosa we were greeted my the man on reception Deniz who was very polite and helpful all through my week here he is a credit to the hotel also the man on reception in the day bilal he is very helpful and polite and always said hello and spoke to us, the hotel and the rooms are kept spotless and cleaned daily the pool area is kept immaculate also, breakfast was continental which wasn't for me but it was always full and plenty of choice like cheeses bread different meats, olives, cereal, boiled egg and scrambled egg and one day we had beans, other staff that was working in the dining area and the bar spoke very little English and didn't understand anything I asked for which made it a bit difficult, the hotel is 5 minutes away from gumbet centre and costs 10 lira in a taxi which is around £1.70 or a 15 minute walk, bodrum is a bit further and costs 25 lira which is around 4.25, our flight wasn't till 12.45am going home so instead of being kicked out of our room at 11.30 it was only £20 to stay in the room till 8pm which I thought was very reasonable, I would definitely recommend this hotel, thank you to all staff at the la rosa for a memorable holiday. 


Holiday

Stayed here 16-23 July on a B & B basis.
It was a last minute booking so we had no idea what we were going to. 
Can’t find fault with this great little place. 
Our room was spotlessly clean. 
Sheet and towels changed every second day. Pool area was immaculate. Smallish pool but it’s not the biggest hotel so there was plenty of space around. 
Staff are so welcoming and obliging, nothing was a problem for them. 
Breakfast was more than fine. Enough choice to vary what you had every day.
Far enough away to be nice and peaceful, but close enough to where everything is. 
10/15 minutes walk to Gumbet centre.
Dolmus to Bodrum right outside hotel so this was a perfect base to explore both towns and the surrounding area. 
Special mention must go to the man on reception, he was so courteous and friendly. Nothing was a problem for him.
I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Great little hotel.

We have just returned from a week long break at La Rosa Bed and Breakfast.  We enjoyed (as an extra) our air conditioned room.  Indeed this was essential as the temperatures soared.

The Staff were friendly, courteous and helpful.  We had the privilege of meeting the owners who were warm and hospitable and genuinely interested in making sure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay. 

The food was delicious we particularly enjoyed the mix of Turkish and European cuisine as the children had narrower tastes (Chicken nuggets!) and we had the option to try some Turkish food (Menemen and Baked Halva).  Indeed we ate here almost every night due to the high standards. 

The breakfasts were fresh, delicious and catered to a wide variety of tastes... the watermelon was simply delightful... we had boiled and scrambled eggs, pastries, cereals, white and brown bread, cheeses, olives,  luncheon meat and more.. 

The garden was kept in immaculate condition, as was the pool and pool side.  While we spent more time enjoying sightseeing, the time we spent by the pool was a highlight of the holiday as well.

All in all this was the perfect base to allow us to explore the beautiful Bodrum peninsula. 

I would not hesitate to recommend Hotel La Rosa and we would certainly return again!

A most enjoyable family holiday

Overpriced, air/cons old don’t work properly they are faulty.  Terrible breakfast always not enough food there to cater for the guest. Not allowed to even bring your water into premises that’s pathetic. 

The night receptionist is rude who sleeps on the job and when you call reception he tells you off for waking him up? It supposed to be a 24hr reception. He is a waste of space really, sleeping on the job. 

Mr Bilal is the day receptionist there, he is a gentleman. He is  too good for the hotel he definitely should go elsewhere. 

Cleaner does clean the old rooms poor lady she’s got her work cut out for her. She’s too good for the hotel too.  The other staff are good too the young kids. 

I so regret booking at this hotel and having to experience this unpleasantness especially the rudeness of night receptionist. 
Disgusting place don’t waste your money on this hotel.

Hotel from hell

We love staying at this hotel. If you are in Gumbet and want to be close to the nightlife but away fro the noise, this is the place for you.

La Rosa is very clean and super friendly. Dohan and Bilal and all the staff are always around to help you. Lots of people end up coming back time and time again.

The rooms are cleaned daily to a high standard. The pool area is super clean and there is a small bar for drinks and snacks throughout the day.

5 minutes  away in a taxi to central Gumbet where there are plenty of bars and restaurants.

Friendly family run Hotel

I stayed from the 4th to the 10th of September at the Hotel La Rosa di Gumbet, a beautiful hotel, clean and very good waiters, kind and always available doorkeepers, lovely and attentive to every request, the Turkish evening was beautiful and characteristic.

The overall structure is not bad, with a nice swimming pool, the open-air bar which in the evenings also became a nightclub, with the restaurant where you can dine at modest prices! But the heat inside the hotel is hallucinatory, the hall and the stairs leading to the first and only floor are a sauna, there is no elevator, so the luggage for the first-floor accommodation must be carried upstairs! The rooms, very Spartan are like the rest of the hotel crowded, but it is possible with an extra supplement to rent the use of the air conditioner, which according to me should instead be included, considering the heat unbearable!
