Super friendly, helpful, guiding and professional staff.
Very nice and large rooms with breathtaking views.
Beautiful surroundings, great pool areas and beaches.
The food was delicious and well prepared with good variety either from the buffet or different options of restaurants.
Great opportunity for doing sporting activities with either kitesurfing, paddle boarding or just going for a run/walk in the garden-like surrounding.
Easy access to Downtown or the Marina either by Tuk-Tuk or Taxi, with a great mix of restaurants, bars, coffee shops or shopping.
Can't wait to return

Better than expected

Can’t fault this hotel , returned on 11/3/19 after a lovely 10 night winter break The hotel is set in a beautiful surroundings. We went on Bed and breakfast board but did try all the reestaurants in the hotel for either lunch or dinner and couldn’t fault the quality or value for money . All staff in the hotel couldn’t do enough for us and were so pleasant and friendly ,  Tok  tocs (only £1 a trip )readily  available at the hotel or courtesy bus  to take us to Elgouna marina or downtown where there are a vast choice of bars and restaurants . We will definitely be visiting here again and hopefully very soon , A totally chilling location for us . Thank you .

Winter holiday in paradise

We came back to stay after a 3 year break and it was lovely to see things haven't changed. Great standards, great team and great holiday. Couple of mentions to outstanding service, Michel in the main restaurant, greets you every day with a warm smile and conversation, sorts a table and is buzzing around the restaurant ensuring everyone is happy. Ahmed in the lagoon bar is again is helpful, smiling and great service. This hotel is one of our favourite places to stay and we will be back. Well done, Cindy and Kim.

Lovely to return

We have never been in this hotel before! Actually it was our first time in Egypt and we are glad that have chosen Movenpick El Gouna. The staff is very kind and helpful! Boys from the main bar are cheerful and always smile! The food was really different and you can find “healthy food” too, what amazed us! The animation is nice, they always try to please you and talk to you! We didn’t feel boring and played volleyball with Anastasia few times. If someone asks me about Egypt, I will recommend 100% Movenpick

Was really amazing week

Where should I start? The Hotel is great and El Gouna is a beautiful place. Animation Megafun team was great, especially miss Anastasia - always happy and smiling, great to talk to and very friendly :)
The food is good, rooms are very clean and comfortable. Definately can recommend!

Absolutely beautiful

It was a good vacation! we were second time in this hotel, and as last year, this time was amazing! Service is very nice and helpful, waiters are nice, anamition changed but the same powerful! Hopefully we come again and again


Good vacation

Wonderful hotel, so friendly and helpful staff, warm weather and nice beach. Not very crowded, nice calm atmosphere. Look up Animation Team and Salma. Lovely gardens and cosy walkways around the hotel area. Lots of activities and things to see are also offered. Wonderful views everywhere, crystal clear water and colourful flowers. Really recommend a visit!

Beautiful resort!



Big plus for the hotel was the  absolute  brilliant staff.  The Egyptians  are very polite and friendly  and they go out of their way to please you. 
We went  b&b for 2 weeks and there was plenty of choice for breakfast.  Lots of fruit, lovely omelettes and the sesame seed bread was superb.  Let down though by the fact of no FRESH ORANGE juice which you would expect from a 5star hotel.  
Our room was lovely, kept spotless by our houseman Abdel Saleem so thank you to him.  Room 7124 was superbly positioned, we just walked straight out to the pool.  Comfortable beds but not a lot of hot water. Evening entertainment was ok but nothing special.  
Beautiful gardens it was a joy to walk around. Gym class every morning was good. The whole complex is stunning and kept immaculate.  
We would definitely return.



A very classy hotel

I have to put it behind the amazing but much more expensive Baron Place but just ahead of the Steigenberger Al Dau Beach (both in nearby Sahl Hasheesh /Hurghada) although the Al Dau might be better for solo travellers like myself because of its attractive and sociable bars.

Movenpick looks from my exploring to be the best hotel in El Gouna but toursists should be aware that 80-90% of the guests are German speaking.The location is great, right at the edge of the archipelago of islands that make up this fine town. In many Red Sea resorts you can't go outside of the hotel either because there's nothing but desert or because you get hassled but this is a properly functioning town where you can wander around freely. Everywhere is walkable although most people will travel by "Tuksi" or boat. Throughout Egypt the tips culture dominates which can be annoying so go for little and often. 20 EGP per person is fine for a tip - so maybe 40 EGP for two of you having a meal.

So to the hotel itself. The rooms are very well designed with plenty of space and copious lighting in a modern Western European style rather than the dark wood look that has bees traditional in Egyptian hotels. The main complex of pools gets rather busy but you will find plenty of room at the lagoons or overlooking the sea.

The food in the main restaurant is good although the star for me is the El Sayadin fish restaurant. The views are amazing and I can see why they use it in the promo pictures. The food is both healthy and tasty and the staff very friendly and lunch there is part of the All Incl package.Dinner at the Italian is also fine but remember that Egypt doesn't really do desserts in the Western interpretation. It's next to the bar which to me is not an attractive location - no problem with the staff but it's the old dark wood, unreformed East End pub look that lets down the package.

The staff here, as across Egypt really love it if you speak a little contemporary Egyptian which you can learn at the lessons given by the lovely Salma who also works at the kiddies' club.

I booked my trip with Holiday Designers who are knowledgeable and provide private transfers and speed you through when you arrive at the slightly chaotic airport. Anyone travelling through Hurghada airport must expect lengthy security procedures on the way out. 

Finally I'm impressed what a great, multinational community El Gouna is. The "Downtown" is safe but uninteresting by day although good for restaurants at night providing you don't expect third world prices. Unlike huge tracts of Egypt, Greece, Ireland and Spain I only saw one uncompleted property build.
Something like 11% of residents are European but before you fall in love with one of the modernist mansions there I'm afraid they cost millions .... and I don't mean EGP!
