I enjoyed my stay at Lumbung Damuh so much! For me it was very restorative time. There is a garden, constant sound of the ocean waves, it is quiet and cozy. The host family and staff are welcoming and friendly people. Being around felt wonderful: we talked and cooked and ate and shared our time together occasionally. That was lovely.

Also :-) Being practical for a moment :D Logistics is awesome! It is great location for exploring east side of the island in a half/fullday-trip format. Denpasar Airport and Padang Bai Port (from where boats take passengers to and out Lombok and Gili) are close. One way it takes ~1 hour to the airport and ~30 mins to the port. Home stay helps with transportation by request.

We stayed there for five days and everything was fantastic. 
Location: Convenient. Only 10 minutes bike ride from Candidasa city and there are many restaurants and shops near this place. 
The cottages: Eco friendly very beautifully created cottages. You can see the beach sitting on the downstairs living area which consist of a bed, chair and table to relax. This place is full of tress and flowers. First we were in a cottage in the middle then they upgraded us to another beachfront cottage without free of charge. 
Services: Tania and her crews are super nice and efficient. They will make you fresh breakfast and the best thing is there is no time limit. you can enjoy your sleep until noon and go for breakfast. they arranged out airport pick up-drop and provide us a bike for roaming around the city. 
Asih massage: There is a woman called Ashi who provide massage and facial. She is highly efficient and charge very reasonable price for each of the services. She came within 5 minutes of our call and provided massage in our cottage. Do not miss this massage if you are staying at this place. 
Pets: They have three dogs a cat and a bunny. the dogs usually remain in the lobby area but the cats roam around everywhere and always tried to enter our bedroom in the upstairs of the cottage. the cat is called Ginger and super adorable. 
we had a fantastic and super relaxing time there. this place is twice as good as I wrote.

From the first moment I arrived, I was greeted by the local staff with a very welcoming smile and later on by the owners Tania and Lempot. I was helped to take my luggage to my room and informed about the facilities. I stayed in one of the rooms upstairs in the main building, which is adorable and very cosy, decorated with wooden furniture everywhere. It has a very comfortable double bed with white beautiful mosquito curtains all around. The cherry on top to this room however, is the wooden balcony with 2 also wooden chairs, which are perfect to sit outside at night, relax and listen to the waves.

Breakfast was included and I had a mouth-watering scrambled eggs, which I chose to have some vegetables inside; 3 slices on toast, which I later discovered was freshly made bread made in the wood oven they have; a plate of fresh fruit, which included papaya, watermelon, and dragon fruit with a slice of lime; and finally I could help myself to coffee and tea.

The common area is the first thing you find when you arrive, and it´s very spacious, open and welcoming.  You can find a bench with instruments, a chill-out type of sofa with a small table and chair, and the main common table also with benches where you have breakfast in the morning, can socialize with other guests or do your own thing. Because I was solo-travelling it was very nice to meet many other backpackers and one of the days I even joined a couple of girls on their snorkelling trip to Blue Lagoon. 

One of the mornings the first thing I did was walk to the front of the homestay and looked out into the ocean and realized I could see Nusa Penida. Then I went for a walk on the beach, cooled down by jumping in the ocean and then rinsed off in the shower. Because I stayed in the rooms in the main house I used the communal bathroom which has a very attractive tree-shaped double shower with real plants hanging off a gap close to the ceiling. In fact, I loved the creativity of the washroom so much I asked to have a look at the other bungalows and all the washrooms are unique, with colourful ocean paintings on the walls and have an outside tropical style shower.  

One of the nights I was invited to join their Pizza Party Night where for 70K Rupiah we were able to make our own pizza from scratch. I rolled out the dow, put the home-made tomato sauce and chose my pizza toppings. And finally, the staff cooked the pizzas two by two in the wooden right in front of me. After travelling for so long it was really nice to touch the food I ate with my own hands.

On top of how amazing this homestay looks, the family which run it are also incredibly lovely, funny and helpful when it came to deciding what to visit in the surrounding areas. Amongst many things I visited Tirtagganga Water Palace, Virgin Beach, a tree house labyrinth and had dinner at `You and Me´ in Candidasa.

Home away from home

This is our first time in Bali and we found this awesome homestay on the beach. The owner and the staff are super friendly and helpful. They always provide a great info about local food, where to go, what to do around the area. It is not for the holiday maker who wants a quiet holiday coz here are animals to play with, local bands almost every evening which are great, dinner parties almost everyday that you can meet new friends and try the local food they cook for us (only 50,000 IDR per person). They also speak English very well especially Tania 😂

I recommend this place to anyone who loves local lifestyle. They are our home away from home in Bali.

Home away from home!

I stayed in Lumbung Damuh for five days and had a fabulous time. Tania and all of her team could not do enough to help us and we were so lucky to have a really great group of people. 

The sound of the sea was lovely, just a tiny walk from the accommodation meaning I swam every day in the sea. 

I would definitely go back, if I am in Bali again.

Amazing Energy 

This place is amazing if ure looking for the true island feeling. We had the front beach bungalow and I loved the feeling of sleeping by the sea. All the staff were so friendly esp Tania. Will definitely go back!

Nature all around

I stayed almost a month in the paradise of Lumbung Damuh. With the amazing family, fellow travellers, friends and locals I had an fantastic time. The sea is just a few meters away, the bungalows are located in a beautiful and well-maintained garden, it is environmental friendly, and there is plenty of fun stuff to do in the area. Finding a home while travelling is rare, but I found it there! Thank you so much for everything!

The perfect home!

I stayed at Tania's wonderful lumbungs for 9 nights , originally it was for 3 ! But I got hooked by the place and the people ! 
I was travelling solo and Tania kindly came to pick me up . 
I had a beautiful bamboo hut with views of the sea , I was looked after by all the family and staff well. 
I enjoyed beautiful vegan food from their new centre across the road At Om , Learned to do Batik plus much more . 
Tania and her husband Lompoht and children made me very welcome and introduced me to a lot of real Balinese  life . It was a very Joyful time . 
The lumbungs were very spacious , the living area down stairs all open plan , showers plenty of hot water. 
Bed room had a balcony to sit out and contemplate ! 
It was hot at night but had large fans to cool one down which was adequate and if possible I would avoid using aircon anyway ! 
There is lots to see and do around the area Tania and her staff helped organise transport etc 
The level of kindness and support for a single traveller was superb , I felt like a member of the family . 
Thank you all for helping make my stay in Bali unique and wonderful . 
Would definitely recommend staying here , it's not 5 * accommodation but it's 10* service . 

Wonderful place to be

We spent two great nights at Lumbung Damuh. Authentic Balinese bungalows in the middle of a jungle-like green oasis give you the full-on holiday feeling. And falling asleep by the sound of the waves is just priceless. The homestay is run by a sweet, alternative and open minded european-balinese family who are always available for a chat and give you any information you could ask for. We felt very well cared of, thank you so much!
Tip: When staying there you should definitely rent a scooter, otherwise it's difficult to move around from there as the place is located quite remotely "in the nowhere".

Sleeping with the sound of the waves

Fourth time i was here and still a magical and beautiful place to stay. Xoure surrounded by beautiful people in between palm trees and the sea. Its the place to get some peace in an authentic surrounding and let your mind fly.
