Everything's good, cozy and warm room, thought about the details, professional and friendly service, tasty breakfast for a medium price, private parking. The hotel stands on the shore of the Curonian Lagoon by the pine forest.

Very good place for a nice stay

The room, up one flight of stairs, was excellent. We were pleasantly surprised of how spacious all the rooms were, especially for Lithuania. Separate and large living area, bedroom and bathroom. Bathroom was also upgraded, yes!
Good location. Only a few very short blocks from town center and the closes hotel to the dunes. Easy parking right next to the hotel.
Restaurant was good with a charming and very friendly restaurant staff. Emma, Edward (names we gave them) and Victoria, luv you guys, were so sweet and warm we were sad to leave. Recommend the hotel and restaurant. And we would “hands down” stay there again.

An Easy Goin’ and Friendly Place

The place in general is quite lovely, it seems quite new. But the rooms are really small, there just wouldn't be enough space for a longer stay. And the double bed is two twins pushed together, which we did not like also yiu ciuld hear the spa sounds from our room as well as everything anyone was saying in the hall and in summer you will most deffinately hear the restaurant. It could use more sound proofing. In summer, for a longer stay and such a rate I would go for something bigger, including a kitchenette. However we loved the location and the fact that it works in winter (no breakfast off-season though). And as we stayed on Valantines weeked we got complementary champagne :) Liked it, didn't love it.

Nice for a few nights but not for a longer stay

The welcome was excellent: warm, efficient and friendly - as was all written correspondence with hotel prior to arrival. It was downhill from there.. 

Cleanliness - OK. Room was clean on arrival (except for spiders!). Daily housekeeping is minimal and inconsistency but adequate. No bed making, tidying or other touches. The indoor dining area where we ate breakfast had dead bugs on the window sills and on the linens. These went untouched until the 4th day of our stay when I noticed someone had finally wiped the window sills and cleared the cob webs. The common area bathrooms ran out of soap and could have been vacuumed more. The hotel is generally kept at an acceptable if not spotless level.

Accommodation - The "apartment" is basically a Suite. It's 2 rooms and a bathroom but the kitchen facilities that the word apartment implies are limited to a small fridge and an electric kettle. The fridge is stocked on arrival with  soft drinks, and still water (mini-bar style, these are then presumably charged to you if you use them). There are also packets of Green Tea, sugar and cups.  Our 2 kids slept on the sofa bed in the sitting room. The room has an additional 2 chairs, a coffee table and flat screen TV to which we could hook up our xbox for movies.  The space is a good size, the views over the park and water are nice and there is a huge cupboard for storage. The bathroom is big and the bathtub big enough for 2 with a shower fixture. The bed is also a good size and fairly comfortable. 

Two of the windows in our apartment are fitted with screens to keep out the bugs (necessary for mosquitos and spiders, the latter of which we collected 6 on our arrival) but unfortunately the only 2 screened windows over look (directly) the balcony attached to the room opposite which seemed to be occupied by staff from the restaurant. Frequently the balcony is used for smoking and although there was less noise after 11pm, on more than one occasion we did have people chatting, smoking, and listening to music or watching music videos on their phones directly outside our bedroom window - and only about 2 meters from where we lay trying to sleep… On some occasions the windows had to be closed or more windows open to clear the smoke smell from our room. It also means lots of coming and going onto the balcony, doors banging, being closed loudly.. I should say I am probably more sensitive to smoke than most people but if that is something that would bother you it's worth knowing. 

All in all, at the risk of sounding like a grumpy old lady, we felt more like extras in a TV show about young seasonal hotel workers in a seaside resort town than like paying customers. The other rooms of the hotel seemed mostly to be occupied by the staff and so that feeling of being in a University residence pervades. We came here for a special treat, paying a bit more for what we hoped would be a peaceful and luxurious break. I can't honestly say it was either of those things. 

Restaurant - Breakfast is ostensibly served from 9am but in our experience they aren't properly moving until 10am. Even food ordered at 915 took 45 minutes to produce (fried eggs and bacon) which is a long time with young children. The quality is good, the pancakes with strawberries were always very fresh and well presented. All the breakfast dishes come with a plate of fresh raw cucumbers and tomatoes, sliced meats, cheese and white bread with butter - this "starter" was enough for our kids to make DIY sandwiches. The fruit salad was fresh but came with an unannounced sweetened strawberry sauce all over it. The omelettes are generous and filling, the fried eggs and bacon as advertised. 

Restaurant: As for the lunch and dinner service… having left a very positive review on this site a year ago I would now revise it to say the quality and presentation of the food AND the service has slipped. There is one waitress we found to be very friendly and professional, but otherwise we were very disappointed. We chose to stay at this hotel given our good experiences at the restaurant in the preceding 3 years. This time around we found the staff sullen and borderline rude in their comportment and attitude towards us. The food is expensive compared to other restaurants and there are not many Lithuanian specialties. The menu hasn't changed in the years we've been coming here which to me means it should be perfectly executed, which in our experience on this trip, it wasn't. 

Overall - The location of the hotel is very restful, the park nearby is great for kids and both the town and the water are easily accessible from the hotel on foot. There is parking in the back but it's tight and not always available.  All in all the location is perfect and the infrastructure exists for an outstanding hotel and restaurant but the potential is not currently being realised.

Could be great, but falls short of the mark

Very small but nice hotel. Very good location. Very nice staff and good breakfast! No aircon so a bit too hot to sleap. A bit overpriced as we stayed last days of august as weather no good there. I would recomend to stay in this hotel. 

Very good location

This lovely guesthouse boasts an excellent restaurant, great service, ease of check-in/out, and free parking.  All this so close to the beautiful beaches and dunes of the Curonian Spit.  Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore this beautiful country!
