Yay:
- Competitive price on Booking.com, cheapest in Gori.
- Nice garden.
- Spacious room.
- Short tour in the car of the dad was offered.
- We were invited to sample home-made wine and brandy, really nice addition. We bought some after.

Nay:
- There's no sound-proofing. We could hear our neighbours word for word when they were speaking at a normal voice. We couldn't sleep as long as they weren't. When they woke up, we inevitably woke up.
- Breakfast was disappointing after reading about big varied traditional Georgian breakfasts in the reviews. Very very basic and not enough. It made us not want to try their dinner, which was also more expensive than in the restaurants. Breakfast was also always later than agreed upon.
- Booking.com says it's 500m from the centre, but that's not really true. It's about 2-2.5km away from the tourist attractions. Far from the bus station, but close to the train station.
- Kitchen, but no cooking equipment (pans, pots etc). Feels like they want to force you to order dinner.
- Toilets outdoors and downstairs. At night, it's not ideal to have to put your shoes on and walk down the stairs in your pyjamas and into the rain and cold just to pee. Makes me wonder how many men peed into the kitchen sink, honestly.
- Very loud dog who never stopped barking (needs training) and rooster who went on all day long.
- We wanted to wait a bit to leave (in common area), as we couldn't check into the next place yet... But we felt quite unwelcome to do so. There was 1 new guest and they said he needed the space... Even though we were quietly sitting in the common area which we had to share with 5 people before, and the new guest was alone and had a private room also by himself. Seems like the kind hospitality lasts only until the exact paid time and not a second longer. 

Pros and cons

Nukri's Guesthouse is great. we arrived quite late in the night and had no problem with getting a room and they also have a private parking so no worry finding a parking spot in the city.
After settling in, Nukri offered us to taste all his snaps and in the end we could buy some, which we of course did.
Nukri is very helpful and was helping us with refilling our water supplies the next day.
Definitely worth a visit!

Great Guesthouse

The pluses of this guest house - home made authentic Georgian breakfast, close to the station, tranquil setting amongst the vineyard, chickens next door, inexpensive, walking distance to the Stalin museum and some shops, and the couple who own the place are very nice and insist on you trying the home made wine and spirits. Down side - no fan to cool down (and it's close to 40 each day), shared bathroom (hadn't realised when I booked); we were on the bottom floor and other guests stayed up very late talking outside, which kept me up. Also, the bedding was patterned and rough, so quite uncomfortable. All and all though, a nice, friendly, tranquil place. 

Tranquil

Stayed two nights in a three-bed room and thoroughly impressed with the laid back atmosphere. Very competively priced. Nukri is a great host and obviously proud of his homemade wines and brandies. You get to sample them for free before you buy! Kitchen facilities available though no bathrooms on suite. Handy for the station and a twenty minute walk into the centre of town. Nukri will give you a lift locally if he's free or arrange a cheap taxi if you want to get out of town to see a few sights. Some aircon or fans at least would make this place truly outstanding. 

Authentic rural Georgian experience

Nukri's house isn't directly in the centre, but since the city is really small and as such doesn't have other huge attractions besides Stalin's museum, it isn't a big deal. Prices are dirt cheap (35-45 GEL for a double room incl. breakfast), you get nice breakfast (incl. cognac!), there's a hammock in the garden to rest, and Nukri is a perfect host - he can drive you around the places to see around Gori (Uplistsikhe, Ateni Sioni etc.) and has his own distillery with interesting sorts of homemade spirits (including peppermint or tarragon). Just don't be distracted when you arrive and find no signboard on the house - guesthouse itself is in the backyard and the number 24 is visible on the street.
