Where to start?

What a beautifully located and looking B&B this is! It was so easy to find in the old town and seconds away from everything. 

We arrived early and the owner had let us keep our stuff there until we were able to check in. That gave us time to go for a nice walk and get some food.

The owner was really polite, informative and just made you feel welcome. 

We arrived back from our walk and we had been upgraded to a double room which we were very happy about. 

The room had the originally beams and oozed character. It had a nice wooden floors and a super comfy bed! The TV was pretty small but we  probably watched it for an hour later in the evening so didn't care. The hot drink making facilities were in a communal part of the building where there was a couch, TV etc. Was really pretty. The shower is located next to it. The toilet is also out of the room. Was always free when we needed it and same with the shower. 

The views were amazing too. I thought anyway!
My only fault about the room/place is it needs some extra power sockets or leads to be able to charge phone etc otherwise you compromise other things. 

The breakfast was a nice selection and tasted of a good quality! Both were happy. 

10/10 is easily given to this b&b. We will be back for sure in the summer, maybe sooner. 

There's a lovely little souvenir shop 15 seconds from the front door that makes handmade items. Well worth a visit. We got some lovely stuff for home. 

Like a home from home!

We stayed one night in the small attic room, main building. It was cosy and comfy, but a bit hot even though it wasn't too warm a day. If you are sensitive for noise, this isn't something for you since the rooms are very close to each other and share a bathroom. Decent breakfast with croissants, eggs, yoghurt etc either on the garden terrace or inside.

This quiet and comfortable B&B is in a fantastic location right on the old town square and overlooking the river. Maggie is a friendly and welcoming host. We had a large double room upstairs with a lovely river view. The shared bathroom with one other room was very clean and modern. 

Breakfast was a nice continental spread with fresh baked croissants.

Old Porvoo is delightful with its cobbled streets, beautiful church and river walks. Highly recommend spending a night or two here!

Great location; comfortable and quiet

We stayed in the red fisherman’s cottage right by the river. Very spacious and quiet. Great to be in the center of porvoo. Breakfast was very nice with waffles and lots of choice. Friendly owner and definitely a nice place for a night or two. 

Lovely converted fisherman’s house

Located in the heart of the old town of Porvoo, the inn has a great history and a lovely feeling to it. The staff was very friendly and breakfast had a lot of varieties. A very comfortable stay I'd say. 

A Lovely Little Inn

This Bed & Breakfast is perfect for those who really want to experience Finnish culture. The structure is divided into two houses one in the square and one along the river ((I stayed in the main house (in the square). The furnishings are very typical Finnish, the staff is very friendly in fact they also showed me the house on the river with the other rooms and gave me free access when I wanted to stay in their garden they are always reachable for any info at any time, breakfast is very rich they also have nutella cornets for those who are not lovers of cucumber sandwiches typical Finnish :) clean rooms, free wifi, very central, the Italian owner Maggie speaks

It's beautiful.

Staying at Ida-Maria was like visiting a friend. They texted on front about our arrival time and showed the way to our cute little one bedroom apartment. There was a possibility for sauna, which we didn’t use this time. It certainly was a great bonus especially now as it is -20 degrees celsius our side. We we’re so happy that they had arranged oat milk and oatgurt for breakfast only for us as we are vegan - such a nice gesture, which made us feel like we we’re important to them. The breakfast was very jice with oatmeal, different sorts of breads, bread toppings, waffles (not vegan) and fruits. Totally recommend ♥️

Warm and atmospheric stay

In my opinion, the biggest advantage of this establishment is the absence of crowds of tourists. Here you can really relax without any hassle (no coughing children with mothers, not quite sober visitors, etc.).

It was minus 30 degrees outside and minus 21 degrees in the house.

A nightclub can't be more beautiful than the crowded main square of Alt-Porvoo, opposite the town hall and museum. The perfect idyll  unless you get caught on leaving the B&B right into the camera shooting range of a busload of Asian tourists. The house itself is small and cozy, reception and breakfast service by a tourism student were uncomplicated-hearted. The house is tastefully renovated and furnished. Below the roof there is a nice, rather small community room, and shower rooms are underneath. The breakfast buffet was tasty and well maintained, for my three tastes a little bit on the old side of the house, but everything in the house is a bit narrow, so slightly slender. Today the house is a nice little house where you can even look around the old town.

A night in the idyll

Lovely old wooden house right in the centre of the Old Town of Porvoo. Very cosy and friendly; even offers a sauna. One or two tips. It's not that easy to find; look for a red wooden gate just on the left beyond the main square. The owner will text you the code to let yourself in as there is nobody to book you in. Very little is open on a Sunday night in Porvoo, but I did find somewhere open in one of the riverside warehouses.
